We're glad you're enjoying the game and thanks for pointing people toward our Steam Greenlight!
It is definitely a shame that this game never caught on well enough to warrant adding multiplayer. The game seems to be something that most people enjoy, but perhaps it's just not addicting enough to keep them coming back very often.
Where did you purchase your key? If you bought it from our website, then it's not a Desura enabled key, but we can add it to Desura if you'd like. The giveaway keys are Desura enabled by default.
Sorry for the very delayed response, DVDVD. Unfortunately, multiplayer did not make the initial release of the game and then the game has never garnered enough support for us to continue improving it. We may still revisit the game someday, but we are currently focusing on new games.
There are definitely some similarities to Lumines with a sprinkling of Guitar Hero(and other beat centric games). One reviewer actually put us on a list with Portal, Portal 2, and Lumines, saying that these are the only puzzle games that have entranced him.
Yeah, perhaps we'll be able to get Steam to reconsider someday, but we're glad you picked up a copy on Desura. What do you think of the game?
haha, no, Killing Floor is Tripwire's IP. While Tripwire published Break Blocks, Greater Good Games and Tripwire are separate entities. Obviously we could work together on a project at some point in the future, but that's not the current plan =)
Unfortunately, Steam has rejected the game. We've had to stick with just selling on our website and Desura
Yeah, we get that a lot. The name is actually because its about Break Dancing and Blocks, but people think usually think it's some version of Arkanoid. We'd love for you to try the demo!
As much as we'd love to, we're not convinced that it will have much, if any impact on the game's success. Generally our decisions are not driven by success, but we're more interested in starting development on a whole new engine/game at this point rather than porting this game to all the platforms it would work on: Linux, iOS, and Android.
Cool, I just checked out Vortex. It looks like a lot of fun, though the gameplay is pretty dissimilar to Break Blocks; it's more of an Arkanoid style, whereas Break Blocks is in some ways more similar to Tetris and Bejeweled at its core. We'd love for you to try the demo :)
Thanks, MarcusM. Linux is definitely on our short list of places we'd like Break Blocks to go. If the game is successful, I think you can expect that to happen. *crosses fingers*
Glad you like the idea =)
Would you happen to have played any of our Early Adopters builds, yet?
I'd love to hear any feedback you may have after playing it =)
Am I the only one surprised by these results? I mean, I don't have a smart phone, but most of the people around me do. I assumed that most people had one, whether they gamed on it or not...though, after reading the comments, I guess a number of people that don't have a smart phone wish that they did...
Heh, I'm glad you like the logo, but that is a strange association indeed. Whatever works though, right? ;)
Awesome! I'm not sure if you've read the news anywhere, but we'll be starting up an Early Adopters Program between the beginning of April and the end of June. We've been looking at everything we'd like to have ready before we start the program, and we're pretty sure it won't start until sometime in May at the earliest. We'll try to get it started as soon as possible, though.
Squelching this misunderstanding: Desiderium is not an Orion developer, but Praz is. Desiderium is a developer standing up for a fellow developer, but none of the Orion developers have responded in a harsh fashion to the criticism expressed above.
Hah! I don't think anyone would buy the game if we included a gyrating Gregs in there ;)
Don't forget to check out our Dev Blog at Greatergoodgames.org
I look forward to everyone trying the game, especially you Gregs ;)
Thanks, I hope it helps someone out there =)
It definitely isn't impossible, it's just quite challenging on higher difficulties.
In just a few months you'll be able to find out for yourself! =)
Very interesting concept and great execution. You guys probably already have this covered, but just in case: my only concern would be ease of entry, as the game obviously has the ability to become complex, but I wouldn't want new players to get deterred by the game starting off too difficult. Like I said, you've probably already thought of this, but I just wanted to make sure, as this game looks like it should be a big success for you guys. Great Work!
Yeah, that's exactly what Kismet is used for. It's one of the strongest tools for Level Designers and Artists in the Unreal Engine, so bringing that to Unity will make the engine that much better.
Yeah, the game doesn't exactly take itself seriously =)

I am the Senior Programmer at Tripwire Interactive and have been working on Break Blocks on the side in an attempt to strike out on my own and give some money to charity in the process; which is why Greater Good Games is structured as a Not-For-Profit company.
