+the PC version does have decent visuals and a new enemy and different enemy placement so it might be worth checking out
+Can be scary
-Bizarre storyline, stoner characters & flat characters
-Enemies are to easy
-Bosses have wayyyy to much health
-Aiming controls are really jerky
I think its better than Resident Evil 5, 6 and Raccoon City. Take that for what you will.

-Max's Character, hes all brooding, nihilistic old bastard. He spends almost all of his dialogue complaining, self hatred & wanting to die. While it does seem like Max as a character with no one he cares about left alive, seems like a natural evolution, what made the series work before was not just his cynicism and metaphors, it was the fact he was a good guy underneath all that.. having something to fight for!
nihilists on the other hand are boring. We hate having to listen them go on, unless its something they keep inside of themselves.
Not just that, but alot of people can't relate to the whole drinking problem thing.
What exacerbates the problem is we never get to see him try and see the lighter side of things or try to enjoy himself even when hes at a party.

It's basically a very standard shooter, with some sci-fi elements in it.
+Enemies die quite easily,
+I think the storyline is pretty ok
+Fairly long at around 7-8 hours
-although some seem to take 2 bullets to the head to take down..
-auto saves are really unreliable, quicksaving all the time is necessary.
-slowmo is a nice addition problem is you can't dodge bullets, it slows everything down but problem is it also slows you just as much as everyone else.. making it useless.
If it slowed you down less than the enemies then its implementation would have made sense. Especially if its bullet time.
-no lean keys, for a realistic damage shooter this would have been nice

+Pretty middle length, essentially its one episode long. At around 5-6 hours.
+Funny, subtle humor with some references
+Fun. Its worth every minute.
+New arts and assets that remind of the old DNF
+Probably slightly better than the real DNF
+They did used Muesla's dike physics... and dukes rocket ship for the chopper.
-You don't get to rescue the president
-The voice sound files from the trailer used in the mod sound very muted and low quality that you can barely hear it
-You can't interact with poker or vending machines, drink coffee,
set car alarms off when kicking cars ect dnf is supposed to have a higher level of interactivity

Its Dead Island with small improvements to combat, coop and lootings but its even buggier and glitchy than the previous game. Although it is alot harder... which I would have liked if it wasn't so unfairly hard. It uses the whole waves of enemies while you defend a area (and in some instances infinite respawning enemies, these areas that you have to run passed which you might realize and fight till you die). The original game had maybe 1 instance of them both, here we get 3-4 in a shorter game.
+Improvements to combat like new mods and weapons
+Mini quests (fetch quests) are more interesting this time around rather than the blandness of what was before.
+Everything the worked before is maintained like modding weapons and visceral combat...
-One bad new gameplay mechanic, a one-hit kill move where you drop down on a zombie from up high, or at least weaken them down enough for a single extra hit to do the trick. But I’d reserve how often I did this, because it would always leave me staring at my feet for a few seconds while getting attacked by the other zombies, helpless and paralyzed...
-You end up getting pulled underwater when you explore with the boat, I mean seriously? Insta kills just because we want to explore. If you want to make the game linear like the previous dead island, don't block off areas with insta kills, Because we can't see it coming. Just block the areas off with debris, bouy's, nets, rocks...
-Difficulty scales widely against you when you play on your own, dead island was criticized for throwing in characters into cutscenes when you play on your own... now theres another reason to hate coop designed game. Not playtesting solo games?
-The game is roughly 15 hours rather than the 22 hours of the original.
-glitching weapons and enemies through walls and ground, crashes and disappearing items, teleporting even into far away areas when your coop partner dies.. ect
-Story is even more disjointed and slow than it was before..

The game is a bit to arcadey for me, it is relatively easy to kill zombies which is plus but it relies mostly on "special" zombies for the difficulty, you rarely ever overrun and therefore you never really get scared.
Honestly its all about upgrading, repairing weapons for whatever specialty your character is good at which depends on which of the 4 characters you've chosen. It's got alot of good locals but honestly once you reach the sewer its lasts forever, its the biggest sewer level of any game ever and that's disturbing that the creators thought of that as a good idea. Artificially lengthening if I ever saw it. The game is roughly 22 hours so it's not like it needed this.
The creators of this game really did not spend enough time refining the mechanics, enemies glitch through walls and weapons disappear, enemies attack you through other enemies.
The cutscenes keep shoving all the characters in eventhough you're playing alone or with 1 friend. They could have edited the cutscenes by simply taking away some lines of dialogue and the character model & some of the camera angles...
The ending is ridiculous.. he can fly away, hes planted bombs, hes risking his life unnecessarily by trying to shoot you and magically spawning fast zombies...
+ammo is scarce
+pretty long at ~22 hours
+upgrading weapons and attaching weaponmods
-Some bad gameplay mechanics like zombies leveling up with you, way to easy to push a zombie off you so you never get bitten, overpowered perks ect
-+Story isn't all that impressive but some OK parts
-Buggy and glitchy
-Lazy cutscenes that keep shoving all the characters in
-You can't kill any quest giving humans
It's one of those games that implied greatness if you watched the CGI trailer, but on delivery its rather mediocre. The only real effort put into it was for the most simplest gameplay mechanics.
For most people thats good enough, for me I expected more.
Mod Review on Apr 24th, 2013
Only a very small number of enemies are dismember-able.
Game Review on Apr 24th, 2013
This is a real mixed bag but ultimately worth playing.
+Moderately free roaming, as in big maps that only have certain points that allow you to pass to another map (STALKER style)
+Dialogue is usually good, in that you can talk your way out of alien/bandit/drug dealer encounters
-Bad translation, often the text is jumbled or words feel out of place. Thankfully theres a unofficial patch that fixes 99% of this.
-Bad audio, it has synching and skipping problems. Lack of voice actors.
-To many duplicate human models
-Spaceflight is a bit meh and your actions determine little during flight.
