Since 2004 I've taught myself, and others, in just about every discipline the Source engine offers.
You need to manually open a .dic file for GRID. Drag it onto the executable.
This plug-in is Windows only. Unless you port VTFLib. :)
I know all about that. I wrote it. :-)
I wouldn't bet on using attraction gel unless the source code is released.
Oh right, it's got a load of pirated stuff from Red Tide. Not cool.
500MB for one map?
You're right, it's in-house at 1C.
With respect, that's because you've never known better. Hammer is OVER TEN YEARS OLD! Modern level editors are built into the engine, and the best of them can edit the world while it is running. Hammer is a relic.
As far as I can tell, Red Tide can load MOW mods and vice versa (see Digitalmindsoft.eu). A separate profile isn't desirable.
Yes, that's here: Moddb.com
It only has the source code though.
Hard to believe this wasn't on ModDB until today.
That's not a helpful error report. But I'm going to take a wild stab in the dark and guess that you own Chaos Rising but not DoW2 vanilla, in which case you'll need to follow the instructions in the readme to launch the mod.
Well, yeah, and that confirms my point.
The Citizen's problems are caused by using very outdated builds of the engine and its tools. Very few people still bother with them, so problems that appear go unnoticed.
When things went wrong earlier this year they had to move from the 2004 build of Source to 2006, and now for closed captions they will have to start using 2007 (yes, I have tested).
Well *they* are.
No - I made a narrower one. The changes are all focused on giving player decisions more meaning.
Looks good, but the absence of autosave points makes playing it a chore.
A rare example of correction used correctly. :)
It's been painted over to some extent. Compare the aliasing on the windows to the very smooth edges on the back of the robot.
How can I tell which version I have?
It's a painted-over screenshot.
Sounds intriguing! I love new stuff. :D
They don't tell you here, but you also need to download Marathon's data files from Trilogyrelease.bungie.org . Extract the files to the same folder as AlephOne.exe.
There aren't many good mirrors left.
Voice duck is a part of lip synching. It causes other sounds to dip when a character speaks that .wav file, guaranteeing audibility. :)
This is a fantastic little set-piece marred only by a freaky lack of lip synching. I understand that you might have made the mod on Vista or 7, but surely there's an XP machine somewhere? I'd go so far as to lip synch manually rather than ship without any. Enabling voice duck at the same time would have eliminated the need for captions, too.
Niggles, however. The main event(s) are jawdropping!
I found everything I needed before getting the crowbar. Wandering around knowing what needed doing but without having any way to interact with the world was very frustrating.
Doesn't this mean that all the instances will have identical lighting?
"Too complex for consoles". Four words that make my heart swell. Assuming the news is true, /thank you/ Eidos.
If you still haven't compiled, you're highly likely to run into tens of problems when you do eventually make the leap. Unless a map has leaks, there is no such thing as "not ready for compiling".
I don't think anyone knows yet.
Really? I uploaded the file from a URL so I've never had the chance to open it.
I don't think it's too far off the mark. These things are either about blackmail or ego.
What a pleasant surprise. :-)
I'll second the comments, er, comment. I guess we can always open forums, but comments are so much simpler!
env_projectedtexture. Set the texture to project through an input.
Steam > Games > Right-click on game > Properties > Language > English
It almost never lets up from start to finish, yet most of the time you can't actually harm the helicopter. Plus you're sprint-jumping along a quay without any context or any aim in mind.
What you've got is a section that might work as part of a large whole, if it was smaller / included a vehicle.
It's competent but not great. The pacing is all over the place, due mostly to the near-constant presence of the helicopter.
Looks like something out of a JRPG tbh, what with all that mecha-angel stuff going on.
Very cool. What's the music?
Upload a preview MP3 to your profile and link to it. Very few people will download all this without knowing what it sounds like.
I did read that, but it never makes clear that it's multiplayer. It reads like it's an arena-based SP game.
Is this singleplayer or online?
I wouldn't call that cheating. It's how electricity flows. ;-)
The mod folder you extract to must be called Strider_Mountain.
Sacrifice vs. Brutal Legend, with the personality and wit of neither.
That's what I like to see, a bit of attitude! :)
Loving the raver punch animations. :)
I'm going to make a map that only spawns the clown zombie.
There's an FAQ at Simtropolis.com but it isn't terribly useful. The description above should give you a pretty good idea of what the mod does.
Duh, obviously pirated. Everyone report this (with the "!" icon in the top right) and it'll be nuked shortly.
