This is the brand new Bentusi Destroyer I made. I've spent a long time on texture trying to get a new, balanced style rather than simply following HW1 or HW2's Bentusi. All these details are drawn pixel by pixel. Hope you like it!

This so-called "news" obviously lacks reliability as we just updated latest news on FX:Commander MOD.
By the way the FREE MOD is NOT made by 9CCN. I'm really curious about where this news came from.

Hi there! this is what I've been busy doing these days. As we've planned before, from v2.0 FX will bring its original new storyline which follows the original HW2 campaign. This intro contains spoilers of campaign, original CG animation as well as the renewed units'real-time demostration in V2.0. This movie took me about 10+ days full-time and wish you enjoy it :)!
Well, we do have the original collector in use in current versions(1.88 and below) but there're some technique issues(involving bad collision detection) in salvaging debris and collecting. The new RC's length matches its width and height and that solves these problems.

Basically my modding on HW2 is because I've already been familiar with the game engine and scripts.
In fact most of the new ships are made with about the same mesh/texture complexity as the original HW2 ships(for example, a frigate may have 1k-2k triangles with a 512^2 size map). For those specially-planned Megaliths, their faces are of course a little bit higher but there will be restrictions on their numbers. Along with careful evaluations and estimations, I'm confident to say that you won't suffer major lags within the planned scale of battles:)

I've spent some time creating tiny pieces,trying to express a feeling of "detailed armor panel". I'm trying to improve tex.drawing ability as always, and I guess this is another step taken.
College life (at PKU, majoring EECS) started with a great many of affairs to deal with. However I'll still keep working on UXMOD and plz look forward to all the coming news:)!

Maybe you've noticed that I've always been struggling to develop my art skills, drawing better textures, making better shaped models etc. All these attempts are just because I want to go pro in the coming future(maybe after my university study, though art/design/3D aren't my major, I still want to realize that dream.) And this concept is a new step towards that vision.
I made this as an attempt to develop my modelling & drawing skills... My abilities on art are still far from "strong" and I take this kind of attempts as lessons. Wish you like it:)

This mesh has already been finished for nearly a year and recently I made the texture. There is only a small 512*256 map but I think it looks quite good:)

The development of Bentusi is currently stalling but that don't represent its death. FX's Bentusi is in conjection with UXMOD's development(since Ben is currently in my charge) and there will be more Ben ships :)
