I am curious as to how the mod works. The one thing I really liked about Company of Heroes' cheat mod was that it works on all maps and mods.
What about Men of War conflicts with an ability to allow virtually universal usage of the cheat mod?
Sadly, no. The cheats mod I've made is just a mission script.
Therefore, you need to attach it to every mission in order to have it activated.
I've tried the CoH cheats mod, and I have to say that it is good.
The CoH cheats mod is a script that is kinda like a mod like a character replacement. It loads in every mission, no matter what.
But to activate the cheats on a mission on Men of War is not really that hard. You only have to delete 2 lines, and add a simple line to include cheats. I will hope to make a tutorial soon, a web based one.
Well if it isnt too hard, can you give me the gist of what to do? If I am successful then I could try and write the process out so you don't have to, since everyone knows a picture or video is worth 1k+ words!
I think it won't be too hard, maybe it will be kinda similar to how to get the CoH cheat mod working.
Only thing you need to do (especially CM4.1) is to add a include in a current mission.
at almost at the end of the line (before the last } )
you just add a line:
options are: ger/jap/rus/uk/usa.mi
Working is like this:
Mission -> german country set -> load cheatsmod
so again, just add the include line to a mission!
Sorry to double post, but what would be the method if I am trying it for Men of War?
for every mow title it should be the same.
only thing is, that I haven't updated other titles except asault squad
I just cannot find the files that I need to 'include' when searching through the MoW version, guess I will just wait until you one day update the older versions =P.
(Unless CM 4.1 somehow works with MoW haha)
PS There are some weird bugs like the squad from the transport vehicles not showing up on the unit sidebar or the tankers from spawned vehicles doing the same thing.
0.mi (holds what to include)
mission.mi (this explains itself does it)
in 0.mi we have
What it basicaly says:
+ Load mission
+ Load side (for country spawning)
+ Load cheats (its best to load side.mi first)
What you can do with missions that havent cheats mod yet:
1: Edit the 0.mi (most of the times the mission)
2: go to the end of the line. Example:
Now before the last } bracket we put 2 includes
You should also copy the side.mi and put it one layer above the mission.
You also have to figure out yourself what player you are in the mission you want to have cheats.
If you dont set the right player, the cheats mod will give functions to other players or enemy's. And thats something you dont want to happen :)