Something is missing, but I can't quite put my finger on what.
This looks really dull and muddy. You need to brighten the sunlight colour, or else use whiter materials.
Try playing them all at the same time. :P
That colour is NOT BROWN, everyone! I repeat! NOT BROWN!
Transition to the *Ep1* branch? That was obsoleted two years ago!
Wow, I only just spotted the disembodied arm lying on the table!
Lol, that screenshot is a map for TF2! Mrmof.com
To correct spelling, or not to correct spelling. That is the question.
With everything facing the camera directly like that, it kind of looks like a side-scroller. :-P
The video is far too long. Skip to 7:10 for the best part I've found in it yet. :)
He slimed me!
Careful. EA retain the rights to your work and have only relaxed restrictions on its use for (IIRC) "Spore products or Spore fansites".
That's a performance benchmark. It's a very long way from a world editor!
That wouldn't be proper since I didn't have anything to do with making it. Maybe if ModDB ever supports adopting mods again...
Are you saying it didn't work?
(Also, I like how 23 people have downloaded the mod but only 17 have got the patch!)
Don't know if you'd noticed, but these guys speak Russian.
I can only play this in short bursts because my computer is on its last legs, and I swear, every time I load it up to solve a couple more puzzles it gets better. :D
Will this work with the GOG version?
You're also meant to be served the actual download. Do you not at least see the "Click to download spore_dd_patch_all_v4.exe if it doesn't start automatically or try another mirror" text?
You can delete this with the grey buttons in the top right.
That is appalling. Upload the HD version!
What game is this for? HL2? Ep1? Ep2?
Seems I ran out of room for the credits, too. The full list is:
Ambershee, Brian "Snake" Alexander, Evilmrfrank (BBurkart), GreenLoves, Kami, Legendary_Lee, Mozi, N3oDoc, nELsOn, Plutonic, Raz, Sklare, SpoonDog
I actually ran into the description field's character limit and had to cut images and text from it before the addon would submit. That's just how much there is on offer in this damn thing! :-)
The version already uploaded has a wonky aspect ratio. This one ought to work.
Because it's only just been uploaded.
Even the syringe gun over the Blutsauger?
I don't know about broken links, but the presentation is all over the place. Lists aren't useful here: go with headings instead.
Do you have a Steam community group? I'm only going to forget without an event notification. :-P
Does this make the game turn-based?
Contrast! Colours! UT3! Holy ****!
V8 is a single implementation that's (supposedly) very much faster than standard JS interpreters.
Edit: beaten by Jeff.
Spectacular colour! There's some nasty banding going on in the skybox though. :-)
Did you really just post a screenshot of some text? :-P
Did you really need to upload that? :P
Thanks, can you add all that directly to the article? Anyone should be able to edit it.
The game is a string of combat scenarios. There's nothing else. :)
And I just so happen to find this very funny.
Erm, any screenshots?
I'd make some more. Those paras are still VERY long.
Oh my god, your map is 100MB! Scale up those terrain lightmaps stat.
It crashed the first time I tried to start a server.
The second time I managed to drive into town but got the truck stuck on a low wall. Without the gravity gun there was no way of dislodging it.
As I walked around on foot the whole game started seizing up. After much hard drive thrashing I managed to open task manager and close hl2.exe, which was haemorrhaging memory faster than bullets from a desperado's deringer.
Still, it sounds like a very good concept. And I loved the menu music. :D
Next up, download servers? :P
You need to upload and link to a clip or two. Just stick them on your personal profile, and not L4D's...
Try reading the image description. :P
Nice filesize. :)
This installer seems to fail completely in Vista: I had to open it as an archive and manually extract all the files to upgrade the mod. There's also a file (my .ico as it happens) that's installed to C:\!
You should submit this as a streaming video. Nobody's going to download a mystery 90MB file.
That's pretty damn blue.
Too much noise - it actually looks pixelated. Tone it down!
If this works, I may well have to buy the game to play it. :)
Look at that neck! Maybe it's been augmented and can extend. ;-)
Wouldn't help much when you had to wash the dishes...
I don't think it's the same place as the other concept piece.
No joke. It's certainly remarkable how far apart they are for two games sharing the same technology!
Suddenly, his recurring nightmare made /sense/...
You need to use some func_portal_bumpers (and preferably increase the size of the portalable areas) to make placing portals easier: it's far too fiddly at the moment.
It was also unclear what I was supposed to do in the first room - perhaps because there were a couple of custom decals missing?
