I was thinking for the rails, do they use splines? You said that they were very buggy and I'd think that coding them so that a spline creates the mesh would be a lot easier.

You've probably already seen this but I found a tutorial on level streaming in UE3 which I don't think isn't that different from UDK code-wise: Udn.epicgames.com
Looks pretty easy and that's coming from some one who has absolutely no experience in UDK.
I also saw the latest blogs, great work! The screens look great, the only thing I'm worried about is Sonic's run looks like the UT2004 version (arms down no body movement) I doubt it since it's just a screen but I'm just checking.
