I understood perfectly, but I had looked over the recon class's focus on suits rather than a weapon class while writing the above comment - it does make it a fair bit more neutral, weapon-wise, so I think I will go with that. Better to have the maneuverability than the sway focus given my variety of combat. Only had 4 hours of sleep, so I blame that for my lack of attention to detail. :P
With sniper and assaulter (wonder why not just call it assault? xD) I would feel like I was working under peak efficiency by using anything other than the weapons with a bonus, because you'd be losing out on a large chunk of your class bonuses while doing so.
I really wish there were a list of what guns fall under each specialty. I also wish there were a "neutral" specialty, or something of that sort. While I love this mod - seems to do a hell of a lot for the game - I would rather not be forced into one of three specializations when my play-style falls between them oddly. To elaborate, I like clip-fed or single shot unscoped rifles and revolvers, but like to move as fast as humanly possible, and typically use said rifles and revolvers in medium to close quarters, rather than the typical long to medium. Something like Recon with the rifle specialty would be good for me - perhaps isolating the weight/speed from the weapon type specialty would be a good idea to satisfy users who find themselves caught between classes like me? Don't mean to sound commanding or anything, mind you - it's your mod.
It may require DX10 or DX11 lighting modes, depending on how they set it up - regardless, you should probably post your video settings (particularly those related to lighting), or else nobody will know how to help you.
I can say that with settings maxed out in DX11 mode, I get the effects. Only happens at certain times in certain weathers, mind you.
Pretty sure it should, because in the ltx file it says the type is "sniper_rifle". :P
Shouldn't the SKS count as a sniper specialization weapon? It doesn't show the text.
Highly recommend going to the GSC forums - though you might get an answer here, dunno.
Constant crashing when saving or loading, inc. from main menu. Also keep getting the game coming up after I hit load in a tiny borderless window - tabbing out and back in fixes that, though, so I could live with that..

Do the sniper bonuses count for non-scoped sniper rifles like an SA Avalanche, or a VSS without scope, etc.? I presume they do, esp. since you start as that class with an unscoped Mosin Nagant, but want to be sure before I assume things.

Hey do you guys want help with this? I just found this mod today, and already ******* love it - I can do texture work if you need it - as well as logos, icons, voice acting, narration, coding (I do Python - could make custom installer or etc.) and other stuff..
They fire automatically for me just fine - just not beyond visual range. If you want them to do that they need a unit or building to spot for them, or radar scans - makes sense, that's what they do IRL.
I have played the crap out of the original game, Raptor Mod, Shockwave, I tried RotR, and now this. This is by far the best mod out there for this game.
There are a few features in others that I wish it had, sure, but overall - no comparison.
Ideally I'd add the Raptor Mod GLA power plant to one of the GLA factions, some of the vehicles from Shockwave and Raptor (rebalanced to fit) and add the entire Russian faction from RotR (rebalanced). That'd be a goddamn dream mod. If it weren't so tedious to merge mods I'd do it myself for my own use (I tried to merge Raptor and Shockwave).. Maybe I'll try someday. :3

Yes it's absolutely infuriating! I don't care too much about not being able to afford going to Minecon, it's a shame, but whatever. When they start giving away exclusive things, though, my "GAHHHH I WANT IT" sensors go off and badger me into wanting to go. Can't afford it, so a bit of a paradox there. Anywho, if Minecon people get special cloaks, why not Alpha players? Beta players too, perhaps! Then we won't be left out, as you obviously can't wear several cloaks at once.
Your description mentions a server, and states a local IP address. People will never be able to connect to you with that, you need an external IP address and some port forwarding or DMZ setup.

Looks excellent! Haven't tried it yet, but from what I read it sounds fantastic. I thought I should point out, however, that you have a typo on your main summary: rouge (French for red) instead of rogue.

Is there any way to reverse the changes that made this third person? I love this mod, but really prefer FPS games to TPS games.
While the mod isn't the most serious thing ever, I really like what I see so far - except the zombie ghosts. Three reasons:
- Ghost is spelled this way, not "goast".
- They shouldn't randomly say "Zombie Ghost" when they hit u.
- Zombie ghosts? wtf?
I hate third person - is there any chance or method of a first person view in this?
Oh, and I second the Commander Keen idea.
I used Game Maker for ages, but never envisioned something like this.