I enjoyed the map anyway. :-)
Gman exits through a metal closet. Genius! ;)
Could you post this on VDC? Developer.valvesoftware.com
This is really, really good! AFAIK nobody's even tried to write a character-driven mod before.
Those chairs have Deus Ex written all over them. :-)
My eyes! My ears! My mind! :P
I love that hall!
I wish videos/music wouldn't show up before they've finished processing.
What processing does an MP3 even /need/?
Fantastic news! Looking forward to the link. :)
Does anyone know when .01 was released for the Mod Tool? I only found out about it when I tried to grab a URL to upload the installer here.
Bump actually gets quite expensive when it covers too many surfaces, particularly on fillrate-limited cards. Detail textures are a better for general use.
Those unique features being..?
It'd be easier to upgrade to the Orange Box and use Valve's...
And I used to think the music from 2005 was good!
You ought to re-post this in HTML, <a href="http://www.moddb.com/tutorials/add">as a tutorial</a>.
This comment has been posted in a private group.
No, because it crashes with a C++ error whenever a map spawns. :P
It's also still running with the Ep1 engine - I thought it had been ported over to OB?
It looks nice, but you're wasting an opportunity if /everything/ is blue. Other colours, used sparingly, will have a tremendous impact.
<a href="http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/$distancealpha">You should put some soft edges on them</a>. :)
Great! When did alpha one come out?
I suppose I ought to finish it then. :o
My god, is that a screenshot from the map? :o
Couldn't smoothing groups be used to get rid of that lighting seam?
You didn't run buildcubemaps.
That's exactly the kind of thing I think should be done in the main forums. ;-)
You guys just can't get enough of those Combine lamps, huh? :-p
I'm pretty sure Hammer doesn't use metric anywhere. Unless you mean you want a conversion app in general. :-p
I'll just put a call through to Gabe. He should be able to fix it.
Why not just download the mod? :-s
Is he made out of cabbages then?
The lighting is really bland in this one. :/
I always thought of the walls of the capsule as being a near-infinite distance away, or at least not something you could collide with. It looks very odd having this lumpy orange stuff everywhere around you! :-p
(Also, aren't you supposed to only be able to enter the LP from inside the blue HUD funnel?)
Looks more like a Pokemon ball. I'm certain the central ring was never that bright, or big!
Now THOSE are jets. :-)
What on earth is the ghost soldier thingy?
Since URLs can't be added to video descriptions, the author's is here.
If you want to load the HL2 maps, change the AppID in gameinfo.txt to 220. There might be some problems with forward compatibility though!
Not bad at all. :-) Could use some more contrast though.
I've got everything, including both CBPs.
"Squad Commander requires UT2004 version 3186 or later, but the version on your computer is older (you have version 1)."
Buh? I've got the latest patch installed, and the value in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Unreal Technology\Installed Apps\UT2004 is correct.
Can't say I'm going to miss their games, but this must be a blow to everyone who mods them. The tools will still work on PC of course, but the games just won't be there...
Please tell me you didn't take a photo of your monitor because you don't know how to take screenshots...;-)
While we're talking about this, could an "Opinion" category be added? I've had to use the hopelessly generic "Article" instead...
Well it ain't one. :-p
To clear up any potential confusion, this is my own opinion. It doesn't represent ModDB's.
Nice work. :-)
It's hardly worth buying if you're going to play it once then leave it on the shelf.
Anti-cheats like VAC will permanently ban you if they find strange programs hooking their games. Be /incredibly/ careful is all I can say.
Why would you even want to do this, anyway? For those games that don't provide an SDK?
How about an actual screenshot of the thing you're encouraging us to download? :-p
Still can't attach news articles to Source. Someone needs to change its permissions.
That font size makes my eyes hurt. :-(
That reminds me of a Dystopia map, oddly.
You submitted this as a game, you ninny! :-p
Thanks whoever attached this to Source. I didn't have the right permissions for some reason.
Now there's a twist on global holocaust I never thought I'd see...
I like how the preview's filesize is four and a half times larger than the actual image's. :p
YOU ARE ALL SO SMALL. IS FUNNY TO ME.
Blimey. Was this only just made?
Me woife! Moira! NOOOOOOO!
The review is as great as always, but that skit is legendary. :)
Can't believe I've only just discovered these! They're brilliant fun, and cheap too! :-)
I don't know who's voting these comments down, but it's easy to imagine that burying embarrassing facts is the kind of thing this mod team is used to by now.
Isn't this is the hijacked/stolen one?
