I am a History student and a WWII fan. My favourite games are historicall FPS set in WWII like Call of Duty and Red Orchestra. I also like RTS games like Age of Empires and Warcraft III. Other hobbies I have are reading history books or novels (I like J.R.R Tolkien) and listening to heavy metal music. I like Iron Maiden, Blind Guardian and Rhapsody.

As someone whose family comes from Croatia, I'm glad to finally see something related to the war in Croatia/Yugoslavia in a WW2 game. I don't know why it has never been featured before. Also it's great that you make the landscape based upon the one in rela life. That will make the game much more authentical! So, best luck with your proyect!

Hi! Good to know that the French army might be on its way to FH2 after all!

About the Warsaw map, I particulary liked the Molotov cocktails, and I hope they are present in the Eastern Front when we play as Finnish soldiers, of course! XD There is also something "strange" on that map. One of the Polish kits has a sword! It is called Scotish sword. Was this weapon already featrured in FH2 or is it a whole new weapon added to that map only? If so, does it represent the sabers used by the Polish cavalry?

Does anyone know whether it will be included in the official game? The maps look great but the French army doesn't have its own weapons yet. Hi, I have just tested this mod. It has some weird things, but perhaps it's just me doing something wrong.

First of all, instalation. When I modify the shortcut's route and add the line speciffied in the Readme file, the console opens and the game crashes. So, I only added half of the line, only until it says "mods/Frontlines", and then it runs, aparently fine.

Once the game starts, I start a match, but once the match finnishes, the game goes back to main menu and I must load another map again. So, the maps are not automatically loaded one after other like in the stock game.

Another thing. I cannot play for the Axis. Even if I select Wehrmacht/Imperial Army, I allways play for the Red Army/Marines. Why is that?

So, that's all. The idea of the mod is very good (finally a mod that gives each army only it's proper weapons), but it needs to be fixed a bit more. Unless the problem is only mine beacuse I'm doing something wrong at the instalation.

1. Because Back2Fronts is a mod that aims to historical realism. And zombies are not realistic (in fact, I don't even understand why people like them so much; if I had to play a fantasy game, I would prefer orcs/elves/dwarves/dragons rather than zombies).

2. Because making a zombie mod would require much more than just importing animations. Basically you would need to import the zombies' models, maps, weapons, etc., and lots of scripting. So, it's much easier to just play CoD WaW, don't you think? ;)

Best regards, and happy new year!!

Vassili_Tzaisev Dec 29 2011, 3:26pm says:

Hi Sufian!

I downloaded and tested your mod. To be honest, there were some things I didn't like. I mean no ofense, you certainly did put a lot of work in there, but I think that there are many things that you could improve.

Let's start with the things I did like. Excellent work on the sounds. That is the best part of the mod, now all the weapons sound like real weapons being fired. Simply awesome.

Now, what I didn't like were the skins.

Some weapons looks really good; for example, the BAR, the Mosin-Nagant, the Lee-Enfield and the Luger. Others are just not bad, like the G43, the Thompson (although it's not much diferent from the original one), the PPS43, the Bren and the Greasegun.

But the other weapons, well, I think they don't look good at all. Most of them have modern day camo (PPSh is the worst one, but also Tokarev SVT40, M1 Garand, STG44 and the Kar98k with that red dot on the rear sights). Man, this is not CoD4. You seem to be a good skinner, so I'm sure you could improve them a lot in order to fit the realism aim of the mod. Also about the players skin. The SS black skins look nice, but remember that they were used for ceemonial purposes, not in combat, and not in all fronts.

About the new weapons models, the PPSh with 35 round magazine would look nice if you change the skin. But there's a problem with the portable .30 cal. When you see it on first person view, it's a .30 cal, but when you see it on third person view in the hands of a bot, it's a Bren. Perhaps you could fix it.

Again, I mean no ofense. I'm not a modder, so I supose I'm not the most apropriate person to critizice other people's work, but I think you are a good modder and could do it much much better. Take this just and some tips/advices to improve your work, nothing more. I'll still give you a 10/10 for the effort, but please keep it up and improve it. I'm sure you could turn it into a full relism mod.

Best regards, man (and I'm looking forward to the WaW surprise!).

Hi Sufian. Your mod looks good, so I will probably download it to see what it has. Is it only for MP, or does it also work for SP?

Another question. I downloaded the Realistic Kar98k mod you posted on Call of Duty Filefront, but I cannot play the mod. I put the .iwd file on main directory, but nothing seems to change while in-game. No new skin, sounds or reload animations, neither in SP nor in MP. What could it be?

Another thing. I haven't played CoD2 in a while, but today I played MP and I noticed that there are two new maps in my list (Normandy and Anzio, if you want to know). I have never downloaded those two maps. I thought that perhaps they were automatically downloaded from a server (I don't remember that though, because I allways play with the download option set on "No"). Anyway, I tried to remove those maps from main folder, but they are not there. In fact, it apears that there's nothing in my CoD2 folder that shouldn't be there.
I don't know if it has anything to do with your mod, but it's the only thing I remember I have downloaded in the last time. Anyway, could you (or anyone) help me to delete them? (and tell me what the problem is, just for curiosity).

