Well i prefer Rotr better than contra(personal opinion)... contra is really unbalanced but still fun!

Sokols are great for ambushes, dont blame if you dont know how to use then...
Keep your Berkuts "Guarding Air" in the area where enemy GP planes comes from...
Russians dont have an Bombing run plane like Nighthawks, instead you should use Hinds with their new ability to strike down key strucures...
Russians are not intended to have strong air... those planes are just for battlefield support, if you use then right they will work right!

There are some tricks you can do...
Only play 1v1 and 2v2 matches, use small and medium maps.
Go to the Task Host (Ctrl+Alt+Del) put Rotr on High priority(also play it with no other programs running)
Theres an mod that reduces lag ingame, but its still not avaible for Rotr(you can use the Shockwave one to play shockwave, it really works!)

I think that only basic infatry should be crushable, you know Rebels, Missile Defenders...

Also Grenadiers have such long range!, an guy with an grenade launcher can shot farter than an Tos Buratino! reeally?! :p

My opinion is that Shockwave is not finished, there are still many bugs, some generals dont have Challenge maps...
And many units that could have some tweaks or complete overhauls...
Still its pretty fun!

The Marksman, an "air Avenger" it points out enemys and friendly units get increased rate of fire(i guess, dont remember thought).
It can also mark targets for howitzer positions.

Its harder when playing China!, the nuke is powerful but it takes much time to be ready to launch!

the best you can do is Zerg rush with the Hoppers! XD

stick to the ROTR maps, also dont put many AIs, 1v1 and 2v2 is enuff, more would cripple the gameplay with lag...

Make an engineer unit, or allow your basic infantry to capture it like in C&C Zero Hour.
It could also works like an King of the Hill thing... keep the some units nearby and the camp joins you...
