The spawning inside people is a level design issue that will likely be fixed very shortly.

I don't understand why RnL is so heavily impacted by this issue, but other games are not. How does Valve get around this? They must know about it and have a fix, because none of their games have these problems.
What do you mean team color? You can already tell your teammates from your opponents. One team has American uniforms, the other German.
Lack of available resources prevents this from being a reality, sadly. It's hard enough to get content created for the multiplayer component as it stands.
Try uninstalling and redownloading Alpha 4.
When someone says, "When's it done", that's usually a hint that they are not ready to give out a specific date. If they had a specific date, they would say so.
You think the guy who modeled and textured every weapon in the game is the "weakest link"? Whoever the strongest link is, they must be amazing at what they do.
It's just a posed model. The character does not hold the gun that way in-game.
The map is still a work in progress, and as such, the visuals are incomplete and unfinished. I would advise you to take a look at the other maps in-game to get a sense of what it might look like when finished - with the more urban setting in mind.
Currently the focus is on the 101st and 82nd Airborne and their combat in Normandy and beyond.
There aren't many people playing because the game is in Alpha. That will change with the release of Beta.

I installed the mod, but when I create a new game I spawn stuck in the skybox, unable to move, I can only rotate my camera up and down, floating in mid air.
You can't fix bugs when you are re-writing the code from scratch. Old bugs will vanish and new ones will appear.
That should not be happening. I have an 8800GT and I get 60+ FPS with max settings.

The G43 will be in the next release of RnL, but no word on the FG42. Maybe for the release after.
There is no single player, it's a multiplayer only mod.
It's kind of an early draft, a newer one was posted recently on the forums and it looks much sharper. Don't worry about it.
Funny story...I made a Bog map too for this competition but forgot to turn it on the release date. I poured around 30 hours into it too. To think I could have won. Ouch.
Not at the moment. The game is in Alpha at the moment so you never find more than one full server at a time. As the mod gears up for the next release each time, player numbers drop and you only get on a full server in the mornings on weekends (PST).
Sniper Rifles were hardly if ever used in combat during WW2, so I wouldn't count on it. They wouldn't add much value to the gameplay anyways, as bolt action rifles are pretty accurate at long distances as of now. The next two weapons will be the M1A1 Carbine for the Allies (a staple of paratroopers) and the Gewehr 43 for the Axis (finally adding a semi-auto weapon to the German side). After that, I would think that a BAR for the Allies to use for suppressive fire is likely. STG44 will probably never happen, because of it's rarity. An FG42 for German paratroopers wouldn't be a big surprise either.