I'm going to be adding the best ones myself. :-)
You can't use them any more.
Very nice. :)
You'd need to customise its VMTs for that. I've not looked into it yet, but there don't _seem_ to be any changes to the UV map.
Well that was useless. You can't read any of the text! Always nice to hear a bit of Monkey Island though. :-)
This has some pretty cool moments in it. It's worth playing. :)
Looks like comedy material to me! :)
Like I said in the image comments, the eyelids need relaxing.
Next time, I'd leave the news post until AFTER your file is available. :-p
So, uh, what does this actually _do_?
Those walls either need to be a lot bumpier or have a smoother texture applied. :)
Wow! He's still slightly creepy...looks like relaxing the upper eyelids a little will help.
I had to run Stalker with such low settings that this is actually comparable to it. It'll run faster too I image. :)
Looking at what you've produced, it seems more likely to be PEBKAC to me. How on earth did you cut off the first half of each image element?
Are you these guys?
Bad filename! This is only a trailer. :)
Fantastic texture work. :)
A big part of the look is $detail. Developer.valvesoftware.com
Great changes, especially linking news to profiles. Just get prettier game icons! :-)
Please upload these images to your group profile, then replace the huge images in this article with the embed link. :)
Heh, I like it! :)
What mod? What game? Why should anyone download this if they know nothing about what's in it?
Some of these remind me of the night missions in Ground Control. The Ground Control missions had building lights to break up the bluegrey though...
Do these pass sv_pure checks?
No site problems here in England.
Aren't these provided with the game?
I don't want to rain on your parade, this is good work, but are you aware of Cinematic Physics?
I liked first fling puzzle, and the one beneath the grating was clever too. But the rest of the time this map suffers from repetition. What's fun once isn't necessarily fun five identical times in a row! I ended up cheating past the door sequence, it was so tedious. Still, it's worth downloading...and congratulations on nailing the visual style. :-)
(What's the filesize about? Custom texture or no, it's not THAT big a map!)
What game should we run this under?
Incidentally, I didn't make this mod. I just submitted the news. :)
You don't need the soundcache version. The engine will build them if they aren't there, and building them is far faster than downloading them.
Excellent. Ravenolm is one of the best SP mods made for HL2 as far as I'm concerned, and it's great in co-op too. :)
Definitely a good effort. It's a little fiddly at times, but the quality makes up for it. :)
It's not a good idea to go with your own visual style though. The plastic megablocks just aren't as good as the default metal and only serve to confuse.
The room reminds me of Splinter Cell for some reason.
A soundscape is far more useful than an ambient_generic, unless your map is entirely outdoors and the rain sound never changes.
I don't understand why you hollow the brushes? You'd want rainfall in the middle of the brush too! :)
The player's gauntlet looks truly incredible in the first shot. :) There's a bit of a wet look about quite a lot of the other surfaces though.
How fast are the animations now?
Yes indeed, very cool. :)
The colour palette is very nice. :)
Going to upload it? :p
You've got some sort of hotlink system 401'ing the images.
20 bullets at 550/minute? That should be...interesting. :p
This is a little much to swallow on a bandwidth cap. Any chance of a YouTube version?
Great recording, I'll be keeping it, but the models are indeed a bit limp.
Is this the third or fourth medieval combat mod? They do seem to be pretty popular on Source.
Now THAT is a level. :)
Not bad at all. :)
That is really, really good. The only thing I can suggest is using a muddier water texture: when it's reflecting it's great, but when it's at a shallow angle and you can see right through to the grass, it's not so convincing.
Also, how have you managed to extend Source's draw distance quite so far (assuming it'll be like that in-game)? Early access to the Ep2 codebase? :p
What, your Steam account? What's stopping you from getting it back?
Hopefully someone will spot it in the source code if you can't fix it. :)
Is that an HL2 barrel? :s
Loving the third shot! :) Is that in-game?
What game is this for? What is the mod about? Why should we download it? All you've provided us with is an FTP directory and a meaningless changelog!
Are those model renders on a painted background? Looks incredible whatever the media. :)
It would be nice if you could take this opportunity to brighten things up a bit...
If there's no atmosphere, there shouldn't be any fog. ;) Nice shot all the same. It's good to see a D3 game with sharp textures.
Now that is nice.
Er, a client for created servers? Which of those is it?
Well. That's different.
The legs should be the Technic rods.
This file is downloaded through Steam as a part of the RO SDK. If you've got the SDK, you've got this guide.
