Disappointed the wait is extended but it's totally understandable and I'm sure it will be completely worth it ^^
Best of luck, I hope you can get back to work on Nightmare Chronicles someday
Henley you should drill a bit deeper into that amber and resurrect the Modcast, that was a good show.
Your environments never fail to impress ^^
I really dig this shot
I love how 3 years later you're the only one to post again xD
good question though, moddb error perhaps?
sweet shot, those officers are in for a rough battle
I love this game. The graphics are so accurate and the music just puts me straight pack in that weird state of mind the show always left me in.
Thanks for clearing this up, 5 maps of RE goodness sound like a gold mine to some of us =D
I couldn't agree more, expect the next set screenshots to have a very light fog effect ^^
That house is just plain creepy...I don't want to know what is on the inside
Very Impressive Shane! It's great to see the results of hours of hard work
Excellent displacement work! I love the ambience too
I felt like it was too easy for skirms too spam quick attacks until their overpowered special was available to finish you off, not to mention they could turn around and escape if got their health too low.
It looks great!
Love it. Really love it. The music makes me want to pop Dawn in again lol
The worm looks great, I remember cooking this bastard
Looks very complex, yet sexy ^^
I am absolutely in love with this level, it looks perfect for the gameplay.
Clearly the Moddb staff is okay with it so who are you to say it doesn't deserve its own profile?
By release we won't be using any of the HL2 car models, you can also expect mostly custom models to be used as well.
Thanks for the comments!
Thats some good lookin' mapping
I like the soft light source
Dawn was great because you got to see the world begin to crumble, it really set the stage and prompted you to imagine what would happen after each group you saw. For instance, you could imagine that redneck/military group eventualy running out of supplies and breaking down, succumbing to the plague etc.
But Day was very gritty and gloomy. You saw the aftermath of the aforementioned groups, the last pockets of humanity had broken down and you knew they would never rebuild. I loved the atmosphere and watching the characters descend into madness and ultimately defeating themselves.
Not to mention the zombies were awesome ^^
Nice lighting Killer xD
I agree, Quarantine was great but Day and Dawn are king in my eyes, I could never select between the two. I can't wait for Zombie Land...Anyway, great audio update, I look forward to the next!
I grow more and more impressed with each update, this mod is going to create shockwaves when it is released.
I live near Provo, woot for UT XD
Then become a texture artist and contribute to some mods ;)
Do you plan on expanding on the movie by adding in new dialogue/events?
Great art style
Fantastic concept work
Looking great as always, keep it comin!
Nice update Dave, I'm always suprised with what Torque can do with the right crew behind it ^^
I think thats the most impressive screenshot i've ever seen from a mod team...just wow
Just wanted to say, I've been waiting to see something like this for years...finaly!!
You guys have done some really impressive things with this engine, time to digout Oblivion!
It's this kind of great level design that inspires me to new heights when I'm working my own maps, great work!
Looks great, I really like the style, reminds me of HL1 days
Looks badass, keep it up!
Looks good, can't wait to play it and goodluck!
You guys are really capturing the spirit of Black Mesa
Just so ya know, the max level in Fallout 2 isn't level 20, it's 99.
This should be badass, watching
I always enjoy hearing about the reasonings and theory behind art styles and assets, great video!
It's always nice to see a great looking HL mod in the works
Very sleek gui
I received two email notifications, weird
Good luck, can't wait to finally play this very promising mod
lol "New New York"
Yeah I know, you missed the point I was trying to make. I'm saying that while moddb is fully justified in removing the mod from their site I don't think the team should have their right to make the mod stripped away from them (as Jack Thompson is demanding from Gabe Newell), no matter how trashy others consider it to be.
It's pretty much down to what the majority feels, just like with child porn or anything else, the majority has to try and decide what should be censured to protect the public, namely children.
I don't think the team behind the School Shooter mod should have their freedoms to create the mod removed by Valve as Jack Thompson is demanding, but it should certainly be tucked further out of the reach of young children and those who don't want to be exposed to such content.
The only boundaries this mod was pushing is the creators talents and creativity to it's very underwhelming limits.
I would also like to test the beta please!
Hey man love your art style
Not true at all, Afraid of Monsters was still scary as hell when I played through it with a friend
As Shane stated in the post it was just me and him working on Outbreak for the last several months and while we were making decent progress on some of the maps I lost the Raccoon City map that had been worked on for months by Shane and myself, this particular map took up a large portion of the planned first half of the mod and the loss of the map was a blow to our development.
I would also like to mention that Shane and I were the only ones left working on Oubtreak for the last several months (a modeler and mapper respectively) of development and without a dependable coder or other team members to pick up the large amount of work left it was very demoralizing.
