Urby @ DELETE THIS MOD

I know you deleted my comment and then sent a pm, but I'm putting my response here anyway.

I don't hate your mod. You uploaded a load of screenshots of skins from other authors. That's not a mod. That's a skin pack, an add-on.

A mod has new maps, new code, etc. You're just adding skins to half life, which has already been played billions of times around the world.

Also, people upload mods on moddb to get feedback from the community. If you're not happy with people commenting on your "mod," then maybe this isn't the place for you...

The submerged.wad comes with glow textures for each of the screens and computer textures. You should add those in front of the computer or screen brushes as additive func_illusionary. It looks great. :D

What's new? It looks the same, just greyscale...

I can confirm that Ross Scott does NOT provide the voice for Logan. I think you will recognise the voice when you hear it though. :D

I started out on 1.4 back in 2008, then we upgraded to 1.8 when the team started to grow. Since then, we've modified the engine quite a bit so it's essentially a custom spirit version now.

As long as you give credit you should be fine. If you're not sure, contact Ambient Impact himself on his new site.

The mapping is ridiculously basic for the Source engine. Seriously, I've seen more detail in GoldSource mods...

You might want to check out existing sci-fi themes such as those in the Mass Effect series or other games or even movies.

Model was edited with Milkshape 3D and Photoshop. Original model came from Ambient.Impact and his old site with models is here: Old.ambientimpact.com

I love all the butthurt comments from people complaining about the free version not getting Xen, like they're asking for some ridiculous price like a AAA release.

It's probably the same ignorant people who lashed out about the development taking so long. Well, now they've released it, it's proven very VERY enjoyable, and they can make a profit by charging for it. Who knows, a well funded Crowbar Collective might be encouraged to go on and make the next GAME OF THE YEAR 20XX or whenever. They obviously know how to make a decent game unlike the EAs and Activisions of today. Hell, they even dropped the price while it's not finished. Might as well grab it now.

Otherwise, shut up, grow up and realise that nothing worth having comes free you tight fisted arseholes.

I was just thinking about this mod and lo and behold you've been online and commented.

Totally understandable about other commitments as well. I definitely know where you're coming from! Take your time.

All the best :)

She simply was never used. Technically I guess she was replaced by the alternative skins for the male guard.

The mod originally featured an edited Kate / Barniel model but it was ultimately cut.

The level design and artwork is certainly impressive. I hope you'll be sticking to They Hunger's corny B Movie style, rather than pushing the horror aspect too hard. By the end, They Hunger was more silly than scary, and that suited it just fine. Good luck with it.

Jesus... What car does he drive to get that kinda fuel efficiency!? I want want one!

And where was he driving to from New Mexico for that long? :P

This mod is OK at best. It has some really cool ideas and the new models and enemies are a nice addition. The mapping isn't anything special though and there is way too much time spend running around empty featureless corridors.

Why would you want to port "Empty Hallway" and "Revenge of the Empty Hallway" to Source anyway?

EDIT: Ignore this. The comment I was replying to got removed.

Urby @ WTBM realease date change

Personal experience has taught me not to set a release date at all until all your maps are finished and being tested. You never know what challenges life or indeed the mod itself will throw your way and having a release date might cause you to rush it out rather than properly testing and polishing what you have.

Take your time. School, careers and family are most important and sadly personal projects always have to take a back seat. Good luck with it all.
