Since 2004 I've taught myself, and others, in just about every discipline the Source engine offers.
|all_source_engine_paths| is required for AdditionalContentID. Without it, each SearchPath is relative to the main AppID only.
How can I tell which version I have?
I'd look into the crash then. Presumably since the OB works you don't have any custom code, which narrows the surface area you need to search considerably. To start with did you add sourcetest to your SearchPaths? It should come just above hl2.
Use AppID 215 (Source SDK Base), which was created precisely so that mods wouldn't run into these problems. Then use AdditionalContentID to mount the game you were using before if you're missing any content.
It's a painted-over screenshot.
You can get Portal for free until May 24th. Yes, really.
Sounds intriguing! I love new stuff. :D
Do'h! It's 3369. This isn't a *new* patch.
Rock, Paper, Shotgun occasionally organises an AB game: Rockpapershotgun.com
Actually, Western was the default category for games without one when the site upgraded to this version. ;)
I'm using this with the Steam release and everything is working fine. Saved games are compatible, but you may have trouble loading them: Gog.com
These are really nice, but they're still not quite believable. It's hard to put my finger on what's missing...perhaps some trim where line meets wall?
The errors probably mean that the server hasn't updated yet.
It ran for me (w7 x64) once I put it into Windows 95 compatibility mode, but it looked terrible. Entities were being drawn as icons (torch/eyeball sprites hovering around) and it was all fullbright. :/
Is this in American or Australian dollars?
They don't tell you here, but you also need to download Marathon's data files from Trilogyrelease.bungie.org . Extract the files to the same folder as AlephOne.exe.
The post is fixed now. Here's what was going wrong: Moddb.com
There aren't many good mirrors left.
I don't like the design too much.
First, it doesn't make much evolutionary sense. Why would a worm-like creature hoist itself into the air like that, needing constant effort to stay upright while fighting against a raised centre of gravity? Coiling around on the ground is more logical.
Second, the model is overly simple: I see a tube with a blob at the end and some fangs. It doesn't match the amazing player models at all. I don't think the opaque sac is helping matters either, though since it sounds like translucency is an upcoming engine feature maybe that will change.
Log out of Steam, then back in.
Only one NPC can go through a pinch point at a time. If you stick one at either end of a thin corridor, navigation issues melt away. (Unless that's not the problem you were having?)
Oh my god, I get it now. This mod just became incredible. :D
Voice duck is a part of lip synching. It causes other sounds to dip when a character speaks that .wav file, guaranteeing audibility. :)
This is a fantastic little set-piece marred only by a freaky lack of lip synching. I understand that you might have made the mod on Vista or 7, but surely there's an XP machine somewhere? I'd go so far as to lip synch manually rather than ship without any. Enabling voice duck at the same time would have eliminated the need for captions, too.
Niggles, however. The main event(s) are jawdropping!
It's a single BSP file that has to be extracted to Ep2's folder and launched from the console. If that doesn't make it an addon I don't know what does.
Old news. And you spelt it wrong. :P
If anyone is reading this and has the ME editor working, PLEASE upload working wxRC and wxRes folders. The ones that ship with UDK are not compatible!
Stairs are easy once you stick a "pinch point" hint at either end.
It can only be The Nameless Mod. It's mod of the goddamn decade.
