It's a shame that the shotgun only fires one shot, it would be nice to have the powerfull shotgun available in mp. The animation of the soldiers reloading it as a bolt action rifle is also odd XD.

By the way, all soldiers in the campaign reload their weapons as bolt action rifles, but in mp the differetn weapons are reloaded properly. Is it possible to import mp animations into sp?

It would be nice if stationary machineguns could overheat like in CoD WaW.

Great work on the British gun!
That's exactly what CoD2 needed, more artillery. I don't know why there isn't many artillery models in any CoD game.
Also, can't wait to play the new Red Square Massacre mission, with all the weapons (nice job on the Maxim)

Hi!

First of all, congratulations for the mod! I have tried it some time ago, and it was great, much better than that s... called Black Ops. And now that it has PezBOT support, I'm sure that it will be still better.

Second, I wanted to ask something. Do I need to download the 1.2 Full client installer before installing 1.3 patch to play with the bots?

Thanks a lot, and congratulations once again!

The mere idea of making a new SP mission for CoD2 sounds good enough to me. About the mission storyline, personally I would prefer something a bit mor historic, but that's my opinion. Perhaps a good way to make a mission set during a fictional invasion of Great Britain would be to play as a Fallschirmjager in an udercover/sabotage operation. What do you think?
But as I said, any new SP mission will be welcome here!

And about "being offended killing allied soldiers"... I am not offended killing German soldiers, so I don't see the difference. In fact, I'm a bit offended when someone thinks that there's a difference between the allies and the Germans. I'm not saying that you are one of those people, of course, but you get the point. Just make what you want and nevermind if someone is offended. It's just a game.

Best regards, mate :)

Hi, I have just tested this mod. It has some weird things, but perhaps it's just me doing something wrong.

First of all, instalation. When I modify the shortcut's route and add the line speciffied in the Readme file, the console opens and the game crashes. So, I only added half of the line, only until it says "mods/Frontlines", and then it runs, aparently fine.

Once the game starts, I start a match, but once the match finnishes, the game goes back to main menu and I must load another map again. So, the maps are not automatically loaded one after other like in the stock game.

Another thing. I cannot play for the Axis. Even if I select Wehrmacht/Imperial Army, I allways play for the Red Army/Marines. Why is that?

So, that's all. The idea of the mod is very good (finally a mod that gives each army only it's proper weapons), but it needs to be fixed a bit more. Unless the problem is only mine beacuse I'm doing something wrong at the instalation.

Regards.

Ah, ok, that way it doesn't sound bad. After all, we have also seen killstreaks in CoD WaW, and (perhaps except for the dogs :D), they were pretty cool.
Also, ranking up would be nice, for example, in the UO style (great game, by the way), wich was also very good (that way you would have more ammo/grenades/etc.)

If you want to add some "non-modern" killstreaks, you could try to add, for example, bomber planes (replacing artillery), or why not Katyushka rockets (I have read that they were originally thought to be in CoD WaW as a 10-kills killstreak, but they were cancelled. Damm Treyarch for cutting off so much content from the game!).

Best regards.

Why? That's the only qustion I have. Why?

Don't we have enough MW games (and MW mods for WW2 games) already? Why to turn an excellent WW2 old-school game into just another MW game when you can just play MW 1/2/3?

So, 10/10 for the effort (I supose it would be a huge work anyway), but 0/10 in originality. Sorry :(

1. Because Back2Fronts is a mod that aims to historical realism. And zombies are not realistic (in fact, I don't even understand why people like them so much; if I had to play a fantasy game, I would prefer orcs/elves/dwarves/dragons rather than zombies).

2. Because making a zombie mod would require much more than just importing animations. Basically you would need to import the zombies' models, maps, weapons, etc., and lots of scripting. So, it's much easier to just play CoD WaW, don't you think? ;)

Best regards, and happy new year!!

P.S: By the way, the new sprinting animations look great!

Well, my "requests" aren't really requests, just tips to help you improving the mod. My point is, don't fell like you ought to do anything; the mod is yours after all and you have to make it just the way you like it, but I see potential there, and I think that it could be still much better. You will know what you want to change/improve, and you will take the time you need to do it ;)

Keep it up!

Hi Sufian!

I downloaded and tested your mod. To be honest, there were some things I didn't like. I mean no ofense, you certainly did put a lot of work in there, but I think that there are many things that you could improve.

Let's start with the things I did like. Excellent work on the sounds. That is the best part of the mod, now all the weapons sound like real weapons being fired. Simply awesome.

Now, what I didn't like were the skins.

Some weapons looks really good; for example, the BAR, the Mosin-Nagant, the Lee-Enfield and the Luger. Others are just not bad, like the G43, the Thompson (although it's not much diferent from the original one), the PPS43, the Bren and the Greasegun.

