Not a big fan about posting profile bios, but I guess I'll do one. I'm a PC gamer fan and not that big on console. I like to modify games for personal use but sometimes start up mini projects. I love to create levels. Oh and I'm not afraid to tell you to your face if I think your level/mod needs improving. I also tend to hang out on the ZP:S forums alot (best game ever). I will try and help you out even if no one else will.

Lot more "Great and in High Demand" then I expected. Personally I've only seen the Just Cause 2 mod really succeed in that, others like the Fallout and Oblivion ones didn't really work out all that well.

At 0:50 you have the 2 different tiles just change abruptly, put something on the floor to hide it, a common thing most mappers like to use is a strip of metal or wood that you can commonly find under doors.

Why are you using HL2 lab props in what appears to be a subway.

2:57 that decal ending abruptly at the wall would look a lot better if you put some of the dried blood splatter on the wall as well.

It looks alright but it still has a long ways to go before being really good.

Because obviously they screwed up Google Sketchup when they made it free for anyone to use. Not to mention that valve even made plugins for it that can be used to create models and levels for source games.

because if you will notice my review your other maps do, you need to seriously think about who you have on your mod team Grey-Echo. We had a entire laugh session about how most of your mods maps look like crap and play like it to. That is the only thing that is bringing this mod down is the maps.

I think the main thing that holds back game/mod development these days would have to be programmers and 3D artists. Many times you see mods on this site die simply because they could not find a programmer.

3D art is one of the most complex things I have ever seen. Not only do you have to learn how to make good looking models but you also need to know how to animate, texture, make collision models then on top of all that export it so that it works in whatever engine your working in.

Have you read recent EULA from companies? Look at Bloody Good Times, the game had good game play it just needed maps. However Ubisoft slipped this into their EULA:

It is not permitted:
- To modify the Multimedia Product or create any derived work,

- To decompile, reverse engineer or disassemble the Multimedia Product.

This is a source game we are talking about, an engine plenty of people know how to map for. They could have probably made more money in the long run if they would have supported the community.

Is this what's wrong? Are you the kind of person who wanted to go off to a distant college but mommy and daddy said no and forced you to go to community college so they could keep a close eye on their most precious baby? Listen man don't you think it should be up to the community if they want to try and mod a game? It shouldn't matter if the developers provide tools or not. Look at the past battlefield games for the pc before Bad company, they all had mod tools but they weren't great mod tools. It took people forever to learn to properly create a navigation mesh for the AI. BF2142 didn't have mod tools, the community had to take a previous tool released by DICE and mod it to be able to create maps.

The point of the matter isn't that they aren't providing the community with mod tools, the community can do that on its own over time. The point is DICE is locking the code down so you can't touch it or mod it anyway without it being illegal.

@moppop: I'm sorry but there are plenty of mods out there that have professional quality to them. Look at project reality, Neotokyo, Off Limits, and No more room in hell All great mods that are on par with the quality of studio produced games.

Now look at games like Dino D-day that are awful yet had all the same chances and tools as modders did but had money to back them up. Would you say Dino d-day is better then Hidden Source, Fistful of frags or even 1187? After all they all run on the same engine but one is made by why you consider "professionals".

Plus how are you to know whats best for the modding community when you yourself don't even mod? That's like telling someone they're not allowed to use art supplies because they are simply a hobby artist and not a professional artist.

And that is why I loved Jedi Outcasts multiplayer. There was just something about having crazy mid air fights and jumping all over the place that I liked. I hope they capture that aspect in this mod.

Look at this way; am I going to go buy another Mario Kart game from Nintendo when I could simply turn to this free mod that's running on an engine that's easy to map for, get custom skins, bookmark servers, and probably get better developer support?

Are you at all related to this group and if not are they aware of you using their name? Not trying to be an ******* but this could really come back to bite you down the road. You can't just use the name of an already established studio.

Also if licensing is an issue why not drop Slenderman completely and come up with an original character? I find it hard to believe no one on your team can come up with something similar or better then Slenderman. Plus it would really help to set your mod apart from other slender games. Slenderman is a popular IP at the moment but I think you guys could really come up with something more original.

@Kinuhudai: You do know that L4D and L4D2 run on the source engine right? Valve just gave them a more upgraded version of the editor (wish they would upgrade the old hammer to support instancing and the fix for the grid number problem)

And why is everyone saying source is to old? Don't know if anyone has noticed yet but they keep upgrading it with each new game they release, sure the older games like HL2 are not going to have as amazing graphics as newer games but that's because it was released and finished in 2004.
