Since 2004 I've taught myself, and others, in just about every discipline the Source engine offers.
If you still haven't compiled, you're highly likely to run into tens of problems when you do eventually make the leap. Unless a map has leaks, there is no such thing as "not ready for compiling".
I don't think anyone knows yet.
Really? I uploaded the file from a URL so I've never had the chance to open it.
I don't think it's too far off the mark. These things are either about blackmail or ego.
If I'm making multiplayer, I want lag compensation. If I'm making singleplayer, I want an existing story to plug into. So no, not me.
Definitely going to give it a whirl though: if nothing else, it's good practice for potential industry work. :-)
I remember reading a lot of the Windows Live EULA because it was actually written in a very approachable style. Frontloading the useful information was helpful too.
Never bothered with any others.
What a pleasant surprise. :-)
We keep a phial of pixie dust, and use a pinch every time we want to add a new game.
The Edit Group page is broken: Moddb.com
I'll second the comments, er, comment. I guess we can always open forums, but comments are so much simpler!
Yes, it is "entirely" Steam. It's on the retail discs.
I like how "21st century" and "modern day" are different choices. ;)
I'm on an 8MB package, but the actual top speed we get this far from the exchange is 5MB.
Adventure (Machinarium), rhythm (Audiosurf).
env_projectedtexture. Set the texture to project through an input.
Where on earth do mod teams get $300 from? :-P
Steam > Games > Right-click on game > Properties > Language > English
It looks okay in the thumb, but check the whole image. The rocks in the mid-ground have textures that would make HL1 blush, and you can count the individual polygons on the mountain in the background.
This is a nice demo for their art department, but not so much for their graphics tech!
DOW2 is £10/$20 on Steam today! It's a ridiculous bargain. I'm getting it now. :)
I'm getting this issue, but worked around it by extracting the mod manually. But I can't avoid the configuration tool popping up the same message. Could you upload a fixed version of that one file somewhere? Don't want to download the whole mod again for it.
(BTW, the config tool requires admin privileges to run! Just an annoyance.)
It almost never lets up from start to finish, yet most of the time you can't actually harm the helicopter. Plus you're sprint-jumping along a quay without any context or any aim in mind.
What you've got is a section that might work as part of a large whole, if it was smaller / included a vehicle.
I've never understood that. The tools they use, Photoshop and so on, are *exactly* the same on Windows! :s
It's competent but not great. The pacing is all over the place, due mostly to the near-constant presence of the helicopter.
I could swear I played that level yeeeaaaaarrs ago. Was it released under a different name?
Looks like something out of a JRPG tbh, what with all that mecha-angel stuff going on.
Best-looking custom NPC I've ever seen, anywhere. Now make it work. :)
