+The levels are quite beautiful & big. Nicely designed.
+Characters are not particularly memorable but they do have good voice acting, and all play a part.
+Story was pretty good, encompassing conflict, espionage, terrorism and conspiracy. One that eventually leads back to the original Deus Ex.
+- a comfortable middleground in terms of difficulty.
+-Bob Page and Walton Simons are mentioned but we don't get to have a proper showdown. Instead we can cripple the MJ12 in a other way. Although I can see how they would be unreachable considering where the mod goes.
-Ingram's voice acting. I know hes supposed to be void of emotion much like the late JC, but this guy really sounded like hes been smoking a reefer before doing this. He comes off as more unenthusiastic than professional.
-Great architecture is let down by rather empty maps. Theres alot to see but not much to do.. sidequests are almost non-existent. The rewards for exploring are quite tame considering how much time is spent moving around.
-Lockpicks... lockpicks.. lockpicks.
-The attempts at humor really made me do a double take, I was really unsure if I imagined it or that it was really in game. It sticks out like a sore thumb and doesn't make me laugh or smile except maybe the first time Ingram said he wanted a ham sandwich.

Feels like a average novel, or a guided tour through museum. As far as art games go, this is essentially the most mediocre, it gives us no way to interact with the world, to feel like your a part of something. you essentially walk.. and walk.. and walk. Boring us enough to force us to listen to it talk about whatever it feels is important.
If they want us to give a damn, then DO something. Anything. This game feels like a modern military shooter, in that it's the same kind of **** we've seen before. Dear Esther feels like every art game we've already played.

I have some issues with EYE cybermancy
-No Quick-saving. The checkpoint-system is weird, unexplained and doesn't at all fit an RPG.
-No stealth. Despite all the stealth skills and silenced sniper rifles, stealth is completely useless. Enemies see you from miles and miles away, not only through thick mist that you as the player can't see through, but also through objects and even walls!
Apart from that, that alt-tabbing out crashes the game...
I heard it had some lag & bugs and glitches at launch (some ladders wouldn't activate).. that feels like a 'fly in the soup' of a great game.

+- the advantage and disadvantage of this game is that it focuses on killing rather than stealth. It's more Jason Bourne than a sneaky stealth operative. The iconic sneaking ontop of pipes, hiding underneath desks, dragging corpses into shadows and the night vision is all gone. Replaced instead with environmental kills, more fluid aiming, devasting melee insta kills, and repeatedly hitting enemies you've grabbed.
+Graphics are quite nice
+Sound design is top notch, including voice acting.
+The set pieces are where the makes of the game have tried to innovate with, some of them are hit and miss (like being thrown into a full on shoot out like in a Flash back to Iraq or some other really forced encounters that feel out of place or the platforming sections with tripwires that are a real chore) but most are really good & have a exciting flow. Like the torture scenes and the chase through Lincoln memorial.
+Level design adds to the game more so than its predeccors, allowing for a multide of tactical decisions. You now think of the best ways to take all the enemies out without them noticing you, rather than sneaking passed to the next section.
+Has quite well designed Coop missions.
-Intrusive aim assistance takes the difficulty & fun from the game, turning it lifeless so I avoid using the tagging.
-No night vision, there is thermal though. Luckily someone made a night vision mod for the game.
-No Spies Vs Mercenaries
-Ai pretty stupid for the most part, which hampers down the main stealth element of the game
-The story has some contrivances but then again, that was always more of a backstory in between missions than something you actively figure out... the characters are like in the past more like concepts then fully fleshed out people. It does have its moments though. Interrogating suspects and the swift pace, make for up for whatever is lacking in this department though.

+Probably one of the better Custom stories, the levels where of a strange bigger darker passageways. Not much ground floor castle areas though which I suppose is refreshing.
+Some weird ideas, like valhalla, valkyries, machinery that keeps them at bay, and a haunted place. A new enemy, and a non-static shadow enemy.
+Some weapons around the place, nice touch. Candle instead of lantern. Nice.
-Some of the new textures aren't great but that ain't no biggie.
-Some weird *** shoe horned in exposition from some Russian sounding guy in a steam bath. Honestly it was bad. He talks about some place where theres machinery, people getting killed.. how could that relate to the specific place your in. The name was not mentioned and the stuff he said was so vague...
-Alot missed opportunities for scares, its like he has a grasp of horror.. for not using jump scares, not cheaply anyway, but then clumsily puts in the enemy where ever.

+Some nice sequences even if its in cutscenes
+Visuals are really quite nice.
-Boring, the puzzles are not logical, theres way to much running around, Half the game is running around. It's really a traditional adventure game in every sense of the way... bad ways.
-Story didn't intrigue me in the way I was expecting
-NPC's are only a crutch really, the game has to much wandering so when you meet one you just have to run away. Throwing rocks momentarily slows them but at the speed you run away its like jogging. Theres no urgency or real threat.
-Map you find way to late in the game
-+Medium in length
