Thanks bro! I can't wait to finally finish them for AP. To work on one texture for more than a month is kinda demotivating to say the least :)

And I thought, that just me beat the records in the length of time doing skins ;)
Unfortunately, If you want something done right you have to spend some time on this. Nice work dude :)

Thanks for liking it! Yeah, making player skins is propably the most painstaking piece of texturing work out there. And to make it worse, I am a perfectionist, so I can't finish something unless it's perfect lol :(

I also never give a crap to download so I understand you perfectly. Making skins is terrible pain in the *** job, very often something that it seems that you can do in a day, it takes a lot more time. But thanks to new skins, BF2 scene is still alive and mods are interesting.

You kept these pretty authentic looking along with the older skins from DICE. The 2x size looks really good as well.

I've found working in 2k then scaling down to 1k yields great results as people don't usually hone in on the smaller details- when they do, they usually notice a difference in quality between the soldier's skin and its surroundings. In my personal work I try to keep everything consistent
i.e everything is HD or everything isn't

I think different people have different opinions on the matter, but regardless, it's obvious you put a lot of work into this and I can tell. Great work man :) I can't wait to see your future projects.

+you cut the camo along the seams. So few people remember to do that but it always makes things pop a bit more

Thanks for complimenting on my work!

I guess we feel the same in regards to consistency. I don't like to see mods with mixed standards in quality, so yeah, I also prefer something either HD or not. With these skins, the reason why I made them is so that I can have the same general appearance as the vanilla ones, while having it more detailed. So I don't think I will be decreasing the resolution anytime soon though ;)

To be honest, the two MEC soldiers took me about 2 months which is kinda too long for texturing I guess. About the seams, yeah you are right about that, that is exactly why I did that :)

Description

After a 2 month's slow progress and lack of motivation, I have finally finished the heavy soldier. This texture has a resolution of 2048x2048, which is double the resolution of the vanilla one. Texture consists of 65 layers, which is actually rediculously a lot if you know texturing.

I am almost finished with the light soldier and kits textures as well, so watch this space for more updates this week. :)
