Programmer and Musician/Sound artist with an interest in mixing the two. Also good with mapping and GLSL shaders. I'm a jack of all trades and a master at none.
Still a little shakey in terms of balance, the core gameplay is fun and does exactly what it tries to accomplish.
It's really really pretty! That being said, it's really short (nothing wrong with that, but it left me wanting more), it only rarely makes good use of the mechanics it adds, and the sound design is pretty poor. If it hadn't copypasted Quake sounds and actually integrated the rocket-jumping-style mechanic into combat itself, I'd probably give it a 10/10.
While the game is every bit as scary as it should be, campy voice acting and plot make it something like the journey of goth Gordon Freeman.
Black Mesa, after a quarter of a million years in development, has finally become worth the weight. I'm looking forward to the deathmatch and Xen additions, but what they've presented so far is good enough for a 10 in my book any day.
Pretty damn good in all the ways I expect in a standard ep2 mod.
