Unzip both files, copy the contents of both folders into one folder(12 .rar files & a shortcut, then extract with winrar, you need only do the extraction for the first file, the others will be chained by winrar. Copy the .big file that is created to c:\program files\sierra\homeworld2\data & place shortcut on desktop (this assumes a standard install of HW2 & Windows).
FYI to everyone, the new release is almost ready (& stocked with ships), just a few more days, and hopefully an easier install. :-)
