I am known as Ajay_[RUS] (and many other chars) in Freelancer Crossfire and as Ajay on SWAT Portal. The reason I selected such an username here? I don't give a f..., that's why.
Avatar is from the game Battlefleet Gothic Armada.
Sparks my interest. The Chain Lightning effect would be positively amazing, hopefully you'll be able to wire it up. The current mechanic of charge-depending damage also has potential.
I could have added electricity puns with higher frequency though, but I think that's beyond my capacity.
I have to agree about "Sniper's War" and "Leningrad", and feel that I should add my 2 cents, as I have recently completed those missions on Veteran. (Or was it hardened? I just remember than I spend a couple of hours on "Sniper's War").
I agree, lack of friendly respawns in "Sniper's War" appears to be an issue. Sure, I did it by smoke-rushing the hole enemies spawned from and fragged everyone from there... on a 100500th try.
A minor issue might be lack of ammo refill. I suggest placing a scoped Mosin-Nagant near Major Zubov. Not really necessary, but would be nice.
As for Leningrad... also lack of reinforcements (causing lack of ammo), and not much cover. I might also suggest leaving some spare smoke grenades, 'cos smokes were a lifesaver back then. I usually neglect them, but they are lovely when charching through the open field into a machine gun fire.
But overall, my experience with this mod is so far positive, so I'd like to thank the mod team for their nice work.
Tesla could be used as a name for the wind turbine.
You also forgot Ampere, Roentgen, Maxwell, Boltzmann, Planck, Goddard, Tsiolkovsky, Becquerel, Curie, Bohr, Rutherford...
Nevermind, the list can go on and on, especially once I dig out my old copybooks.
As for Seraphim stuff, we'd just need to make up a Seraphim root for "research" and go with usual Seraphim convention of *-istle for T1, * for T2 and *-thuum for T3.
I'm thinking Einstein, Shrodinger and Heisenberg as names for for Cybran research facilities.
Counting Bonus tracks, about 28.
I believe this wasn't in the track, but I've had this come to mind:
"Activating defence protocols. Defender. NOW."
Aww, I remember using it in Forged Alliance Mission 4 (since I found a way to run BrewLAN in campaign, and usually capture a Seraphim engineer in that mission)... Next time I'm gonna keep one of UEF factories' wrecks :D
TBAFH I liked the old model more. But this model is also cool, gives some unique vibes.
Holy flak, it's just amazing!
"Monolith" could be a good name for this turret. Reflects this thing's origins, its looks and could be a reference to Space Oddysey/Warhammer 40k/S.T.A.L.K.E.R., if you squint.
Lovely work as always!
And second that about the turret on a stick ^^
That poor Hau-esel is soo boned.
Afterall, Sir Isaac Newton is the deadliest SOB on the road.
Well... that explains why it has two ammo boxes, IIRC 2A42 has dual feed. Nice detail! ^^
I'm sure I have seen an UEF Disruptor as well, I think it was in Black Ops Unleashed extra unit pack.
Alternatively, Harkonnen Devaststor from EBFD could also fit UEF. "Reference level high, but not toxic".
In my opinion enlarged classic Mammoth Tank would make sense as UEF's Land Assault experimental; with UEF acknowledging the need of a cheaper experimental (*cough*Monkey Lord*cough*), and the best idea UEF would have would be a plain giant tank, with two giant Gauss cannons and Flayer SAMs (Secondary guns too, smaller Gauss cannons/riot guns/ plasma cannons).
That's just my thoughts, and you seem to already have your own plans for UEF Land Assault experimental (seeing as there's something called "Deus Vult" on the BrewLAN unit spreadsheet).
Also, UEF T2 Pillar heavy tanks were already pretty Mammoth-like; and fully upgraded Cybran Hive looks like an Obelisk of Light.
Did you use MTPs, Arena systems and Early Warning outposts?
Edit, oh, right, looks like USA AI is heavier on the air in 1.87, I'll keep that in mind.
Easiest medium AI? Methinks USA, they don't use artillery. Just watch out for air, but heavy AA can cover that.
Oh, and keep a pair of superweapons to keep them from getting their own.
Easiest factions to play might be RF and ECA (due to defenses). You can also set a 2v2 with an ally AI to back you up a bit. My first decent fights were 2v2v2v2 on Hostile Horizon, due to the ships.
P.S. I'm speaking of my experiences with the 1.86 version (the last released one), so IDK what might have changed in the "public" beta.
Actually, it being a direct dismantle of Neptune's guns makes sense.
Why develop an entirely new turret when you already have one strapped to those ships? IIRC it's been a RL practice to use cannons from dismantled ships as coastal batteries.
A new suggestion for the turrets mod: Cybran Nanodart Launcher from the Medusa. Complete with air/land unit toggle. Set at T2 because at T3 it would be outshone by actual T3 SAMs (it'd compete with flak, but it'd be tracking and inaccurate land attack versus AoE).
There is Abyssal Persecutor, a Cybran experimental battleship which had LEGS. It is unfinished (lacks most weapons) but it can be spawned from F2 menu. I hope it will be finished, 'cos I like LEGS-equipped ship overall and Salem class destroyers in particular.
I at first wanted to propose Grand Cannon (RA2 reference), but decided against it, IIRC I voted for Maelstrom Cannon.
(Besides, Cybran Experimental Shield Generator already counts as RA reference).
Or make them available in Ultimate Insurrection game mode.
Better yet - there could be a new game mode, Absolute Insurrection, where player can also build Globotech and Forsaken structures as well as those campaign-only units in addition to usual Ultimate Insurrection roster.
Enabling Base Props in Absolute Insurrection could also make some Civilian structures available for even beefier base building.
Oh, and about pinata APC.
In Nod 04B Globotech can stuff a Vanguard Light Tank inside those APCs.
Bug report: Forsaken Ambush spawns GDI Rangers and Grenadiers instead of Warriors and Skirmishers.
As for Forsaken Night, I just played it with two AIs (one ally one opponent) and it went smoothly.
Headcanon: She was The Infector from "The Infector Program".
She could have gone rogue afterwards (somehow), because if you name a faction "The Forsaken", might as well get a Sylvanas Windrunner expy.
(I'm sooo getting negative karma for this.)
Well, at any rate there is now a reason for AA defences to be returned into that mode. Though it's not much of a deal, there are still Tank Hunters/other Marauders.
P.S. It's "Ion storm". Iron Storm is when you have >15 Tremors force-fire at the area. Or enemy base.
Just noticed one thing.
Now that Marauders can fly, maybe it'd be better to make Gatling Towers/SAM bunkers available in Meat Grinder mode?
Aren't Whaloons fit better to lug big guns?
But yeah, it'd be awesome.
Okay, just played a few games vs. AI, like the update so far!
The Forsaken in particular are amazing, especially when Forsaken Ambush gets involved. Also, Skirmishers' cameo looks kinda cute ^^
And, new voiceover for the Tremor Artillery is hammy in a very good way. TREMBLE BEFORE THE VOICE OF KANE'S ARTILLERY!
