Its only a small part of the galaxy actually. The bulges you see are the star clusters and nebulas.

This is actually not a planet cloud but a nebula. There will be as many sky domes we can produce. The planets don't move fast enough for you to see the day and night cycle. But if you could see them move yes.

To me it looks more like 2 ships combined. But maybe this could work as large repair/supply carrier.

Blobbing is still a tactic. You just have to make sure enemy is not spamming AoE ships to counter it :)

Its one of very few AISN fighters. When the ship was built it was meant more like a hot rod - not part of military - but it was so cool we had to include it.

Yes its similar in spirit but has many separate points.

1. persistent universe - what you do in any battle has effect on the vast aff unvierse
2. command point capture style RTS/no building - similar to World in Conflict
3. completely different engine designed for the game instead of AFF skin on Homeworld2
4. Team vs Team free play, join any time during the battle

RTS is played on 3 main points:

1. matching ship composition (fighter > bomber > capital ship > destroyer > frigate > fighter)
2. positional game play (kiting, arcing, fleet motion, ditection)
3. usage of abilities (shield over charge, attack buffs, repair, boarding)

Homeworld2 mostly based on resource gathering, and switching up to the next tech at the right time.

Actually the game with unreal engine is Planet Storm. Mine is a sister project on its own engine.

The art team mostly makes art.

Well we only found blobbing to be a problem in 2aw when it became the dominant strategy. Thats why we need anti blobbing features like C&C has.

We have had gun positions and ship facing but after play testing it proved to be not as fun. Try rotating N ships in 3d thats with heading and rotaiton just made the game laborious. It was a meeeeeh feature and we cut it.

Spring has many widgets that allow you to not think about spacing and formations. I also have some interesting take on micro which i will talk about later.

Yes gravity wells and other EMP tools will also help. In a way they are AoF weapons.

There probably will not be any structure building in the actual battle but we have though about building defenses when there is no battles. 2aw is all about huge persistent word (in which battles happen) this kind of building could work great.
