Thanks! we're going to have a lot more of that stuff in the final release. That's meant to be a bit of a taste!
We'd love you to do that! Feel free. We just ask that you mention the Kickstarter.
Awesome! Checking out the video now.
do you have a graphics card or are you using integrated graphics from the intel CPU?
That's a bug we hadn't anticipated prior to launch. It has to do with compatibility issues. Some users have corrected this by making sure their graphics card drivers were up to date. What are your system specs?
Awesome! Thanks for the extremely kind words. We are really hoping to get people immersed in the experience, so that their reactions are based around systems and experiences. It's tricky because people don't entirely know what to expect from the experience at the moment. We need to work on that, I don't think everyone gets what we're doing yet!
Sorry about the bug, we're still working on fixing those kinks but they should be largely corrected in our next revision! Glad you enjoyed the game, and thanks for supporting our Kickstarter! Really awesome and we appreciate your support, both there and in making a video of your experience!
Yes! There are a lot of mysteries in the world of grave, and they will become a lot more present as the experience progresses. There's a few hints at the weirder stuff in the demo, but much more is coming soon!
Awesome! Great to see you got so many views. We'd love it if you could link the Kickstarter as well?
Yup. Even unspeakable horrors have to get down.
We're looking to redo a our creatures once we have the budget to move forward with it. It's been difficult so far because we need to pay a character modeler to work on those and we haven't had the resources to do so. We plan to make improvements soon.
Awesome! We'll share it around.
We're looking to release the full game in early 2015!
Awesome, thanks for playing! We're finding the balance, right now I think the game is a bit on the hard side. We'll keep tuning to find the right spot for difficulty!
Yeah, we used a couple of Asset packs as placeholders to get the content out there, in addition to our modeling efforts. The monsters are a bit further in, in true horror movie format we wanted to start out slow. :)
Thanks for the playthrough! We actually have a full story mode with multiple characters in the full game, we just haven't revealed too much of that yet. You'll see more about the narrative soon!
Did you encounter the next creature types that don't react to the flashlight? :) That may help a bit. It's been a bit about striking a balance, we want to make sure the creatures are reactive and dangerous but not so that people are constantly getting killed. We're rebalancing some of the interactions so that more tension is produced, and we'll be revealing another update soon.
We left the narrative elements out of the demo for this release, but we want to start revealing more of that very soon. This is a teaser so it's a bit vague. We'll do more to articulate the story moving forward!
Thanks for the feedback! We really appreciate hearing from our players about their opinion of the game. It helps us make it better in the long run.
Thanks for pointing out some of the control issues. There's a few things that we're just polishing and improving right now, so our next version won't have those issues.
We allowed a quick respawn for players in the demo, and it was a bit flawed. The way that will work in the final game is the time will proceed to day, and you will lose some of your inventory items.
We may actually patch the demo to work this way, it will probably be a better solution to be honest. We're working on a number of elements and it would probably benefit us to move that more in the direction of the final release.
Can you message me your system specs? We can troubleshoot the issue! It sounds like there may be some other compatibility issue.
We'll look into that. It shouldn't require 64 bit to run, and it's build for 32 bit now. One issue may be that it's just a simple zip file and isn't bundled with a DirectX installer. I would suggest making sure you have the latest DirectX End-User Runtime download. That may help
Thanks for playing the game! I posted about it on Twitter.
You should able to just pull it from the link in our Downloads section and extract!
Thanks for the support! It's always super appreciated!
Actually only a couple of enemy types will be killable by light. Most will be distracted or disoriented like you said. We had to pick the features we were going to show off first and I think made the wrong choice!
Thanks! We're working really hard on the game. We actually saw the Rake like 9 months after we created the Stranger, but I can certainly see the comparison! It's always trippy seeing all the stuff that's actually out there in horror-dom.
You initially don't know why you are there in the world. However, there's a full 5-8 hour story to progress through with multiple characters, centered around discovering the meaning of the world and meeting the people within this reality. You are forced into the world at the start, and it is your job to piece together why you are here, what the world is and why the creatures are all so strangely human.
We're currently working on a story teaser piece, we're cautious about how much we want to spoil since the whole game is very mysterious. We're going to be revealing more soon, we just want to select it carefully.
Thanks for doing the let's play! Glad you saw some cool stuff. What graphics card are you using? We saw a really limited number of test devices where showing the plants as white. That's totally not intended!
We have actually only tried it so far with the initial dev kit, we need to get ourselves the new one so we can see it in all its glory!
Thanks for supporting the game. We totally can't do it without you so it means a lot.
We've been worried about the Alan Wake comparison! We hadn't anticipated so much of that. It makes sense, but the game is actually very different. Ironic that if we'd just used guns instead fewer people would make the comparison... :)
We are making a few announcements soon about demo availability. We don't have a download currently available but we are going to have one soon. We will announce it when it is ready!
