the original game is good game, and maybe this to will be quite as good as the real game.

First off.
Is this mod legal due to copyright, and stuff?

I really don't care about the following part, but its something thats that I think the creators should know.

Not to rain crap on your mod, but I don't think converting the ORIGINAL game into HL2 Mod is legal.
There is the part with Copyright of the game that stand in the way.
The Duke Nukem Source for Half-Life 2, got canceled due to they didn't think about the copyright.
As long as the owners of the ORIGINAL game have the copyright, I don't think this one is legal.
If you got some proof that the "code" is free for editing please post a link to that site.

the form of the Pirate 'Pirate Ship' has a kinda reminder of one of the guns in Unreal Tournament 2004

good to see you are still going for this mod.
Why not hold back until Unreal 2007 gets out, and make the mod for that game?
I know it will delay the production of the mod, but it would be abit more breath takin, with a sweeter engine to run it on

Is it possible to set the mouse left to straffle left and mouse right for straffle right?

it would allso be cool to controll the bar-thingy with the mouse, and set the sence to the playesr choise.
this would be usefull for skilled players and compeating against other people

What I have Done.

1. Installed the game ( 6 CD version )
2. Patched the game ( v3369 (32bit) got from Patch-Scrolls)
3. Downloaded the mod
4. installed the mod ( copyed the KFMod20 folder in the UT2004 folder )
My install dir f:\********\Unreal Turnament - 2004
5. downloaded the 2.0 to 2.1 patch
6. installed it
7. run the "RunKF.bat" file
and got a runtime error

well me and some other pepole, was going to make a mod for Morrowind, but the a**h*le I worked with whas a psychopat and demanded that I worked allot more, due to I was I who came up with this mod.
I kept all of the so called poorly dawen consept art made by me and left him.
the one I made is abit nifty, and is quite good, Im not gonna throw that away.
I started making the world and came allot on my way, and it beacame quite good
