Although at the time this may have seemed a relatively simple idea it took two months of hard graft and labour to get this mod off the ground.

This was mainly due to its one man team (ME!!) this was a preliminary feature of this mod mainly because there was no-one within my local community who knew the first thing about Half-Life let alone modding it. Even though it was mainly out of personal choice that I decided to go alone mainly because I wanted to try something different.

City 5 wasn’t as it is now the original concept was to have the player wake up in an apartment block then travel down the road and board a train that is then intercepted by the combine. The combine take your for “questioning” and then you make your escape from a combine warehouse and then escape through the city to the coast.

As I continued further into the development of this mod I realised that my relatively limited skills with hammer and the source engine where holding me back. Therefore I adopted a rather more simple approach and the result is what you see today

However now that my skill have advanced greatly I would like to return to the original concept of City 5 as mentioned a few paragraphs back. However I’m currently undergoing GCSE testing at my school and that is really cutting into my free time. However if it did re-visit it I would defiantly need help from the community for this project. Who knows maybe I will do it maybe I won’t but at the moment it’s nothing but a distant dream.
