Not being the type of guy who hangs out with mercenaries, I wouldn't know, however, we are adding a bunch of new weapons into the game for pretty much the same reason (including specialist weapons such as snipers, grenade launchers, rocket launchers, and more). Just a heads up though, progress is slow at the moment due to school starting back up for most of the team. It should pick back up in a few weeks when things get settled down. ;)

Well, from watching the video, it looks like (this is going to sound awkward, but I don't know how to phrase it) their back legs are being lifted up too high. Um, put another way, they're kicking their feet back up towards their butts as they walk. It also looks a little like they're walking in zero gee (swinging their legs back and forth too much). I'm pretty sure a large part of it is just the speed at which they move (most easily seen in the Elites). My only suggestion for the walking animations is to speed up the infantry units to a jog, then film yourself jogging/running and base your animations on that. You can also tilt them forwards a little bit to make the jogging look more realistic. Shorten strides, tilt forwards, add some bounce, and it should look a lot better. I'd tell you to move every bone as they walk, but you seem to have that covered. ;)

P.S. I think I figured it out: it looks the the infantry units are loping instead of jogging.

Basically the same problem with the death animations - speed. Short of applying rag-doll physics to dead bodies, all that you can do is speed up the animation and give it more movement (and just a little bit of bounce). Right now it looks more like sinking into quicksand than falling onto the ground.

Gotta say though, the vehicle animations look fantastic. (Especially the pelican takeoff/landing. Love it, great work!)

Other than that, just make sure that you rotate everything a little bit every few key-frames (side to side, up down, whatever, just rotate a bit), it makes the motion look a little bit more natural. Oh, one last tip, always, always, always remember to save often. ;)

I know you've probably answered this a million times already but:

1. Will most land vehicles be able to splatter infantry?
2. Will you be changing the infantry walk/run/fire/death animations to look more halo-esque/realistic?

Because Alpha Halo is infinitely superior to Delta Halo, and you know it. ;P 'Hope you'll upgrade the texture on the gas giant, 'cause it looks a bit like a water planet at the moment. ;) The rest looks absolutely phenomenal, especially the skybox and the surprising detailed halo; excellent work!

Can you access Ctrl + Shift + Esc? (Tskmngr.exe) 'Cause if you can, try running 'explorer.exe'. I had a problem similar to this once, and it had something to do with explorer.exe (desktop & most windows services) being deleted from the load at startup list. (You can log on, but nothing except the background loads, right?)

EDIT:

Oh, and see if you can boot up safe mode with command prompt. If you can, you should be able to execute a system resort, which will revert your computer to pre-service pack 2 with your files intact.

If that doesn't work, I suggest taking your hard drive to the local computer shop, and asking them to recover it (that way you'll still have everything that was on your hard-drive, though you'll still have to re-install windows).

We were planning on doing something like that, but I guess it got scrapped. So its a separate unit now, instead of part of the station.

Well, Gamma's in South Dakota on vacation, Six seems to have vanished without a trace, Hockey is playing Halo: Reach & CoD Blackops, I'm in the middle of nowhere with horrible internet, Balkoth is... well... Balkothian, FranzScotland has finally been defeated by punctuation, RC-3556 is surrounded by Redcoats in Britain, Commander Dimal was demoted to Junior Private Negative First Class, then promoted to Staff Sergeant, then transferred to North Dakotalahoma, then promoted back to Commander, RC Luis is offline, Prudii got turned into a Newt - we're hoping he'll get better, Jaicer is updating steam, and Hooper flew over the chicken coop. In short - we're on vacation. I'll try to post an update pretty soon. ;)

Here's a quick summary of the maps and their state of readiness:

Map Pack 1:
Geonosis Maps: READY
Jabiim Maps: 80% READY
City Map: Six still needs to show me the vid... >_> But, knowing him, probably around 60-80% READY

Once we finish the animations for them. The jury's still out on Dual Pistol's though. I'm personally not a fan of dual-wielding, so we'll probably include both single, and dual pistols in the armory.

You are, of course, correct. However, this particular MuddyTrooper has been stationed on the RAS Prosecutor, and thus, doesn't have any much to walk in. The Jabiim variants will look slightly different (more muck & muck on the feet). Oh, and there are ranked variants of these guys. ;)

I've read LoE. (I've read a good chunk of the Star Wars books out there), and yeah we don't really like t copy things directly and incorporate them into the story. We might do an extra mission with it, but not in the main campaign. Like the Tantive IV mission. ;) As for the MPs, they're featured on a non-Courascant city map. We haven't really decided which planet it's gonna be on yet, but its not Courascant. (Courscant's MPs are the Guard, and later the Shock Troopers)

We'll update as soon as we have something to show. (Which should be soon since I just graduated, and most of the team is on summer break). We'll post pics of the maps as soon as we get them to the internal demo stage. We'll put out Map Pack 1 (essentially the public beta for several of the maps) once the maps are ready (sorry, no real ETA at the moment, still waiting for the vid from Six). Send us some screenshots of your work, and we'll look it over. ;)

As soon as it progresses to a releasable beta form (small number of bugs, reasonably polished layout). I'll be able to give an updated ETA once Six gives the team an update. ;)
