There will be multiple shellmaps, changeable through the launcher. 3 different will be available in the demo. There definitly wont be one shellmap for each faction - to much work for such a little gimmick.
Do you have any other mod installed? Is your game patched to 2.01?
Yeah, RotWK 2.02 is in fact a mod. Official patch is 2.01. So uninstall 2.02 and it will work. If that is not working, uninstall the addon, delete the folder after it so that there are no rests of any mod and install the addon and the mod again.

Not all of this can be fixed, because it is an error in the engine and we cant do anything about it. The reason why this happens is this: the engine is calculating the way a units walks when a click is done, same for the AI. The AI usually gives their units one order to go across the whole map and attack. When you build buildings in their way, they'll ignore it, because their walking way was calculated prior and the way was free at this time. This will mostly likely not happen that often anymore, since the walls are there since the beginning of the map, but it could happen with closed gates. We saw that the behavior decreased significantly in the demo, but it is not completly away. So 99% of the time units wont run through your closed gate, but in 1% of the time it could happen that enemy units will run through it.

We also do not have any interest in getting money involved in this project anyhow. We are fans and doing this for fans.
My last statement regarding donations was this: If you have the money to donate something, donate it to a charitable organization. There are clearly places where money is rather needed than in our pockets. ;)
I remember that I once started adding passengers to ships for another mod, but I only finished the evil ships. They then had Corsairs and Haradrim on the which were able to shoot. But it was a hell lot of work for this little effect. I think a gave the assets to our team leader years ago but is was never integrated. Just searched for screens but could not find them. But as said: it is propably to much work for that little effect.
Last news post was 8 days ago, we posted a new render yesterday. So no, we are not working on the mod anymore.
Also SAGE 2.0 is Not a real thing, rather some graphics improvements.
And honestly, it is Youtube... Reading youtube comments is a pain in the *** 90 % of the time. It is better to ask question here or on the modding-union.
And since the Demo will be ~2 GB, future updates will probably be released as patches to keep the download small. The new launcher will also install updates.
Keep in mind: this is a mod, not an official expansions. There can be bugs, also bugs that crash the game. We cant find all of them. Simply report what you did right before the game crashed so that we can figure out what made the game crash and we can fix it. A post like "my game crashed" is not helping anyone - we cant help you because we do not have a description what you did and you are not helping us because we cant fix it because of the same reason.
As far as I know this is a video of a submod for Edain made by Russian fans. I think it is called "Farm Submod" or something like this.
There are more people playing than ever before, looking at the launcher statistic. But you are right, written activity is low at the moment.
To continue this: the launcher / switcher is made with Visual Studio 2013 in VB.net and the installer with NSIS.
How about submods not supported by the switcher?
Very nice findings! I am very excited to see how far you can get this. If you find a way to add the factions for CaH without deleting anything really necessary just let me know. And you are right, this could really be usefull for Edain. :)
Edit: We could talk about integrating this into the Edain launchers if it really works. Just keep in mind: copyright here in Germany is very strict, so removing the CD Check would be a no go for Edain.
Do you get a specific error? Do you have .Net Framework installed? Which OS are you using?
The shellmap is the map which you see in the background of the main menu of the game.
Thats a bug from the original game, not the mod and we cant do anything against it.
You can try it, but is probably not helping. Are you getting any error message?
Is the Main game working? If not: Open the switcher, go to Tools and options and click on "Fix a not starting game".
We are planning to add more and more factions to the Demo. So the first version will only include the four said factions but we will release Updates for it with new factions. So there would rather be a modular extention than a sudden Full release version.
Yes, 4.0 will have Full wide screen Support. Even in 3.8.1 you can Set any resolution in the switcher, but Most graphics are stretched in wide screen.
The official online servers from EA are down. So no need for an EA account. Tunngle is an VPN client that lets you play the game via a VPN connection with others. Same as Hamachi or others.

Download Tunngle, create an account and install it. Then open the switcher, go to Multiplayer and launch tunngle. It will automatically log you in into the right network. Now just ask if someone wants to play in the chatroom.
Open the Switcher, go to submods, uncheck the submod.

That version also has an installer, so no worry about copying the file to the wrong folder.
