Make sure there is no weird letter in the pathname where you save your file. Only use standard letters.
Delete all the files in the download folder, then right click the Edain Mod launcher and select "Run as Administrator" and search for updates again.
Download 4.3 and the launcher. Install the 4.3 first, then the launcher, then search and install 4.3.1 through the launcher.
Which server did you select? Also dont click the button while it is still searching for udpates. There is a bug right now that makes that possible sometimes. Also check which files are in the Download folder inside your Rise of the Witchking folder.
Disable auto update and search for updates manually and try again. Also: which server did you choose?
Then download said file and try again, it should work then.
What is your problem?
Moddb.com download that one, install it and try updating again.
Download the launcher update here Moddb.com , install it and try again.
Double click the Edain Mod Launcher icon on your desktop. Go to options and tools, select English in one of the boxes.
You need to reinstall the game too, not only the mod!
The exact reason is written here. The paths are written into the registry during installation of the game, if you change the paths afterwards, then those registry strings are not correct anymore and the updating wont work. So put the files back into the original installation path or simply uninstall the game and the mod and install it again to refresh the registry strings with the actual path.
Install the launcher update via downloading it from this page and try again. Also: there are some occasions when the update button is press able while it is still searching for updates. Don't do that.
Because it is in that game. The engine is programmed like that.
Close the launcher via task manager and try again.
Search for updates again, maybe one file wasn't updated.
The Main graphic wasn't switch. You have 4.3.1 if you have the map.
Just download the file again, there probably was an error during your download thats why the download got corrupted.
Could you please elaborate how you fixed it? Or did it simply work on your own?
I totally am investigating that issue a lot the last few days and I kinda think its connected to the windows updates from Tuesday, it seems the launcher simply doesnt get the necessary rights while those are installed / downloaded. As soon as they are done its working fine again. Completly weird.
No, but it will be installed nevertheless if you search and install updates.
Download the launcher update here:
first and then try again.
Seems you havent played fortress maps in 4.3.1. The AI now builds the necessary buildings and therefore the units on fortress maps too.
Damn it. Still have no idea why this error happens...
I'll look into it again on the weekend. I cant reproduce the error sadly, so I cant test if i fixed it...
For now: i can just say, try again. Everyone else got it to work at some point.
What exact message is appearing?
Please list the files in your lang folder in the rise of the witchking folder too.
Download the launcher update here:
and try again.
The auto run when you enter the DVD? Autorunning any device is turned off as a standard on windows since windows 8.1. Thats probably why.
First error is fixed in 4.3.1.
Second error can be avoided by downloading the launcher version 18.104.22.168 here, installing it and then search for updates again.
Did you actually try the things mentioned in the thread? What message did you get?
I really don't think it was an issue with the launcher. Because the one with the message is exactly the same in the update system as 22.214.171.124 except the message.
Multiple people already told about that problem and I can't find the error. The problem is that this problem usually goes away on its own. So restart your computer. If that's not working try re-installing the mod.
The launcher is working on every OS supporting .net framework 4.0, so starting at windows xp. Something is definitely blocking the launcher from downloading. I have never heard of your firewall. The windows firewall usually is enough though. So try uninstalling your firewall.
