I've only watched Let's Play videos of this, but it seems pretty good.
Although i would suggest working more on atmosphere and less jump scares.
And a lot of the scares seem to be so unrelated to the backstory that it feels like it's a haunted house at a carnival. Just all-purpose general SPOOKY stuff.
And it would make sense to be able to have the house lit properly, at least at the start. You could have the power go out or something.
And I'm not sure how sleeping works in this; The dude goes to bed, then wakes up the next night? Is he a nocturnal hermit? Well, he is an artist so i guess that's plausible.
But he isn't at all fazed by everything going on, and there isn't a good reason why he won't/can't leave the house.
Last thing: It would really heighten the immersion if you could explore the house during the day. Because IF you can make it as tense and SPOOOOKY during the day as at night, you would have done a really great job with horror.
