When the time comes, I would be willing to do a modular installer for you. I realize we got off on the wrong foot, a bit, but I'm quite technically proficient and (other than a few balance choices) quite like your mod.
I've changed to MISERY at least until .45 comes out, though - the guns need some serious rebalancing IMO. The HK417 and G43 both use almost no durability when fired (difference of a whole decimal place compared to other weapons), and the HK417 is OP in accuracy and range compared to other sniper weapons, especially given the availability of it's ammo - IRL it's really a marksman rifle or BMR depending on configuration. Just figured I'd let you know some specifics since I was complaining about weapon balance so it doesn't seem baseless. Your mod, though, so if this is by design I understand.
As for patching the .db files, you could certainly do a binary diff on them, would be smaller than redundant archives, but you might be better off just selectively extracting things from a shared archive in that or a more common archive format, and then repackaging into that if it's used for runtime (my two cents).
I was rebalancing a few guns for my own preferences, and after editing three ltx files for guns, and the weapons.ltx for tweaking the prices on some ammo, the game wouldn't start up. I did everything according to modding specs - any idea why that'd happen? I realize you're not obligated to help me with this or anything, but since you dev'd this whole mod I figured you'd probably have some clue.
It should also let you know when your weapon is dropped - I was full-on sprinting away, got shot, and my weapon disappeared into the swamp forever, because I went back to Skadovsk and THEN noticed it wasn't there. :|
I don't suppose we can get a hotfix before patch 3 to sort out the quest-breaking bugs like the Uncle Yar and Mitay quests, the stalker group crashing, and other high-priority things?

Started a new game with everything all set up - the new items I started with all had script-side names, i.e., ui_blah_blah_2. Is this normal, or did something go wrong?
Also, link to download the vanilla ammo icons is dead. :(

I don't see a FAQ. It says no news has been posted. All I see is the big features list at the top of this page, and no download link for the mod - only a patch. I'm not a moron, and I'm not a troll - I just don't have the information that everyone else seems to have.
I just now found downloads for the mod on another site - I really don't see how anyone could get the information or mod from this page. I can hope that this FAQ is included with the mod so I can finally read all this great information that I haven't had access to. -_-
Edit: Oh for ****'s sake, you expected people to look in the forum for this stuff? Usually on moddb people either don't have one or just use it for bug reporting.. You can't just expect people to know that! When you saw me asking "obvious" questions and whatnot, you should have told me where the damn stuff was instead of presuming I was some kind of retard-troll. -_-
Happened again, and I facepalmed 'cuz of course I didn't get the error - it was a "not responding", so there was no engine error.
For now I guess I'll disable fallout.
I've been chugging along with v3 installed for a while now, and suddenly I travel to the Skadovsk with a stalker group (fast travel), and when I get there it says that Fallout begins - I believe it said it twice. A few miliseconds later the game crashed. Unfortunately I forgot to grab the error message.
Also, I've found a few lighting glitches, the sort of thing you see in the original engine - I assume that while lessened with AF, there's no point in reporting them (I made saves at them)..?
Yeah I figured that out - the grass thing - amazing what kind of difference it makes, though. :D
Are the nature and structure packs included in v3, or not? It's pretty ambiguous. Also, what fixes the damn grass draw distance.. It was fixed in MISERY and I assumed Atmosfear v3, which was integrated, was what did it - or perhaps I need that nature addon... if it wasn't included!
Nope but that is a serious problem.. especially since they can do it when you're hiding somewhere that they shouldn't even notice you, and turn as a group and fire at your face.
I've decided, personally, to go try I WORK ALONE until MISERY is less buggy-as-crap.
I changed my mind, there are a lot of features lacking even if some here are unique and amazing. I'll toss what I have up on mediafire...
All you have to do is put the resulting "eng" folder into the gamedata/configs/text directory and it'll pick it up. I removed the files that override vanilla content with russian vanilla content, and then translated the first two files in the directory completely and touched them up by hand.
I recommend running the rest through Google Translate even if you're too lazy to finish the translation.

They were definitely all dead. I walked around the camp like a nut exploring all over.
All of the friendlies were dead too, even.
Okay, maybe not today - lol. I translated two files fully out of 10. Pretty sure the one with all the mutant hunter dialog was the longest - took 3.5 hours to do those two, I imagine the rest will take another few hours. Will work on it between playing and other stuff.
Sorry to say but that's quite wrong.. They still online at ars-team.ru, and they've had posts within the past month stating that 1.0 is still under way.
I'm translating the mod to English. Removed all of the unnecessary files that override English text, I'm doing an automated translation on the rest, and then cleaning it up by hand with assistance of alternative translation sources and my mastery of the English language..
I'd post on their forum, but apparently my account has no rights to reply or make threads. I'll post it someplace and link here when it's done (later today).
This looks awful, but the rest of the mod sounds/looks so damn good, so I will ignore it and retexture it myself if it's the only nasty texture in the mod.
All I have to say is.. Skeletons? What the ****. Skeletons and Skeleton Dogs - these do not belong in the game. What radioactive mutation makes bones get up and move? -_-
Also, what do you mean when you say "Undead" - we've already got zombies..?
BTW, there's a few typos in your description, like "Forrest".
Edit: Oh, and why is there a compatibility patch for the mod when the mod isn't available..? O_o
There's a lot of bugs in this mod - most of them were reported before Patch 2, and Patch 2 does not fix them. Several of them break quests or crash the game. :|
After this last bug with Mitay I might just have to cut my losses and start over with another mod or vanilla.. :(
It exists and I found it too. It's under a wimpy-*** tree that looks like a Christmas tree with no needles. It's kinda near a big boulder.
I also find that the zombies have the accuracy of a trained sniper even when they shouldn't be able to see you.
