Then I would suggest you wait at least until the third patch when the game would be extremely stable :)

He is guided by the engine and is aware of anomalies. First time I`ve ever heard of someone thinking this is messed up. Usually I see things like "anyone made a mod where npcs don't die in fires and anomalies?"
thats caused by selflight.s shader, we are constantly updating dx10 and 10.1 because its not finished yet. this glitch is not happening for everyone, because its very much driver and vga related. until we find the best solution you have:
1. you guys download the old selflight.s from here, and put it back to gamedata\shaders\r3 dir and overwrite the new one
2. switch to r2 render, which also uses dx9.5, with many dx10 features, so you get sunshafts and others, but at least no such glitches.

try delete your user ltx after using the latest patch
This is a bug caused by a "fan fix" this is the kind of stuff we have to deal with all the time. Like chasing ghosts....
Try disable grass shadows if you haven't already.

Change to r2 or r3 render for the bar area, then when you leave bar you can change back to r1. It is fixed in the upcoming patch.
1) Put the four archives in one folder
2) Right click the first one and say "extract here" it will extract all four
3) run the exe and be patient it takes long.
They are not official fixes. The first official patch will be ready soon.

bit of moot statement for me. Even games before SOC were based on xray but you wouldn't compare them to COP. imagine 3 programming students brought this engine up to todays standards more or less and in their spare time. I'd say its pretty good for early access wouldn't you?
Then you must have other issues. I run on a lesser system, laptop, and its fine if you disable grass shadows, lower grass density and drop object and texture detail slightly

For some reason the marker isn't working. The entrance is near a hollow that has many poltergeists.
Did you double click it?

actually if I remember correctly, the higher the value the less grass there is.
find thumbs.db in the files and delete it
