Its got very well placed scares and visuals worthy of some of the best Amnesia mods out there. The thing that I comment is that the scares are never really cheap unless you count the that one with the ironmaiden, the thing that stands out is that this is a tale of madness, a tale of the one who goes through ones own personal hell, purgatory and then reaches the epitomy of what it all beckons you to. Its a classic for sure and those who have played all the good mods out there can probably find some good quality content here even though it uses mostly the same assets as the original does, the sounds are mostly new.
I would recommend this to Amnesia fans until we finally get Machine for Pigs.

What the game has going for it
+Cute
+Bosses to kill
+A fair bit of legendary weapons and armor to find
+You can upgrade your health
+Moddable
-+Can't upgrade any other part of your character. You'd think 2D Rpg's would have learned from CV:SoTN by now. We need some kind of character progression.
-+Little variety in enemy types, fact is enemies get repetitive early on and it takes awhile before you find the new areas where you get different enemies
-+Randomly generated worlds aren't that different. Its supposed to provide replayability but you end up just digging, mining through more rock into more slightly different looking caverns. The weapons/items you find aren't all that random. You can find chests but what find is usually very limited and barely what you call "random". Potions seem to come in ~20 varieties but thats about as far it goes
-Building... very limited what you can build. Even for people who love building, you'll get bored pretty quickly.
-Characters all look the same. Sure you can change the colours but they are the same character model wise.
-No recognizable story. It just feels rather lonely and you don't really know how to proceed even once you find the "important structure". So you spend a very large portion of the game merely mining.
-Multiplayer is rather limited, the options to prevent other players from joining and so forth is quite strict.
-Movement is rather painful, you have to jump all the time, even for 1 block. So stairs are something you must jump over?
-No way to reverse mouse wheel, for some people this can be really annoying.

The thing is such a nice idea, executed so badly, its probably one of the worst mods I've played. The level design is shabby, its all so simple that you don't think of any of these places as real places but vacuum dimensions created by some weird *** god. Its got some new textures but they are used in a rudimentary way, the lighting is pretty much bog standard, where there are no shadows... and there is no combat to speak of. The mods good idea relies on "accidentally" killing evil men. Of course its not accidental but made to look as though it is. Only 1 of 3 of your targets have any friends that you would need to look innocent in front of. I would presume that if they where murdered their superiors (they are supposed to be gangster) would get suspicious and thus hell would reign in those cities it happened so it makes sense.
The problem is this idea is squandered in such a way, that only few times I've bared witness to such wasted potential. Even if someone "accidentally" dies you'd think everyone would be shocked. But no they all stand idly bye without so much as a gaze or muted shock.
That pretty much says what I feel, nothing but indifference to this mod.

It's got a good idea, as Portal has shown.. minus the teleportation gun. On execution I think its pretty good, it gives us unknown reasoning for tests, unknown selection criteria and murder for those that fail or those who pass who do not meet the criteria. Problem is it sort of just ends without giving us any answers, without giving us an escape, it just sort of ends after 20-25 minutes.
+I liked the level design as its more bright & more colours, like yellow than Black Mesa, and obviously no monsters.
+I like the concept
+I like the voice acting
+I like the general black government security guards but
-+ Fairly easy fights
-Test are pretty hard after the 2nd one
-Sort of just ends without giving us answers or a conclusion

AH! Refreshing. It continues the epic story of Shepard, we get to go through a environment that is some how reminiscent of opposing force yet whole heartedly unique to the authors style of claustrophobic areas interlaced with variety of enemies, fewer ammunition & minimal use of vent crawling. We get to fight some larger variety of zombies which is a welcome change, honestly I would have preferred a more climactic final fight but I guess with that M60 I was having high expectations. By the end I always do have more ammunition then I need so it would have made sense.
The level design is quite beautiful, with a fair use of 4 way corridoors that lead to different goodies so I usually explore to get the most out of the supplies. I really liked going to the surface after alot of that fighting/crawling and isolation. Good of the creator to do what few mods do and give us the proper ending. Its medium in length so perhaps being longer would be nice.
Its hard to come up with criticisms so I'll just say go and play.

This is a mod that somehow manages to do what few mods have, make HL look unique and interesting even after so much time of its existence. This mod borrows some RPG aspets of item hunting that make logical sense, essentially mini-puzzles that we get to do occasionally.
+Challenging, few ammo & weapons but
+Voice acting great at times, merely average at other times.
+Storyline, a new take on the events after HL. With a logically starting point.
+Level design is terrific, reminiscent of HL yet manages to have areas that look completely different texture wise yet maintain a claustrophobic and detailed architecture.
+Some item hunting, fits well into HL & is logical.
+Moral choice, you are forced to break the rules the security guards enforce... in order to progress. Which means there's more than one time where you might have to murder a innocent person.
+Very long
-Some parts slow down the pacing a bit to much like the elevator riding sequences

If only! thats what comes to mind everyime I think about this. Its got the makings of a great mod but its so short its barely even scratch upon the surface of having a opinion. The premise is good, the new creatures are very well placed and fit contextually. Its good the perfect weapon that was obviously made for this kind of environment that even the original HL saw very little use of in this environment (crossbow duh). If this was maybe half an hour longer than the almost 15 minutes it took to finish, I would have given it maybe 9 or 8 depending on how well the level design matches the unique design it was having so far. Ah so close to a gem its a shame the creator never expanded.
