sorry on the late reply here, but only the American DD tanks sank because they deployed them further out to sea, despite warnings from the British to not do so. The Commonwealth DD Tanks managed perfectly fine.

ok i'll do it in steps for you
Step 1: go to Localization Folder
Step 2: go into Mission Folder
Step 3: go into Single
Step 4: go into the folder which you've called your map
Step 5: open LNG file with Notepad
Step 6: Underneath {tags add in -
{"date" "*Text here*"}
{"place" "*Text Here*"}
Remove the * on the text, and replace the text with your own date and time
you've gotta edit the Localization
open up your mission in your localization folder and open the text file with notepad
then add in
{"place" "*Insert your text here*"}
{"date" "*Insert your text here*"}
Reason why its so odd looking is because after WW1, the Brits had the blueprints for the MP18, the famous Stormtrooper SMG in WW1, and so they made the Lancaster SMG (a direct copy of the MP18) however due to its heavy wooden stock they remade the Lancaster... which is now the Sten, modifications were made over time and eventually the Sterling SMG was the modernized version of the Sten we see today
