My name is Mike and I study games design in Cambridge, UK. However, I'm not at Cambridge university, I'm at a tiny university right in the middle of Cambridge called Anglia Ruskin. Not heard of it? Didn't think so. I'm currently 19 years old and enjoy gaming and games development. For a long while I've been using all versions of the Unreal Editor and haven't fallen out of love with it for longer than a day (when it crashes unexpectedly it involves a few hours of cursing, but then we kiss and make up). Nothing interests and satisfies me more than creating a game environment in which others can enjoy. Track Tactical Assault if you're interested! 'Watch me' if you're interested in my work.

So there I was at my neighbours house. We were all playing on his xbox360, on LIVE. Fun and all. But then I realised, when you buy a game, should you not get the right to play online with friends and strangers alike? Aside from every game on the 360 being £40, you also have to pay £40/year just to be able to play multiplayer. I don't know about everyone else, but thats a fucking joke. Yes - I'm biased, I'm a PC gamer. But that doesnt change the fact that microsoft target the less technically-aware gamers of us in order to sap them of their cash. I bought CoD4 for £25 on the PC, thats it. Multiplayer games forever. Thats how it should be.
When I bring this obvious fact to people's attention, they say "but the controllers feel so much nicer than a keyboard and mouse." Ever heard of plugging a controller into a PC? And then when it comes down to it, how many console games have keyboard/mouse support? Very very few. Is it me or are all console gamers just being used..?
