what do u maen u cant use it?r u sure u downloaded the right version for ur windows?i mean there is a 32-bit version and there is a 64-bit version?

well when u have a mpq archiver u can open some os d2 files like d2_patch.mpq and some other like d2music.mpq,anything with mpq extension.when u opened them there r a variety of file types usually u need the text files.u can extract those txt files that u need with ur mpq archiver and then start editing them.but then u'll be needing to know wath each column and row in the txt file r for.for that, u could use the files in phrozenkeep.for editing the txt files it is good to use microsoft excel or something like a table editor.i think it would be better for u to download something from phrozenkeep named the begginer's toolkit or something like that.it has a short guide and some software to make ur work really easier.

that's a mpq archiver,u need it to be able to open d2 files so u could edit them(moding u know).i hope it's clear.

there r quite a few good things there,i mean anything,descriptions on a lot of files and functions and some software for modding.u will be definitley needing an mpq archiver,there r lots of crappy ones out there but i found a good one but i cant remember the link,i'll let u know as soon as i could find it.
