It's basically a very standard shooter, with some sci-fi elements in it.
+Enemies die quite easily,
+I think the storyline is pretty ok
+Fairly long at around 7-8 hours
-although some seem to take 2 bullets to the head to take down..
-auto saves are really unreliable, quicksaving all the time is necessary.
-slowmo is a nice addition problem is you can't dodge bullets, it slows everything down but problem is it also slows you just as much as everyone else.. making it useless.
If it slowed you down less than the enemies then its implementation would have made sense. Especially if its bullet time.
-no lean keys, for a realistic damage shooter this would have been nice

Its Dead Island with small improvements to combat, coop and lootings but its even buggier and glitchy than the previous game. Although it is alot harder... which I would have liked if it wasn't so unfairly hard. It uses the whole waves of enemies while you defend a area (and in some instances infinite respawning enemies, these areas that you have to run passed which you might realize and fight till you die). The original game had maybe 1 instance of them both, here we get 3-4 in a shorter game.
+Improvements to combat like new mods and weapons
+Mini quests (fetch quests) are more interesting this time around rather than the blandness of what was before.
+Everything the worked before is maintained like modding weapons and visceral combat...
-One bad new gameplay mechanic, a one-hit kill move where you drop down on a zombie from up high, or at least weaken them down enough for a single extra hit to do the trick. But I’d reserve how often I did this, because it would always leave me staring at my feet for a few seconds while getting attacked by the other zombies, helpless and paralyzed...
-You end up getting pulled underwater when you explore with the boat, I mean seriously? Insta kills just because we want to explore. If you want to make the game linear like the previous dead island, don't block off areas with insta kills, Because we can't see it coming. Just block the areas off with debris, bouy's, nets, rocks...
-Difficulty scales widely against you when you play on your own, dead island was criticized for throwing in characters into cutscenes when you play on your own... now theres another reason to hate coop designed game. Not playtesting solo games?
-The game is roughly 15 hours rather than the 22 hours of the original.
-glitching weapons and enemies through walls and ground, crashes and disappearing items, teleporting even into far away areas when your coop partner dies.. ect
-Story is even more disjointed and slow than it was before..

It has a decent length, a total of 4 maps but I prefer for there to be at least 5 long maps or 10 short ones. But thats not a big issue, I find the many dark areas to suit the name of the mod, but the mod isn’t as good as the title suggests.
Theres nothing really unholy in it if you count the same aliens we face over and over again as that.
There many dark areas could have been tolerable if you also wouldn’t have to face surprise headcrabs every 30 seconds. It manages to make vent crawling a pain, it wouldn’t seem tedious if it wasn’t for every area being so dark :/
The difficult isn’t high, but its occasional explosion from the air raid causes roof to fall on you -_-
This isn’t one of the great ones but its good for beginners which Team Letkyx shouldn’t be anymore after 5 maps.

+Graphics are middle range
+Voice acting is pretty good
+Story is decent
+Somewhat fun, decent weapon selection
+Ending is sad (the one that requires you to fight it out)
-To easy, sure you fight tons of good guys and bad guys alike, but it seems like you absorb a ton of bullets what ever difficulty your on and so you breeze by the game.
-Theres no reload or cover key, instead it works automatically. Its kind of strange reloading whenever your character feels like it and getting thrown into cover, which is wonky and only ends up getting you shot because of how close it puts you to the edge.
-What ever ending you choose Lynch and Jenny complain all the time... it's kind of unrealistic. It makes no sense that Jenny would complain about you leaving your criminal friends behind... Lynch wants you to leave the guys behind but then suddenly complains when you do.

A little disappointing to say the least, I usually have high standards for dream like mods because of how they scream for custom content or being experimental. Like changing reality so that it barely resembles are own, shifting gravity, space and time, and heavy with symbolism. But here we have none of that, just a short romp through the same old same old with a cheesy nightorb thing. Theres a few jump scares, not much to comment on. I would skip this.

Story seemed like it was going somewhere but then didn't and it ended abruptly. Ugh Can't say I enjoyed the gameplay, same stuff we've seen before. It gets 5 for above par level design.

Almost to play through, you can see that whatever these guys where shooting for they stopped half way through and said "**** it". The voice acting is subpar and the storyline is messy and simplistic. You don't even have the saving graces of level design or custom content, the pistol/smg/sniper rifle are missing their firing sounds. For a storyline that can be taken anywhere it sure goes at a snails pace and give us barely anything work with. Its not technically not badly designed just everything is to simple and ultimately to short from lack of work.

The story and script is really weak, the space combat is really fun though, especially with chases and large fights. Even the controls are great. The joystick works well. Theres one bad gameplay element though, you seem to bounce off enemies or your own ships, like your ship is made of rubber. It takes you out of the game and is unrealistic. It can ruin epic moments.
The game only allows you to play with one ship, and the enemy types are very limited, customization of said ship is wide enough for the armor upgrades but everything else is mild to be honest.
It could use multiplayer or coop.
Its cheap though so I think it might be worth getting if you like space combat.
