This member has provided no bio about themself...
Yes, it's still a wip though.
It is an amber hue due to it being dusk. There is a green aura that is only visible closer up and when it's darker atmospherically.
This is an unedited first person perspective taken at ground level with the fov increased from default 75 to 90.
thank you :)
...that sure is a rather big Eagle...
Yeah, I can do that if you don't mind my perspective.
For the record though, I've been working on my own esps and have changed things up quite a bit to help portray mainstream LotR...
(Moddb comments are broken)
Middle-earth has such a lengthy time-line, 100 year old trees are just juveniles...
Yes, it's just out of frame, there's a small waterfall on the right...
It's a sunny midday image near the Elven Kings Hall...
I could have chosen a pitch black time of night during a thunderstorm, but ALL detail would have been lost. ;)
That's only one of many, I'll upload some very nice smaller black ones soon.
It's Ered Luin, south. The Gulf of Lune is at its base.
- facing the setting Sun and polished bronze, it's very realistic.
Well, if you're familiar with ME and this UI, you'll see that it's much less than 1/4 of what's typically shown. It's really big, the max. in fact!
MERP is essentially 7 times the size. ;)
Thanks, clarity should be very good, regardless of no ambient lights. I actually added the campfire to increase visibility and it's a clear night with a partial Moon too!
All details should be visible.
I'll check the image on a 3'rd party pc tomorrow, it's supposed to be very dark because its 2AM, but all details are entirely visible to me. Anyone else? This would mean all my images are inherently dark and this is not good.
(100% in-game image) Everything present should still be quite visible, including my character on the bough. ;)
There won't be a fast travel option like TES4 in the future, so waypoints are highly unlikely. We're focusing on realism and jumping around in our game just isn't appropriate.
Texture size needs to be set to large in MERP.
I'm a scenic landscape junkie...I actually took 5 images from this location, all with different weather types. This one was the prettiest imho. :)
Thanks! But this how my game actually looks. :)
HDR is enabled, HDR weather mod, game brightness turned way down, texture mods, ini changes and display settings adjusted to my tastes etc.
Just one crazy little white bunny for now ;)
There was never any mention of the absence of trees in the time of the LotR.
The movies are not lore accurate.
Trees grow quite quickly compared to the time-line of ME...and add nice details as well!
This is the ferry at Bucklebury.
My camp in the Trollshaws...
Aragorn and my character don't always get along. :D
It's a shot from the northern side of The Gulf of Lune looking towards the Blue Mountains.
There are literally thousands of Cattails and the Brandywine is beautiful. If I remember correctly this was taken near Bywater...
Nobody was home so I left a note to a friend. ;)
I actually had to turn the grass of as it was in need of some 'gardening' :D
There are so many variables.
Being stealthy and smart has it's advantages...
This mod will most certainly not die, there will always be a core of permanent members that will ensure its success.
Every week we enlist new and talented members that contribute what they can to the project.
I view MERP as a very large incomplete jigsaw puzzle: individuals bring their piece to the table, but may come and go as they wish and their contribution invariably helps the completion of the game. (and diversity)
I'll upload some new content and WIP images later this weekend.
Minas Morgul, Paths of the Dead, Spiders in Mirkwood, Dimril Dale, Morthond Vale and the Stone of Erech etc...
Lots of progress is being made!
Likely, as we already have the models, scaled to MERP of course.
Thanks, we're going for true environmental realism, it gets pitch dark at midnight otherwise.
Collisions of most branches are on, therefore you can actually navigate them if you have the acrobatics/skill, good call. ;)
No worries as there are so many great ini tweaks and performance based mods available. Having the ability to use the 4GB patch for TES4LODGen is primary for me though. I have two laptops that I run MERP on, basic and pretty good, go with the pretty good type if you can.
Actually there's surprisingly few mods in my game, but I do have a bunch of ini changes that really help extend the distances though.
I don't do the edit thing and what you see is an accurate visual representation of what your game can look like too, with the current version. (that was the idea)
The images were taken with HDR on, NE HDR Weather and Qarls Textures to name a few. Game brightness was reduced to 25-33% and my display is adjusted to my personal tastes.
Oh, and I'm using a decent laptop that has a 9600M GT, 4GB DDR3 RAM and a Core2Duo 6600 that seems quite happy with MERP. ;)
You don't have the MiddleEarth.esm? Why not?
As stated on the first line of the description, it's not available on TESNexus due to it being 555MB. You'll have to use one of the mirrors to get it.
The first line of the description states that you have to use one of the mirrors for the MiddleEarth.esm due to its large size.
Yeah, it's all vanilla TES4 gear except for the cloak. This was done for a reason.
Scale armor is far more common than (chain) mail as it's inherently very easier to fabricate, by design.
I've actually made my own personal set of armor, better than both by far.
Thank you, obviously it's strictly for no financial gain and is an entirely free RPG.
If someone doesn't appreciate this reality, oh well, sad for them. ;)
FYI, abbottaerospace is a team leader and moderator of the music and sound effects team, he's a senior member and is highly respected. ;)
Yeah, constructive criticism is all good to a point and as this is still a beta, no definitive judgments should probably be expressed.
Everything typically has room for improvement, nothing is ever perfect and will please everyone, but we're working on it! :)
Actually its only partially in the Anduin. Most river levels vary greatly year round and trees are quite often "growing out of the water". ;)
...because she can. :)
The heightmap generally speaking is not allowed to be modified. There is a very large entrenchment encircling the hill itself, its very cool. Considering the history of Amon Lanc/Dol Guldur its size and scale should be very imposing and formidable. The trees in the background are rather short so the scale isn't very clear and the image was taken from the tower itself. :)
Sorry 'bout that.
Yes, yes, no/yes! :)
This is just a conceptual replacement for the regional map. ;)
They'll only be so much diverse content especially when it comes to original stuff, maybe in the future, but these are great! Justb has done an incredible job with this aspect and we all should be very thankful.
You're right, Saurons reign is only fleeting, in my reality.
Roleplaying is primary for us at MERP. A Balrog does exist in Moria and yes you'd better run! Using a Uruk sword to slay a Balrog is ridiculous and not going to happen, period. :)
