Check out _____________ www.bssounds.com _____________________ I'm a guy who's planning to be a professional game audio guy within the next year. I hope to find 1-3 Mod teams who really have their shit together, are near the end of their development cycles, and I will provide them with AAA sound. I'm trying to learn the Unreal 3 audio engine, and a little of Fmod, since those programs seems to be the most requested by game companies so far. Drop me a line if you think I can help you out, or if you can lend me a hand.

Me & BrainStorm Sounds:

I decided one day to get 2 AA's in audio in three years. I didn't intend to also be a part time audio engineer, but I can't refuse money. I slept very little for those three years.

I've been a tester with a bunch of game companies in the Seattle area (ArenaNet, Bungie, Mobliss, Volt, etc..).  I'm currently involved in two independent game start-up groups now. I started a field recording club in college and I now have about 10,000 sounds in my personal library, and I plan to record some more guns soon. I saved up enough money to be "self employed" for 6 months (thanks to Bungie). In two months I replaced the audio for 8 trailers to show employers that I can knock out AAA sound with no budget, no supervisors, and with a tenth of the gear and sound effects that established engineers have. Last week I completely outfitted Airtight's 'Dark Void' trailer with sound effects as a demo in just 11.5 hours (web-publishing soon). Besides that, all I do all day is learn about the Unreal 3 audio engine, or Fmod, or practice my voice talent abilities.

I don't compose music, but I can read sheet music, record, edit and produce. I love music, but I'm just not a 'Pro' musician or composer. I love recording symphonic music. I really think that music and sound effects should be two different jobs in the game industry. The best concept artists are not also the guys who do light-maps, and I think the same methodology should be applied to sound.

I wake up every day wishing I could spend 60 hours a week doing game audio. I don't have a girlfriend, I do have a vicious need to prove myself, and I barely have a life...  So basically, perfect parameters for the game industry. I plan to be hired or have contract work under my belt within a month of GDC '08.

Hi there, I saw your comment in the Lone modders group. I'm a bit busy this year (university), but I'd very much be interested in taking up your offer sometime early next year.

The Real World (see my profile), is a M*trix inspired mod - so you can imagine the kind of crazy sounds we need for that. Mostly kung fu whooshes, flips, bone-breaking crunches, body impacts, that sort of thing. I'm very much struggling to get that stylised underwater/slow motion sound right for the special bullet-time moves - maybe you can help?

If you're at all interested, please check out the videos (Youtube: Baddieman) and my past mods like Katana.

All the best,

Maddieman
