We generally frown upon crates that just explode when whacked with a blunt object so there will be very few instances of supplies in crates. Ammo can be found in military crates that have been left open, but don't expect them to be that careless very often.

"Here is the last version of the Cinematic Mod created by Fakefactory. It will be the last one."

He only updated the Alyx model? Shame, I though he'd finally seen sense and was going to redo all the characters so they matched the originals...

I guess I won't bother getting it. :(

Thanks for the feedback everyone. It's true that there are quite a lot of low quality textures used here. This is a side room that the player can potentially walk straight past.

However, given the nature of the feedback, this area will be heavily modified. :)

Urby Nov 14 2014, 9:54am replied:

I'm sorry to hear that. Unfortunately the mod will be released using high poly models given the higher level of detail going in to the mapping. Of course, we welcome the community to work on a low definition pack once the mod is released.

MODDB is the best place to go for updates on The Core. Our YouTube channel is rarely used for The Core unless we are releasing a trailer or doing a Q&A but these are usually announced on MODDB first.

The YouTube channel is a good place to go if you're looking for footage of grown men acting like utter morons in various online games.

Urby Sep 29 2014, 9:47am replied:

Adding detail really comes down to what the area would be used for.

If it's a storage area for example, then crates are the obvious choice but try not to go nuts. You could also add trash and stuff lying around.

Also, it's open to the elements so you're going to need drainage as well. :P

Urby Mar 3 2014, 9:35am says:

Your mapping is starting to improve. One thing I always say is to try and apply some real world logic to your level design.

Ask yourself things like:
- What is this room used for? This determines what the room should contain.
-How many people would work in this room? This will determine how large the room needs to be, as well as how many desks you would need and how far it would be from restrooms and snack machines etc.
- Where is this room powered from? Would there need to be a large number of cables or piping in here? Then, how easy would it be for a maintenance technician to get to these if it needed fixing.

There's a lot to it, but you really start building up the small details this way and it helps to create a sense of place.

Hey. I want to apologise for being a **** the other day. The issue I have with these model pack mods is that they seem to enhance everything in the game except the animations, specifically the scientist's fingers and lab coats. Will you be resolving these issues?

If you do then I guarantee I will track and download this mod.

The mapping looks a little basic and blocky in the trailer. Also, some of the brushwork looks like it's been ripped directly from official Valve / Gearbox maps, specifically the large teleportation machines.

Haha. Oh I know. The citizen skins are fairly simple to alter because of the simple models. Main characters are harder due to the amount of detail the model has on its head. Even using custom normal maps can still look crappy. Thats why I suggested a different model.

G-Man is the term given to a government agent / man.

In my opinion, you should choose a different model or at least reskin the face because it does just look like gman in a different suit.
