How often do you map btw? Actually, I started mapping/playing around with Doombuilder 64 for the Doom 64 PC port but hardly get time to map... started roughly 1,5 years and that only ocationally. Do you map on a daily/regulary basis? I know some people from the doom 2 community who map all day long to achieve such style Oo.
I have a big plan for a mod/game which I want to achieve but before starting this I need a better basis ^^
more and more RA3/CNC4, don't know if I like this direction...
I'm playing with the idea of starting mapping for Doom 3 too, how long did it take you to achieve this style?
I've already had a brief look at a tutorial for the id map editor and didn't look very comfortable... this this only a issue at the beginning?

don't get me wrong with this. I still play Doom 1 and 2 on ports nowadays. While I don'T really call Doom 3's design a flaw I appreciate the way Phobos handles this so far.
But when comparing this screenshot with priors it looks too cartoony and reminds me more of Borderlands

This surely is a great model, you've done good work with that but somehow it lost its charme :/
Shaitan was a beast, a killer and you could see it. But the Guan Yu rather reminds me more of the Apocalypse Tank of RA3 (which I really don't like for same reasons)

I know that this mod is not being continued but I still have to say that the people who are still bitching this mod just don't get it...
In fact it's pathetic when people say that their mod is superior or a different mod is inferiour because they don't like the gameplay.
This is one of the very view mods that ACTUALLY STAY TRUE to the original idea of RA2 but this mod turns it up to eleven, many like it, others don't. Really how many mods are there that add random **** that doesn't fit into a faction scheme?
If you don't like the original gameplay (including Yuri gameplay) you will neither like this.
I don't want to say names but some modders think they are better than others and believe that they can judge about the work of others without even trying to understand what a mod is about. Balancing and eye candy is not everything. Fun and essence of a game/mod is important and this mod has plenty of it!
