A lot of things look way too wet/shiny/white. And it goes without saying that the Gravity Gun looks completely screwy.
Then he should have put them in addons, where they belong.
I was able to play through DE2, probably because I'm not really attached to DE1. After the glaringly obvious flaws in DE2, the wasted potential of the game was it's biggest flaw. At times it even did things too similarly to DE1, such as the plot. Admittedly I did like the music.
There needs to be more remakes of bad games. Too many games are remade just to milk the popularity of the originals. It's nice to see a disappointment be given a second chance.

If you're going to stick with this type of effect, it would probably be a good idea to switch to a perlin-noise beam like the vortigaunt's zap attack from Episode 2.
Fewer obnoxious video effects & longer cuts would be a big improvement.

Working from left to right, I thought the designs looked cool & original. But this? I can't even tell what I'm looking at. It's a cluttered mess.
It's a Panthereye, they were cut from Half-life during it's development & can be seen in a few old trailers.
In HL2 it's called weapon_FRAG & it says FRAG right on it. The one in HL1 is a MK2 grenade which could only be a frag.
They're SUPPOSED to be a frag grenades, but no sane game designers would try simulating one, so HE & Frag both behave the same.
In HL2 it's a frag. It doesn't look or behave like a frag, but it has the word "Frag" written on it, so that's that.
This just make me wonder what was going through Killuh's head when he drew this.

This is what I hate about these remake mods, the HL style seems to be the first thing that gets "updated", not the things that actually should.
