Not a big fan about posting profile bios, but I guess I'll do one. I'm a PC gamer fan and not that big on console. I like to modify games for personal use but sometimes start up mini projects. I love to create levels. Oh and I'm not afraid to tell you to your face if I think your level/mod needs improving. I also tend to hang out on the ZP:S forums alot (best game ever). I will try and help you out even if no one else will.

@WitheredGryphon are you honestly making the forest flat? I really hope you're not because frankly that is a very bad design choice. It will very easy to just look down one direction and see where everything is. And please get one of your modelers to make you a custom tree because frankly those HL2 trees are ugly and are not suitable for a forest.

Eh it's alright.

* Very noticeable where the trees stop

* To dark to tell what is up with the body, right now it looks like it is just floating

* Same tree model everywhere

So I just started following this game again and am glad to see you guys going to be making an indie game out of it!

Only question I have is will the kickstarter items be simply cosmetic or will they have different stats? It would really suck to miss out on them if they did have stat changes :(

Agreed just looking at David Prassel's bio feels like he is insulting others and is trying to take credit for most of the work done.

Tip to people who are writing bios about themselves don't use "I" all the time it comes across as being egotistical and that you want to take all the credit.

Also will the survivors be up for download as well so that people can make other campaigns/maps based on them?

You just need a source engine game to play this I believe. Meaning if you have Team Fortress 2 installed you should be good.

Taking other people's material (models and the such) without giving credit because "Too many models and one's resources were taken for the fashion" makes him a bad person in my book (how hard is it to keep a running txt file with a list of names and locations from where you got things?)

BTW do you guys have a tutorial on how to make custom characters? I looked around and I just can't seem to find a good one

@Otter: The Dreamcast was pretty cutting edge for its time as it added online play , something no console at the time had. It was also easy to make homebrew games for it and easy to play backup game discs. The system also introduced an interesting concept, tiny screens on the memory cards that players could look at while playing. This gave developers an interesting opportunity to put hud info down there on the controller instead of on the TV. This was especially useful in games like Sonic Shuffle in which you didn't want your friends looking at what cards you had in your hand. The graphic capabilities at the time were amazing when you compared them to the original Play Station. In addition to the online play it also allowed you to browse the web (you could even buy a special keyboard and mouse)

To top it off the Dreamcast had a ton of great games many of which are still popular to this day either in the form of a sequel or remake, games include Sonic Adventures 1 & 2, Toy commander, Chu Chu rocket, Armada, Crazy Taxi, SoulCalibur, Phantasy Star online, Dead or Alive and Samba de Amigo.

I think the main thing that holds back game/mod development these days would have to be programmers and 3D artists. Many times you see mods on this site die simply because they could not find a programmer.

3D art is one of the most complex things I have ever seen. Not only do you have to learn how to make good looking models but you also need to know how to animate, texture, make collision models then on top of all that export it so that it works in whatever engine your working in.
