Hi guys. I am going to provide Steam keys to Desura who will be able to fulfil the Steam key requests. I cannot possibly do it myself as there are too many of you. However, I am uploading the retail version here right now.

Great! Happy to see this. I'm actually using some of your open game art in StarDrive right now. Thanks a ton for that and thanks a ton for this game.
What toolsets are you working with? I'm using all XNA
Looked at the screenshots and the quality of the writing, looked at the price, insta-purchased. Happy to support this project even though I'm not going to be able to play it until some good laptop time comes around!
You can't buy it yet! We're in a closed state for a couple more months yet, then we'll do a big announcment and so on with pre-orders and beta access.
There is a distinct possibility but nothing is planned presently. All depends on the success of the PC version.
Yes, sorry for not updating here! There are so many digital portals out there that it's impossible to post all the news in each place. Please come sign up on our forums and you can have much better access to the dev team there.
Hey guys. You should join our forums at StarDriveGame.com
I'm sorry to say but your video card is not quite up to the task. Check these benchmarks out: Videocardbenchmark.net
One thing I might be able to do for you and for gamers in your shoes is to put an "iconic" mode in, where the game is played using sprites instead of 3D models. I think this is a feasible thing to do. For now, though, I'm sorry to say that you're bottlenecked heavily by your graphics card.
There is a fix on the forums. Go grab that and everything should be fine. What are your system specs? As far as I'm aware, all of the performance issues have been resolved. You may want to try updating all of your drivers on your video card.
Not in the game -- you can just delete them from the Saved Designs folder inside your install for now. The whole ship design screen is going to get a final pass where we'll add some more of those usability features.
Logan, what happens when you try to save a ship?
The error is on my end. I'm patching it presently. It's a simple fix. I actually had the Anti-aliasing turned up too high for most systems, which will cause an immediate crash.
Looks like I packaged a development DLL instead of the distributable. Posting a patch, will resolve the issue.
Someone else has reported this as well. What error message are you getting, if any?
Our new website will be launching this week. Look for our press release on Thursday; our new site should be live by then as well, with new hosting and superior forums.
The Alpha-funding period has now ended due to a new agreement with a publisher. A press release will follow soon!
If an error isn't popping up into your face when the game crashes, then it's not getting logged. Something to do with the multi-threading I think. I've got the whole game wrapped in a try/catch that should pitch the crash dump out to a window, so it confuses me why people get the "sunburn game stopped working" with no dump even now. I have to look into it further.
The format of the game files are not going to change much, so if you want to start modifying them, feel free. Very likely they will be useable when it comes to beta and beyond.
You can't choose a specific faction yet. That's coming!
can you please email me your save game file so I can see what the performance issue is?

Just posted a patch, awaiting approval. I always break a bunch of things right as I'm getting ready to upload a patch, because I disable all my dev tool stuff. If you get any funky behaviors, post them on the forums. The game has been extremely stable on my end but I have not done any real testing of this patch on non-dev systems. Let me know!
There is a config.xml in the installation folder. Change your resolution there and problem will be solved.
Alright, alright! I give. I'll post a patch ready or not on Friday just to get you guys up to speed with where development is at.
This game will very likely be on steam. I will endeavor to get steam keys for anyone who purchases the game here.
Also, I know I said a patch was going to happen last week, but I've been deep in the code and I don't want to release a crummy patch, so hang tight. I'm really cranking now.
It is very very likely that this game will be on Steam, but not for some time. I am soon to be signing up with a publisher and that will control a lot of the timing of this release. Alpha-funding will therefore be ending soon as well, because I will have full funding from a publisher. So, if you want to be part of the testing process, get it now; if you want to wait, it will probably be on steam in 6-9 months at a higher price.