Uh-oh, pickups can be affected by physics now. Very bad move. Half the time a pickup would be thrown into the shadows.
I was just thinking how terrible those models were when I realised it was an RTS. Showing off closeups of your soldiers so that they appear to be FPS characters isn't going to leave a good impression...nice work though, now that I know what it is. :)
Could I just ask how the hell you shipped a beta where players are completely invisible?
Somebody get online, I want to give this one a go. :)
Don't worry folks at home, it's a lot more colourful than this screen makes out. :)
I can always tell when you're working, because it's the only time you are on Friends...;)
I love the variety you guys have got. This map looks really interesting. :)
Congrats everyone. :)
More good news this evening!
Brilliant...time to take her for a spin. :)
Yeah, it's lots of bump mapping. Looks incredible! Are you guys going to add phong shading too?
Great work on the lighting, especially in the first and third shots. :)
No offence or anything, but what's this got to do with ModDB?
Loved the spooky fields, but three times? I ended up noclipping past the third one. Too much of a good thing...
Damn, you made me think you had a random map generator. ;)
Sort this out for me...is Far Cry's HDR actual HDR, or just bloom?
I like. :)
It's currently a very long stream of unbroken text. How about some images to break things up a little?
Is it just me, or is that water not displaying HDR?
Slightly more pleasing to the eye than your average hacker..;) Good work guys.
Nice, but the pommel is a little low-res don't you think?
Hawt. Could use some bump mapping on the doors and tires though. :)
That is AWESOME! :D Incredible work!
I wonder what they'll whinge about this time...;)
Victims of your own success. ;) Congrats guys.
I hate to say this, but as soon as Massive or VU get wind of this you'll be hearing from their lawyers.
The flamethrower rocks - and I'm not just saying that!
This is heavy stuff - best of luck guys! I hope you can pull it off. :)
So is this a 'wide-band' linear mod, where you do the same thing every run through but can go about it in different ways?
MK = short for mark. Mammoth Mark Mark II? ;)
When I was still into that stuff, I once made a model Stealth fighter. That first shot looks just like it before it got painted. Superb! :D
Best of luck and all, but I can't help but feel you are underestimating the amount of work, dedication and skill and experience such a complex idea can take.
Very chunky models. I think they'll work though. :)
It's a different game, not just the next point release of RO. They've got an engine license, you can bet they are going to use it!
If you have the appropriate permissions:
Control Panel > Choose the mod from the drop-down box > Team > Manage
Otherwise, I think you'll need one of us to do it for you.
If I'm making multiplayer, I want lag compensation. If I'm making singleplayer, I want an existing story to plug into. So no, not me.
Definitely going to give it a whirl though: if nothing else, it's good practice for potential industry work. :-)
I remember reading a lot of the Windows Live EULA because it was actually written in a very approachable style. Frontloading the useful information was helpful too.
Never bothered with any others.
We keep a phial of pixie dust, and use a pinch every time we want to add a new game.
The Edit Group page is broken: Moddb.com
Yes, it is "entirely" Steam. It's on the retail discs.
I like how "21st century" and "modern day" are different choices. ;)
I'm on an 8MB package, but the actual top speed we get this far from the exchange is 5MB.
Adventure (Machinarium), rhythm (Audiosurf).
Where on earth do mod teams get $300 from? :-P
It looks okay in the thumb, but check the whole image. The rocks in the mid-ground have textures that would make HL1 blush, and you can count the individual polygons on the mountain in the background.
This is a nice demo for their art department, but not so much for their graphics tech!
DOW2 is £10/$20 on Steam today! It's a ridiculous bargain. I'm getting it now. :)
I'm getting this issue, but worked around it by extracting the mod manually. But I can't avoid the configuration tool popping up the same message. Could you upload a fixed version of that one file somewhere? Don't want to download the whole mod again for it.
(BTW, the config tool requires admin privileges to run! Just an annoyance.)
I've never understood that. The tools they use, Photoshop and so on, are *exactly* the same on Windows! :s
I could swear I played that level yeeeaaaaarrs ago. Was it released under a different name?
Best-looking custom NPC I've ever seen, anywhere. Now make it work. :)
This was fixed in the patch. You must have installed it wrong, somehow.
GIMP VTF plugin: Moddb.com
Tracked down the problem with Silverfish. New download is here:
I'd look into the crash then. Presumably since the OB works you don't have any custom code, which narrows the surface area you need to search considerably. To start with did you add sourcetest to your SearchPaths? It should come just above hl2.