I'm also severely disappointed that Outbreak will never reach a release but Shane and I are both huge fans of the RE universe and would never have released anything that felt less than 100% like a Resident Evil title in both spirit and gameplay and our ambitions were far beyond the amount of work the two of us could hope to match, especially without a full time coder to help realize these things.
As with most failed projects it wast a combination of many elements that lead to Outbreaks unfortunate demise but I would like to commend Shane for his dedication to this project throughout a somewhat rocky development and his determination to complete OB but unfortunately not all of our members were as dedicated as he was.
I also want to thank everyone who supported our project, it was a huge source of motivation for all of us and I'm truly sorry that we disappointed you.
It was a good run Shane, I know we both learned a lot from it and it was a great experience.
It's always great to see an update from this beautiful mod
In love with this shot, Duck Tales anyone?
Beautiful atmosphere in this video. Flesh was one of the top Mods of all time and I expect this will be right up there with it
Tell yourself whatever you want, the simple fact is you feel entitled to someones years of hard work, you actually think they owe you this game for free.
Valve felt that this project warranted a free license and granted them as much so who the **** are you to question that? Just another insignificant jerk who can't recognize or appreciate what kind effort and talent a project of this magnitude requires.
I make my own money and I respect myself enough to not fool myself into thinking that "The world owes me something and **** anyone who thinks otherwise."
For some people, intellectual and emotional stimulation can come in forms other than shooting things.
No they don't realize the amount of effort game projects take because a large amount of them are just here for free content and haven't learned to appreciate it at all.
Some of your reactions makes me wonder if everyone is here purely for the free stuffs and no other reason.
It's great to see an update!
Love the futuristic visuals, effing adore the lighting and everything about this screenshot
That was enjoyable albeit short, loved the music and backgrounds, humor was funny as well, looking forward to the next demo!
Can't wait to try this out!
Replacing all of HL2's content isn't really worth the effort to a small modding team, it takes up a ton of time and energy that could otherwise be spent making the gameplay better.
Solid low poly work ^^
I dig the movement speed and the camera has the perfect amount of drag, it's shaping up to be a fun looking concept!
The more the merrier!
Very nice, some of the areas in the other screenshots could do with a lot more detailing though
Damn this was cool of you fellas, I really hope someone creates a stable co-op version
I like the map, it's great to see an update!
Can't wait to see what youdo with the rest of the RPD and park!
I like these concept arts, very snazzy style
I love your art style
That is some beautiful CC
I love it, it really looks it could be like Raccoon
Seriously beautiful jungle there, I think you'll surprise the Sonic team :D
Great choice, it has a very unique look
Excellent view from the battlements =D
Interesting blog, I fully support the move to the UDK as it will afford you much more freedom and more people will beable to access X321 without owning Crysis.
Best of luck to you and the mod!
Yeah I know, and I meant if you ever want to play some RECB multiplyer hit me up, friend runs a server sometimes xD
I love those projectected textures! We still play RECB, let me know if you want in sometime
Great to see you are alive again, good luck! I hope we can play it soon!
Truly amazing, it looks like a top of the line title
I really like this but the yellowish brown walls look a bit off, but I'm sure it will look great with the proper lighting
Great interview, this story has really piqued my interest and it's always great to get a peak behind the scenes of such a mysterious project!
Very nice burshwork!
Can't wait to see the final version
Wow, really well done
The soldier looks superb in-game
Hey, do I know you from somewhere?
This tunnel looks great! I love the lighting and the hazy atmosphere
I agree, PB has ruined playing certain games such as BF2 and COD4 for me, I manual update, automaticly update and whatever else it tells me to do and I still get kicked out. On the other hand VAC hasn't given me any trouble if at all. I guess it really just depends on the specific user but PB has repeatedly hindered me from enjoying the games that I have spent cash on.
Bad luck for them, but at least they were ultimately recognized ^^
Looks superb, the textures really pop in the atmosphere.
Great videos, its great to watch the progression
This game is evolving into an amazingly addictive experience, I can't wait to play the new version!
Yup, Valve spoiled it's kids and look whats happening when they finaly put the cookie jar away. For being generous to it's fan base while it could, it's being punished when it no longer can.
Man, what a loyal community we turned out to be!
It's good to see that someone is still making Morrowind mods, it looks interesting, I'll have to find my copy before I download..
Great work fellas
You definetely have a full plate but I can't wait to see how this turns out!
Man, this game looks excellent
And thats the truth
This looks very impressive, definetely going to download when it's finished.
I like the architecture
Really looking forward to seeing how this will turn out, good luck!
