Neither can we!
Maybe in a future game mode, or map. I don't think we'll be including him in the core features upon release.
If you mean head-bob, we already have that in our current version of the game.
Thanks! Yeah we've been hopping up and down for awhile now, but it's always nice to see the community shares the same enthusiasm for getting the mod done as we do.
Slenderman will appear everywhere, why would he only appear in certain spots?
Yeah he'll have areas he can't enter so he doesn't get clipped inside of a wall or something.
Who said the forest was abandoned? Because something is trashed does not mean it's abandoned. Also, the ladder is propped up on the wall it's not at a 90 degree angle.
You're right. I did some research and the typical concrete tunnel is 400-600mm~ in thickness. I'll double the thickness which should equate to about the right amount.
The mod itself will be free. As for needing HL2 from what I've been told if you have the Source 2007 base you should be able to run it. Having HL2 is a guarantee though.
If you can run half life 2 you should be able to run this (I can't guarantee it but you SHOULD be able to).
You can download it once it's released from the main page.
I'm sorry, must not have gotten as good a picture as I thought. It's a tow truck (there's another car if you look closely on the back of it).
Your gamma is way too low then. Nobody else has had a problem like that.
The last thing that will be happening is this mod getting canceled. I could literally hand program him into the map if I have to but if anything that's the last reason this mod will get canceled.
You don't have to play multiplayer, we are giving you the choice to. It will be a lot more fun if you do play multiplayer and just as scary.
I feel like it's a good start, but usually if he's hunting you, you won't get the chance to look at him for too long with a flashlight anyway.
There's a fog_controller but if I make it so that it blocks out the skybox all you will see is a black background. I think I am going to overhaul the startup menu once we get our first doll model done.
Reason I'm allowing the skybox like that is so you guys can see part of the sky in the startup menu (I've fixed it so the edges aren't as visible, etc.)
I'm making the forest map, like he said this is merely a showcase of the model. I'm hoping to get some shots of the forest out by next week.
Since you seem to know what the source engine is let me tell you how it works:
Moving clouds require a model with an animated texture. I'm not a modeller.
Why you are expecting sound in a pic I don't know.
This is the start menu, the terrain is going to be flat because otherwise th entire map would be black.
In game the ground will be pretty flat as well. You wont see the end of the map though.
* Of course it's noticeable, the terrain is flat.
* Go step outside where no lights are on, if you can see 50 feet in front of you and 12 feet up, guarantee you won't be able to see something like a 2 inch thick rope.
* It's not the same tree model everywhere, it's supposed to form an arch above the pathway like that. As for the other trees I used every deciduous model half life has to offer so I can't help you if you find 4 models unappealing enough.
___
Bear in mind this is what it will look like while you explore the terrain and you are missing a flashlight.
Unfortunately Manio is offline and I don't have contact with the modeler at the moment. Don't worry you will get to play hide and seek with Slendy on the start menu soon enough.
Or rather, he will play hide and seek with you.
Since '08 I've been avidly gaming in Steam. I picked up Garry's Mod because I heard of it as one of the best sandbox games of its time back then. When I went into multiplayer I saw many purple and black boxes consuming the screen. I proceeded to ask the other players, why this was? They told me I must have been missing Counter Strike: Source. That is when I was first introduced to one of my favorite games I've ever played.
I bought Counter Strike: Source and was dazzled by the quintupling of the server amounts. In fact, there were so many the router overloaded and dropped internet connection for half an hour. To this day I still don't know how to fix it. I digress, there were so many servers that it was nearly impossible for me to pick one. So I picked a random Dust2 server.
This was the first time I experienced team-based FPS gaming. Outside of console games I had never, at this point, been introduced to the such. I assumed the title of "Beginner's Luck" then shot and stabbed my way to the top of that round. I continued to follow this pattern of randomly joining "pubbie" servers and fighting until I bested them all.
What I want Counter Strike: Global Offensive to be is my chance at a real competitive gaming experience. With this beta key, not only would I be introduced into an environment where I would get to enhance my gaming experience, but I would get to involve myself with communities in order to fight in skirmishes and clan vs. clan matches. With a beta key I would be able to do this along with getting to assist the developers with the development process of a game that will revolutionize how we look at the Source Engine.
Hoping for the best,