Use AppID 215 (Source SDK Base), which was created precisely so that mods wouldn't run into these problems. Then use AdditionalContentID to mount the game you were using before if you're missing any content.
It ran for me (w7 x64) once I put it into Windows 95 compatibility mode, but it looked terrible. Entities were being drawn as icons (torch/eyeball sprites hovering around) and it was all fullbright. :/
I don't like the design too much.
First, it doesn't make much evolutionary sense. Why would a worm-like creature hoist itself into the air like that, needing constant effort to stay upright while fighting against a raised centre of gravity? Coiling around on the ground is more logical.
Second, the model is overly simple: I see a tube with a blob at the end and some fangs. It doesn't match the amazing player models at all. I don't think the opaque sac is helping matters either, though since it sounds like translucency is an upcoming engine feature maybe that will change.
I can't quite believe how much fun that looks like. I hear "lowgrav" and immediately the shutters start to come down, but you've completely smashed through them. :)
Heh, I was walking across Piccadilly Circus only a few hours ago. :)
Nice church. Don't think I've ever seen a mod using the Lost Coast stuff.
Mapping for HL2 is quite different from mapping for Thief. :s
I assume that these aren't tied in with Steam.
Nothing to do with lapsed Catholics then?
What do you expect? The scarce details we do know aren't very well suited to a profile on this site.
Make a news post if you want to add more information. :)
It exists, but I somehow doubt that it /works/. :-P
Superb writing as well. In fact I'm not /quite/ convinced that it isn't a sound clip from a film... :-P
Thanks for sending us all your PDBs, guys. I'm sure there's someone happily reconstructing your source code right now. :p
Here's a save that crashes the game as soon as you load it:
The hanger and Destroyer looks beyond gorgeous, but only serve to make the deafening visual noise of the exterior stick out even further! Are those asteroids sugar-frosted or what? :-P
Analogue input will be wonderful!
There's a link on the Source SDK's main menu.
Unfortunately, managing units between battles is exactly what I can't be bothered with; largely because I don't want the hassle of losing all of my good ones on a bad day and having to grind against players with an advantage over me to build them back up. A per-game point- or slot-based selection system like Ground Control's would be far preferable to me.
I was under the impression that you had to manage persistent armies on a persistent world map.
I love RTT games like this, but I don't have the time to dedicate to something of EIR's scope. Is there a quick-match option?
It uses Ep2 content. All the SDK Base gives you is HL2.
Quite right. It isn't balanced very well on Hard. :)
I'm stuck at the first big Antlion battle. I can't find anything to interact in the room - am I meant to just sit it out?
Portal 2 was announced at GDC. :-)
It's working now. :)
How do you specify multiple images? I've refreshed my cache but there's still only one input box.
I expect that'll come with the other in-game tools.
You need HL2. You can always tweak the gameinfo.txt to run from Source SDK Base if you know what you're doing though. :)
Wow, nice timing. I only recently started a gun-free mod myself. :-)
BTW, these are great screens! The art direction is far better than C&C3's.
Hey, you used my article! Awesome. :)
There are two squads to filter weapons to different ranges. Combine_s with shotguns (i.e. squad one) can advance freely right up to the rebels, but the ones with SMGs (squad two) hang back behind the battle_line.
Do you have original copies of those images? They're awesome, but the resizing and compression have really messed them up.
Calling that a "review" is pushing the limits of the English language somewhat. ;) Congrats anyway! :)
Yeah, the head is great but the rest needs work.
I knew these guys were working on Iron Grip, but I never realised they were roving microphones for hire. :) This sounds (don't even think it) like it could turn out really well for modders across the board.
Also, congrats on the Valve contract, SV! Blowing up REAL bridges? You've got style!
Huh, I thought we squashed the steam:// URL thing a while back. Let me try in a comment: Run
Those are some incredibly tasty textures. Are you using $detail?
Bribes worked for me...
It doesn't make an appreciable difference on my system.
I don't know what it is about the soldier pic, but something seems very off. Perhaps the oversized helmet?
Does little to advance the plot? It does the same or more as HL2, crammed into a third of the time! :p
That really does look quite spectacular, the UI especially. A far cry from those horrible orange-baked maps of yore.
I've got to laugh though...going out on a whim? Now there's a mixed metaphor if ever I saw one! :p
Seems like an interesting idea. I'll have to give it a download when I next install 2K4.
Loving the heavy punk model. :D
That will be sorted out soon enough, don't worry. People come online at different times. :)