Best regards.

Yesterday I played this game for the first time. I have been playing FH1 for over a year, but I hadn't got BF2 until now, because I hate Modern Warfare games. Then I realized I had to get it just to play FH2. So I did.

All I can say is: AMAZING!! Perfect game. Lots of weapons and vehicles, great quality on the models, the reload animations and especially the sounds. It's incredible how good sounds can make the game experience much more intense, just like in Red Orchestra Ostfront. So, definetly this is one of the best WW2 games I have ever played.

Just some questions:

1) I have read somewhere that there is a way to play a mp coop match withouth that message that says "1 more players needed", so you can fight alone against the bots, but modifying the spawn time, adding more bots and making a map list just like in BF1942. Could anyone help me?
2) The bots keep the names from original BF2, wich are english names. Is there a way to give them the names from BF1942, perhaps in the next version? (so they have English, German or Italian names, and later Russian names). It wouldn't modify the gameplay, but it would be a nice touch.
3) Could you add also sp support for the other 2.4 maps in next version? Because they are just great.

That's all. Again, excellent game. I'll be playing it on vacations, and waiting for the Eastern Front, of course!
So, congratulations and thank you very much! (and sorry for such a long post).

Best regards :D

Furthermore, I have recorded some German voices for the 1936 mod and even if I used my phone the quality is not as bad as I had thought it would be. So, if you want to add some dialogues in German, I could help you.

I think that it should be from the German side once again, because there are already too many missions from the allied side. A continuation of Red Square Massacre would be nice, why not to set it again in Stalingrad, but with more tanks and some heavy battles? If you could add the T34, that would be epic. Or, for example, the crossing of the Volga wou; you should stop the Russians in the red square. Or recapture the city hall, etc. Or what about Kursk?

Anyway, there are a lot of good ideas for another good mission. Im suggesting you only ideas concerning the eastern Front, because it's my favourite one, but any new sp mission in any front would be nice.

The only "problem" I noticed (not really a problem) is about the German names. Some soldiers had names wich were not a German name and surname, but two surnames.
For example, I remember a soldier called Fischer Baum; now, Fischer and Baum are both surnames, you should call them, for example, Hans Fischer, or Wilhelm Baum. And another soldiers were just called Unknown Soldier, like in mp.

But that's all. The mission is excellent, very funny to play (wich is the most important thing) and yeah, quite hard. So, congratulations, and thank you very much!!

P.S: If I'm not wrong, MCh2207cz made a T34 model for the Yugoslav mod. Wouldn't it be possible to replace the Sherman tanks with T34 tanks (just wondering; I don't know if a static model can be "brought back to life"). The same goes for the MG42 MGs, there's a pretty nice DP28 model that you could use to replace them (you would need permission from the owner, of course).

So, it seems that the map is almost about to be released! Can't wait to play it. The video looks very good.

Just one thing. I played the mission Outfoxed the other day. It's very good, but I had one problem. After I played the mission, I noticed that the profiles I had (with the completed sp campaign) had been deleted, and replaced with a new profile (I don't remember the name of the new profile).
Not big deal, I can start the campaign again when I have time because I like it very much, but please check it if you can. I supose it should have been that mission because I hadn't any other mods at that time.

Again, excellent work. Can't wait to play!!
Best regards.

LOL, taking the SS!! Yes, I know, it's a bad joke, but what the hell :-D

Edit: I wrote this as a reply to Cpt. Weasley's comment; I don't know why it isn't shown as a reply (it's not the first time that it happens). Strange...

That's great news, but did they keep the whole model in files, or just the animations?

Awesome!! They look great and the rolled-up sleeves make them look even more badass!
One sugestion: for the Normandy maps, give them camo straps and nets for the helmets.

Croatian army in Stalingrad, that would be a very good idea. Besides, your croatian skins are awesome.

Also, I could help with the voices too, if needed, but only in German, of course!! (the only Croatian word I know is 'Hrvatska') :D

Hello Cpt Wesley, how are you?
I know I'm not a modder of any kind so I can't help you with your fantastic Axis player mod for CoD WaW, although I would like to, but I wanted to recommend you this sound mod. Perhaps you already know it.

The author of this mod has released the source of the files he used so other modders could include it in their mods. The PezBOT team has already released a version of their mod with this new sounds, and it rocks. Weapons sound now like actual weapons. Son could you perhaps add it to your mod? I think it would make it even better.

And another thing. I don't know how advanced is the new german campign (yeah, I'm a bit excited about it, I know) but I have read about the battle of the Falaise gap and how general Meindl and his Fallschirmjäger managed to escape from the surroundig Allies. It was an epic escape, so, I thought that perhaps it would be a good idea for a mission.

Anyway, keep up your awesome job.
