Well, then something is blocking pinging in total on your system. It is most likely your router. So check it settings and do some research regarding pinging issues and your router.
As said before, it could also be your AntiVirus or firewall, so maybe a research regarding these and pinging is also usefull.
Simply google something like "[routername] pinging" or "[antivirus name] pinging"-
Make sure neither your firewall, nor your Antivirus nor your Router is blocking the launcher and pinging events. To check this, open the command line (type cmd.exe into the search bar) and write "ping modding-union.com" if you do not get a resp> something is blocking pinging. You get a resp> something is blocking the launcher.
Concerning the second one: We know about this and its not a bug regarding Gondor, but is connected to the Dwarven AI. So if you play against Dwarves this intense lagging can occur. We are currently investigating it.

Open the launcher, click update.
There seemed to be an Intel graphics driver update via Windows Update which leads to the game crashing. Delete the newest driver,report the issue to intel and install an older driver version. If you have a dedicated graphics card and an Intel chip make sure the game is using the dedicated one.
Do the same thing with the Battle for Middle-Earth 2 string.

Try installing the DirectX version found on the DVD / CD of your game. Newer version than 9.0c tend to skip some essencial 9.0c files.
Weird error for WotR. We know that there currently are crashes in WotR, but these usually happen after some time in a battle, not when you start one. Normal skirmish is working fine?
No help without further information. :P When did the crash happen? Do you have the latest updates installed?
You should also check your registry strings. The games installer is creating a registry string with its InstallPath, could be that these are wrong. Check out these strings:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Wow6432Node \ Electronic Arts \ Electronic Arts\ The Lord of the Rings, The Rise of the Witch-king key is InstallPath.
Please check with and without Wow6432Node. Are both there? Is the InstallPath correct?
The md5 hash is calculated when you search for updates, it does not need to be in the INI file.
This thing was also visible in BFME 2 when you build walls. Enemys often ran directly through your recently build walls. This is not fixable, since it is, as said, an engine issue.
As said multiple times, this is caused by the way the game handles pathfinding and we cant do anything against it. The path of a unit is only calculated once when the order is given. The AI is giving the order to attack you while their unit is still in its on base. At the moment your gate is still open. If you now close the gate in the meantime, the unit ignores it, because it prior calculated path says that it could go there. This should only happen in early stages of the battle when the AI did not see your base yet. Not that often in late stages, because it already saw your base and then tries to attack the fortress.
No need to uninstall. Read the fat line in the summary regarding common issues. Click the link and read point 1. Be aware that your savegames are lost after this, so make an backup of you savegames if you need them.
We are aware that there is some crashes that only happen in War of the Ring mode, we are currently investigating them and will try to fix them.
When exactly is the game happening? When you click on Skirmish or War of the Ring or directly after clicking "Play" in the launcher?
Btw: You cant have 3.8.1 and 4.1 installed at the same time.

Open the launcher, go to the options, click on "Fix a non starting game". Its a bug of the game on Windows Vista and further.
Looks like an error while downloading the mod. Download it again.
Try uninstalling the mod, then RotWK and install everything again. There seems to be a problem with your registry strings.
The launcher is using registry strings for the update. If none of the big files is found then you do not have the mod installed in the original RotWK folder. The mod needs to be in the folder where RotWK was installed originally, since the launcher is using these strings to check the path.
I wont say its completely balanced, we know there is still things that need some tweaking. But I think the main thing that is already working is that there is nothing anymore which is totally OP and you are winning every game with it - at least we hope so.
There is nothing from the 3rd hobbit movie because most of this was stupid. We are trying to make a more Tolkien like mod, not a mod thats adds slapstick action like the 3rd movie.
Most of these comments here are people complaining that their previous tactics from 3.8.1 dont work any more, because they were overpowered in 3.8.1 but are not anymore.
3.8.1 had totally overpowered archers, you could win a game without building any other unit. We changed that. So the point you are speaking up to is wanting overpowered archers back - that wont happen.
