Looking great guys! As you come ever closer to finishing the map, I think it would be awesome if you give us a better glimpse on the world map itself. Similar to what Bethesda did before Skyrim came out :)

Thanks for those words of encouragement, Recovery. You remind me of how a certain character from middle earth used to fight for Gondor anonymously in his earlier years. Every Gondorian wondered who this great warrior was and where he came from. He went under the name of Thorongil. Could have also called him Recoveryanonymous.

Hey, I'm from the team and I just had to say that I am so blown by all your awesome support, guys! I really, really appreciate your efforts for Merp. If we somehow manage to save this baby, then I will feel obligated to at least triple my workhours for this mod, to give back to the community what you deserved (A worhty LOTR experience).

And either way how this C&D issue plays out, I will remember to fight more for the stuff I believe in.

All I can say at the moment is please keep an eye on this moddb site for any upcoming news. Maybe there will come the hour when we call our fans for help!

The landscape and general scene from the pictures is going to change later on (including ground, rocks, clutter and vegetation). The pictures were just to show the 3d model of the fortress itself. Later, an exterior developer will drastically change the surrounding landscape and make it look awesome.

Gimp Gimp.org free image manipulating program, but many prefer Photoshop Adobe.com ... And you need Nifskope for implementing models to Skyrim Niftools.sourceforge.net .
It´s all a bit confusing at some point, but if you don´t give up it´s worth it.

I´d say go for it. Your skills in worldbuilding are awesome and Skyrim has a lot to offer to show your creativity.

Additional note on the Hornburg model:
The known modder "Nebula1" from the Nexus was so kind and allowed me to use a cool texture from his, the wall texture! (I only tweaked it a bit)
So kudos to him as well!

Thanks again so much for your positive feedback on the Hornburg! That really means a lot to me, since I am by far not any professionall 3 modeller and my fellow 3d modellers at Merp, helped me a lot with good ideas and suggestions for improvment during my making of the fortress.

Kidding aside, thanks for your kind words. I´ve been working on this particular model for some months. And my fellow 3d modellers at Merp always had good ideas how I could improve it, when I posted some WIP screens at the forums, so thank them too! And also kudos to Alasdairhurst´s super high graphic screens that you can see here, with them my model looks 100% more quality, than it actually is....

Custom skies are definitely welcome, at least the night sky. Can´t have those huge planets from Skyrim on the Middle Earth night sky.

You can support us by contributing to the project with your modding skills and ideas. If you´re a 3d modeller, you can contribute with models. If you´re a writer you can write ingame books and /or quests. You can make concept art if you know how to do that etc. Even if you´re not into anything modding wise you can still come over to the forums and give feedback and discuss all things Tolkien. Everyone may help, because then it´s less work for the other devs. We´re basically the most open game development team that I know of!

I totally agree - The anticipation for this mod is an excercise in patience that will finally be rewarded with a work of art, wothy of the uniquely uncontested Tolkien writings.
