Not quite sure I understand the concept of film grain in games. For me, film grain isn't something to be ADDED. I like a nice clear image.

Each to his own I guess.

Well, consider me told. :)

That all sounds more like multiplayer issues though. I don't think I've played HLDM seriously since around 2001? :P

Either way, don't expect The Core to work with anything other than Steam HL for the initial release since we will only be testing on the Steam platform during development.

Oh. Oh. I see how it is Crypt. Is The Core officially 'old' now? :P

You're right though. Echoes came out of nowhere and looks the tits. :P

Just FYI, you don't need to use .pak files. Just replicate the file structure within your mod folder.

Your mapping is starting to improve. One thing I always say is to try and apply some real world logic to your level design.

Ask yourself things like:
- What is this room used for? This determines what the room should contain.
-How many people would work in this room? This will determine how large the room needs to be, as well as how many desks you would need and how far it would be from restrooms and snack machines etc.
- Where is this room powered from? Would there need to be a large number of cables or piping in here? Then, how easy would it be for a maintenance technician to get to these if it needed fixing.

There's a lot to it, but you really start building up the small details this way and it helps to create a sense of place.

This is one hell of a mod. The mapping is a little off in places but the gameplay is insane. Classic.

Usually I make them myself completely.

I have to admit I cheated with this one a bit. I found the animation online by accident, then noticed that the grid fit my usual 'U' logo perfectly so I just slapped it on top.

Yeah, buy Half-Life... on Steam. We are making no guarantees that this will work in anything other than Steam HL.

I didn't notice the gameplay video either until ShouldBeNew mentioned it. The mapping needs a lot of work but the video is listed as "WIP" anyway so I guess that's a given. :P

I guess. So as long as the player accepted the G-Man's offer its the same story. :P

If he chose the battle then I guess HL2 would have never happened. Or the G-Man's would have chosen someone else to do his bidding.

But HL1 and HL2 are the same story... That's about as canon as you can get... :P

Doesn't really matter I suppose since all mods are non-canon at the end of the day.