But the other weapons, well, I think they don't look good at all. Most of them have modern day camo (PPSh is the worst one, but also Tokarev SVT40, M1 Garand, STG44 and the Kar98k with that red dot on the rear sights). Man, this is not CoD4. You seem to be a good skinner, so I'm sure you could improve them a lot in order to fit the realism aim of the mod. Also about the players skin. The SS black skins look nice, but remember that they were used for ceemonial purposes, not in combat, and not in all fronts.

About the new weapons models, the PPSh with 35 round magazine would look nice if you change the skin. But there's a problem with the portable .30 cal. When you see it on first person view, it's a .30 cal, but when you see it on third person view in the hands of a bot, it's a Bren. Perhaps you could fix it.

Again, I mean no ofense. I'm not a modder, so I supose I'm not the most apropriate person to critizice other people's work, but I think you are a good modder and could do it much much better. Take this just and some tips/advices to improve your work, nothing more. I'll still give you a 10/10 for the effort, but please keep it up and improve it. I'm sure you could turn it into a full relism mod.

Best regards, man (and I'm looking forward to the WaW surprise!).

Yes, I work for Back2Fronts, but since I'm not a modder I only do the historical research (you know, refernce stuff like uniforms and so) and also the translations (we are planning to release Back2Fronts in English, Spanish, and, if possible, German.

And yes, I have CoD WaW and in my opinion, it's one of the best CoD games ever made, but sadly it's to short. I blame Treyarch for cutting off the British campaign and the extra weapons/vehicles, so I would really like someone to make a big mod, something like an unofficial expansion pack, adding lots of new stuff (like Western Front, American Rangers/Airborne, British army/weapons, winter maps and skins for Germans and Russians, etc.) Actually, there are a lot of good ideas for skilled modders, but it seems that not many modders like the game (it apears that it's a bit difficult to mod as well), and that's a shame.
So, I'm definetly looking forward to your surprise!

Regards.

2. Hey, thanks a lot for taking the time to answer my quetion in a so well detailed video! It not only helped me to delete the two unwanted maps (as well as oder mods), but also allowed me to find (finally) the Screenshots folder. It seems that Windows 7 is different than Windows XP, so the Screenshots and Players folders are not in the Main folder anymore. Now I found them.
Again, thanks a lot!

Ah, and if it is compatible with SP, I will download it and give it a try!

Hi Sufian. Your mod looks good, so I will probably download it to see what it has. Is it only for MP, or does it also work for SP?

Another question. I downloaded the Realistic Kar98k mod you posted on Call of Duty Filefront, but I cannot play the mod. I put the .iwd file on main directory, but nothing seems to change while in-game. No new skin, sounds or reload animations, neither in SP nor in MP. What could it be?

Another thing. I haven't played CoD2 in a while, but today I played MP and I noticed that there are two new maps in my list (Normandy and Anzio, if you want to know). I have never downloaded those two maps. I thought that perhaps they were automatically downloaded from a server (I don't remember that though, because I allways play with the download option set on "No"). Anyway, I tried to remove those maps from main folder, but they are not there. In fact, it apears that there's nothing in my CoD2 folder that shouldn't be there.
I don't know if it has anything to do with your mod, but it's the only thing I remember I have downloaded in the last time. Anyway, could you (or anyone) help me to delete them? (and tell me what the problem is, just for curiosity).

Best regards.

Yesterday I played this game for the first time. I have been playing FH1 for over a year, but I hadn't got BF2 until now, because I hate Modern Warfare games. Then I realized I had to get it just to play FH2. So I did.

All I can say is: AMAZING!! Perfect game. Lots of weapons and vehicles, great quality on the models, the reload animations and especially the sounds. It's incredible how good sounds can make the game experience much more intense, just like in Red Orchestra Ostfront. So, definetly this is one of the best WW2 games I have ever played.

Just some questions:

1) I have read somewhere that there is a way to play a mp coop match withouth that message that says "1 more players needed", so you can fight alone against the bots, but modifying the spawn time, adding more bots and making a map list just like in BF1942. Could anyone help me?
2) The bots keep the names from original BF2, wich are english names. Is there a way to give them the names from BF1942, perhaps in the next version? (so they have English, German or Italian names, and later Russian names). It wouldn't modify the gameplay, but it would be a nice touch.
3) Could you add also sp support for the other 2.4 maps in next version? Because they are just great.

That's all. Again, excellent game. I'll be playing it on vacations, and waiting for the Eastern Front, of course!
So, congratulations and thank you very much! (and sorry for such a long post).

Best regards :D
