I upload various mods to ModDB, so that they may gain some attention. If anyone needs any help with their profile pages send me a PM.
oh my, its Max. Its good to see him back, hope they take the previous themes of the past games and stick to it. Even in a new place like Brazil it could work.
Who's the bitch now?
I'm wondering, what sort of release date are you shooting for, and how far are you along?
hmm another relic from a time of much hope.
I don't think wandering around in the dark is fun. Afraid of Monsters pitch blackness just hurts your eyes and gets annoying when dealing with bland puzzles like find button/find door. It wasn't a good fit and the gameplay was very unrefined...
I wouldn't call it scary even though the main enemy was really creepy.
Cry of Fear is working on a whole new level. It took on AoM's good aspects and gave us way better gameplay/storyline/scares. Throwing in some jump scares just to keep us on our toes.
Wooooo thats different...
I get a "Unhandled exception has occurred in your application."
Is this mod compatible with the WON version of HL?
ah, going to register my copy of HL to steam... just to play this mod :D
The makers of Cube mod have permission to use the gravity gun from SourceForts 2
However Colossal's comment was deleted by someone so I'll repost it here
You used OUR textures and OUR ideas without even asking us. If you wanted to use OUR content, you could have asked. We would have let you. But since you DID NOT ask, I expect it to be removed soon.
You cannot use Valve as an example for your cause. By releasing their Hammer editor and Source SDK to the public they gave their permission to *everyone* to make non-profit derivative works. As stated here
If you would like to use the Source SDK or a Mod for a commercial purpose or activity, please contact Valve at firstname.lastname@example.org.
They never had a problem with it. Modders, however, are not always in the same boat. They don't always want their content to be used for other purposes. Sure, they can't sue you for taking their stuff without asking them because they're modders (they don't have copy right over it), but would it really hurt to just ask them? And if they denied it then all you would lose is a few decals and this entire thing could've been avoided. The issue is no longer about copyright infringement but about your opinion being right and others are wrong. I am not angry, I like the mod, but I am disappointed.
The comic and the personal attack you made towards Colossal is not allowed on ModDB and goes counter to our policy. Any images released have to be strictly about the mod, whether it be concept art, in game screenshots, wallpapers. A comic strip would be allowed if it wasn't directed a personal attack at ModDB members.
I have to admit that the only good part of Afraid of monsters was the with the Sven Co-op mod... But Cry of Fear is proof that you don't need that to make a good experience. Actually playing with friends lessens the fear aspect, because you have someone to cuddle up t-- I mean get courage from.
Coop just makes bad games seem good because your friends color the experience with jokes and socializing.
They will add what whatever the **** they want, throwing cliches at them isn't a good start for them. They are way beyond the start of developing the mod anyway.
Must admit the name of the mod is lame, and the story snippet is lame, but I'll track all the same because you seem like you are willing to improve on your craft. Also I've never played a game with a amnesia storyline except Arx Fatalis and obviously Amnesia Dark Descent so I can't say whether they are usually good or bad. The point is that the storyline gives an unimpressive synopsis.
Thats how daytime looks like? :O
A problem I foresee them running into, is how do you determine who these mindless soldiers listen to and who they won't listen to.
Because a enemy could just as easily ask the soldier not to attack them and go attack Russians instead :D
They would have to find some way of giving them instructions when they are in a "suggestable" state, (only can be done under what ever technology/method they use) but once this state passes they essentially mindlessly carry it out before returning once its done.
I think simplifying the skills is a good idea for the fact that Deus Ex is a longer game than this mod :) so your not going get as much skill points.
Combining swimming and environmental training while giving it a extra use for lifting heavy objects is a good idea... so is consolidating hacking/electronics, and demolitions/heavy weapons (demolitions had very little appeal as grenades already where effective).
Mechanics skill improves your own personal bots.
Putting melee weapon training in with Medicine is probably one of the worst decisions considering it does take real skill to use a simple weapon like a baton effectively... or a deadly weapon like a Katana.
Close Combat training should have been added, with the added advantage of martial arts perks, like being able to disarm someone, throw them to ground, put them into submission holds, and effectively throw weapons like shurikens/throwing knives.
Medicine is the governing skill for melee weapons now eh...
I do like the idea of Medicine giving you a better understanding of a persons vital points, could be a interesting perk... but actual fighting skill is a different thing altogether.
Of course it sounds like alot of work and really I would not have expected anyone to make this but its one of the things that seem missing from a otherwise great mod that has improved upon the original game (not counting the stuff Shifter has done for the game... or the multiple page books of TNM)
its a beauty among RPG's
Ah yes... *rubs hands together*, I'm going from Amnesia SDK to this one. Time to see what this baby can do.
I wish real NV goggles had a FOV this big :D
"Removed being able to manually save :yow:"
I mean no offense but you need a better profile header, its way to dark.
I like, looking forward to this more so than most HL2 mods.
