Yeah I know, you missed the point I was trying to make. I'm saying that while moddb is fully justified in removing the mod from their site I don't think the team should have their right to make the mod stripped away from them (as Jack Thompson is demanding from Gabe Newell), no matter how trashy others consider it to be.

It's pretty much down to what the majority feels, just like with child porn or anything else, the majority has to try and decide what should be censured to protect the public, namely children.

I don't think the team behind the School Shooter mod should have their freedoms to create the mod removed by Valve as Jack Thompson is demanding, but it should certainly be tucked further out of the reach of young children and those who don't want to be exposed to such content.

The only boundaries this mod was pushing is the creators talents and creativity to it's very underwhelming limits.

As Shane stated in the post it was just me and him working on Outbreak for the last several months and while we were making decent progress on some of the maps I lost the Raccoon City map that had been worked on for months by Shane and myself, this particular map took up a large portion of the planned first half of the mod and the loss of the map was a blow to our development.

I would also like to mention that Shane and I were the only ones left working on Oubtreak for the last several months (a modeler and mapper respectively) of development and without a dependable coder or other team members to pick up the large amount of work left it was very demoralizing.

I'm also severely disappointed that Outbreak will never reach a release but Shane and I are both huge fans of the RE universe and would never have released anything that felt less than 100% like a Resident Evil title in both spirit and gameplay and our ambitions were far beyond the amount of work the two of us could hope to match, especially without a full time coder to help realize these things.

As with most failed projects it wast a combination of many elements that lead to Outbreaks unfortunate demise but I would like to commend Shane for his dedication to this project throughout a somewhat rocky development and his determination to complete OB but unfortunately not all of our members were as dedicated as he was.

I also want to thank everyone who supported our project, it was a huge source of motivation for all of us and I'm truly sorry that we disappointed you.

R.I.P Outbreak,
It was a good run Shane, I know we both learned a lot from it and it was a great experience.

Tell yourself whatever you want, the simple fact is you feel entitled to someones years of hard work, you actually think they owe you this game for free.

Valve felt that this project warranted a free license and granted them as much so who the **** are you to question that? Just another insignificant jerk who can't recognize or appreciate what kind effort and talent a project of this magnitude requires.

I make my own money and I respect myself enough to not fool myself into thinking that "The world owes me something and **** anyone who thinks otherwise."

No they don't realize the amount of effort game projects take because a large amount of them are just here for free content and haven't learned to appreciate it at all.
