Time really flies, eh'?
Yup, indeed. Can't believe it's already that far away. :o
It just seems like the other day that I moved from RtCW MP to Wolf: ET. I've never stopped playing RtCW SP in all those years, though. It's the first thing that I install on any new OS installation :) .
Rtcw SP is the first game that I always install too. I install other games later.
Ah, I still remember those sleepless nights spent in ET. This was my first MP FPS and I was amazed by various classes and objective-based maps. This was back in 2006 when where was still plenty of people playing it. I quit playing when the only populated Russian server was closed. I tried to get back to ET, but this just not the same as it was back when. It seems there is no way back for me, but still I'm very interested in ETL development.
But there is a great ET successor, developed by Splash Damage - Dirty Bomb. It's not WW2 themed, but the core gameplay is basically copied from ET-same fast-paced objective based FPS with the same classes. Already played around 300 hours and I'm pretty satisfied with that game. And it's free by the way. And there are a lot of RTCW/ET veterans playing it.
No offense, but I don't like Dirty Bomb. WW2 themed FPS games are the best, and games set in other eras are just boring to me. Wolf ET is still alive, and I will be getting back to playing on the Fearless Assassins server that I used to frequent a year or two ago.
No offense taken. I mean, core gameplay is all what I need. I would play ET in any setting. ETQW was also great btw.
