1. Yes, we are continuing to improve and support the game, after it has been released and is no longer part of Steam's Early Access. As far as new characters, we may see. We're trying our best to balance and polish the current characters (Pure included.) A lot of work goes into the animations, customizable skins and capes, and balance of the character.
2. You answered this question already! :) Steamcommunity.com
3. Truthfully, our playerbase fluctuates from having hundreds at any given time, to having 2 or 3 near full servers to play in. We wouldn't expect thousands of players at such an early time in the game's lifespan.
You are correct regarding when this deal begins, (after the weeklong deal from last week.)

Hey BananaPancake-Chan,
IndieDB Newsposts are approved when the Editors have time to do so, so we err'd on the side of caution and submitted this story early (maybe a little too early!) I'll edit the newspost to mention this:
The sale will begin at 10:00 AM US PST, which is when Steam's weeklong deals begin.
As somebody who has been working with popular SourceMods and has almost at this point played every single one. I applaud this effort.
This is by far, the best, hands-down, experience I've had from a SourceMod that didn't exhaust me or demotivate me in anyway.
I hope you live forever.
Some of us are JA fans, some of us never really played it. But we'll definitely admit that BS has a lot of inspiration from JA.
Have my upvote.
I believe the entirety of the team is in agreement that there would never be any gameplay differences for costumes. The talk is that the only differences would be different taunt animations and differences in particle effects for spawning.
The Source Engine license is not $15,000. We state on the kickstarter page that this push is to help pay for the remainder of what we are required to pay for licensing. This money will also allow us to put some of our own money back into covering legal paperwork and more necessary business nonsense.
We specifically chose to not entertain continued argument by replying to a lot of the posts here at ModDB. There are a lot of under-informed individuals, while well spoken, are under false assumptions.
I wanted to stop and congratulate both of you for clarifying both of these to the community. I cannot tell you, but a very severe amount of money has gone into powering continued Dystopia and Blade Symphony modification development, especially since 2003.
Ever tried living on $250 a week unemployment check, but STILL finding some way to put money back into Puny Human? I know I have.
That's perfectly okay.
We're offering this so that people who want to become a member of the PHAN Club, and also gain access to the Blade Symphony closed beta, can do so -- but are giving their money to a good cause.
It can be downloaded now, by anyone. However, to play in a server, you need to have a key for the closed beta (which we provided in this newspost) or be part of the Puny Human Appreciation Network at Punyhumangames.com
We've been giving out beta keys, which can be redeemed at Blade-symphony.com on various websites, and through our twitter and facebook feeds. Follow those, and you should get a key pretty soon. We're not telling anyone to become a PHAN to play Blade Symphony, but we are encouraging the support so that we can pay for our monthly costs (and the game servers we currently have up in Europe and Eastern United States.)
We're giving access to those that donate, but it won't be permanent. The game will be accessible by anyone upon it's release, but we don't plan on giving early access to updates for those that donate right now.
We've also updated Sidekick a few times both today and yesterday, so try running it again, and most, if not all, connection issues should be fixed.
Unless you are part of the Puny Human Appreciation Network (or PHAN Club) for short,) at Punyhumangames.com then you will need a beta key to access Blade Symphony right now.
We've also talked about having swords and other things be unlocked by Achievements and Experience. For example, the Minecraftian Minuet.
Oh hey, I totally made that comment on my other mistake account. Great!
Usages are at 0! This key has been fully used.
Stay tuned tomorrow for more information on the beta keys!
He's not joking either, we just finished implementing a code-system. We will be giving out more in the future.
Link3737, you bring up a good point.
However, I really want to assure you the utmost transparency with our spending, we just recently put up a donation meter at Punyhumangames.com and we hope in a week or two to start displaying our monthly payments for server hosting, and the fund of money that sits and gets used for monthly bills.
Also, it is not "free to play unless you donate money." We have invited countless more people to play Blade Symphony, family, friends, fans, testers, press, etc. However, people who have supported us in the past and still strive to help us out should definitely get a shot as well, so they do.
The PHAN Club program runs regardless of there being anything that is exclusive for members. These sort of releases are not permanent, they only last a short time. We don't HAVE to offer anything. We can just take the donations and scram, but we choose to give something back that is as easy as zipping up content and sending it across the internet.
Darkpivot, we've seen this once before; check your /bin/ folder inside of your sourcemods/BladeSymphony directory. If you do not have any dlls, reinstall using the base installer you downloaded. Also, re-run sidekick (it is inside that same BladeSymphony directory.)
Somewhere, a hunk of silicon, metal, gold lace and plastic sitting in a data center, storing trillions of numbers; statistics data for Blade Symphony and Dystopia, repositories for our games, tools, communication methods, test servers and so many other resources for the developers is very.. very..
happy.
District was the name of a map that some of the former level designers (before Puny Human acquired Ninja Workshop) did. It was much smaller, and only had one arena. It was also heavily based off of HL2 assets.
We don't use any HL2 assets in our maps, and if we do, they're temporary.
personally speaking, not for the rest of puny human and the blade symphony team -- everyone nominated were great, but hot damn i'm glad we lost to dear esther. that **** is soo ccassshh.
When you swing, it builds on the String Counter on the side. You can stop in between attacks, and it will reset the String Counter to 0. Watch the dots on the lower right of this video: Moddb.com
You're pretty much on the money. We're aiming for late this year, early next year anyways, but we won't be able to make it in the next 13 or so days. We were originally looking to release with our two heavily polished maps, but now the third is so far in that we'd like to release with just about all of our content.
I've probably got you all beat.
Dystopia, 2002 with HL1, moved to source in 2004/2005.
@Robert Are you creating LODs for most, or if not all of these models? It wouldn't seem like you're using that many models to begin with. Are you investigating any techniques into LOD fading? What is your methodology behind the grass, have any interesting techniques? With experience working with source, I see the potential for a lot of performance problems here, especially if you plan on going higher than 30fps than you could run the risk of killing your CViewRender.
Newman is correct. Any source game offers both the Source SDK base and Source Development kit, as well as the Orange Box counterparts.
If you're ever in a position where you do not own a source game, Half-Life 2 deathmatch is $4.99 and will allow you the capability to play any of the 8 mods available using Steamworks, and the numerous released mods listed on the Steam game mods page.
oh, you're just so precious i could squeeze you.
