That is weird, I tried to open the game as you instruct here.
I put the zip file in the same map as the gzdoom exe and drag it in order to play the game.
But during the loading I get the following message:
"could not realloc 1288 bytes"
I understand from the forums that it is a memory problem, something with a map perhaps but is there any way to resolve it?
Edit: never mind, the problem was with the version of gzdoom I am using.
Sorry for wasting your time.
I really like the work you and and your team has done Nick.
I am so much looking forwards to the Beta of this game, it is probably my most anticipated FPS game at the moment.
Oh okay, just wanted tell him that I really like the work he did.
If I understand correctly you are Laz Rojas?
If so I want to thank you for putting all your time and effort into making these mods and maintaining them for all these years.
I would honestly love to be able to pull off projects such as the ones you have made.
My favorite mods in particular are Astrostrein, I have always have had a weakness for pulp sci fi with time traveling Nazis and what the world would be like if they had won.
Hopefully you still continue to make Doom/Wolfestein mods these days.
"With the sound of music"
Sorry couldn't resist :P
I didn't know that the Doom engine was actually capable of this.
I would really like to see this beast in action as I mentioned in another comment section.
Not seeing it move and fight seems like a waste of such a nice looking model.
I think it would be neat if we could actually claim these weapons from fallen bosses after you have defeated them.
(Machine gun from that boss, shotgun from that guard etc)
Might be a little game breaking but I always thought that would make a good progress system to acquire certain weapons during a Metal Gear game.
I don't know how much your team will 'remake' Metal Gear as 'updating' the game to be perhaps more like Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake and Metal Gear Ghost Babel, but if you would want to put in an actual fight between the player and the TX-55 you would have my support for that decision.
I know the storyline is about preventing the Metal Gear from being finished and becoming operational but I found the actual confrontation with it a bit disappointing. (setting a series of C4 charges in sequence while avoiding laser armed cameras)
Would be a fun twist of the Metal Gear suddenly becoming active during your attempt to sabotage it, and after you have defeated it Big Boss emerging from the cockpit.
Oh that is a shame, I would have loved to help out coming up with a campaign involving most if not all of these civilizations/species in a similar way as Armada 1 and 2.
Yeah, I did have the idea that it was an 'older' class Klingon ship.
Seems like a new approach to the D7/K'tinga class starship from that era.
Out of curiosity, if you have the time and resources will you also add other major species/civilizations such as the Cardassians, the Dominion, and Species 8472, if only in multi player mode? (I don't expect a massive single player campaign with all these species)
Is that a pulsar on the background? Looks very nice.
I hope you will add more spatial phenomenon to the backgrounds.
Is this a new design of Klingon starship?
It is not that the work the modder has done on the panel is bad, it is just the first thing that caught my eye.
Don't take it wrong but please do redesign the Borg image/avatar, it should be more pale 'dead eyed' like without barely any hair.
Though this is probably a filler.
Ah ****, I was really looking forwards to this project. I even bought Crysis 2 so that I could play this.
Damn that I can't program or model myself as I would have been interested in taking it over.
These explanations you are telling us about sound as idiotic and ridiculous as the whole scene itself was.
There is such a thing of being a fan of a movie and accepting plot holes, and sticking your head up your own ***, humming "I can't hear you" while ignoring obvious mistakes on the part of the movie producers.
I know its fictional but as a lover of cats I am really horrified that the Black Mesa scientists did this to lovable moggies.
I hope they got what they deserved when the creatures broke free from containment.
Just wanting to try to help :D
I wish you luck with you and your friends' project.
Heh, do please consider putting in some of the ships of 2003 game that will not make it in the main campaign as an Easter egg.
I really liked the design of the Colonial Bomber and I would love to see that Cylon breach ship again.
Okay, I was looking online if I could find any screenshots of the ships but that won't be necessary anymore.
Is this game solely based on the latest series or are you also including ideas/designs from the old series?
Also, do you know about the Battlestar Galactica game that appeared on the PS2(Xbox?) a couple of years ago?
It used models from the old series but also introduced new and more powerful variants of fighters and ships and also introduced Cylon boarding craft, Colonial and Cylon Bombers, tankers, Battlestars with unique weapon systems, and a new type of Basestar.
I wish I could point you out to a site where all this information is available but perhaps you already have it.
It could be a source for ideas.
What is wrong with Katarn?
I don't mind occasional spin off stuff like with Mara Jade or Jaden Kor but the Dark Forces/Jedi Knight series is about Kyle Katarn so he should play the main role in it.
Also Rosh really is a weak and boring character. Not everyone is interested in him.
New isn't always better.
Doesn't the light sail ship kind of stand out? It would be really fragile and not really combat worthy.
I definitely prefer the newer designs for construction and trader/transport ships as I found the standard ones ugly like hell.
Also like how you mix the various alliances of species, using canon ships as much as possible.
>Coruscant makes a cameo actually, but no Tatooine this time. However there are a lot of alien species in DP.
Heh perhaps I was not clear but I actually find it a good thing that your project doesn't focus to much on already known worlds ;)
>And there are other enemies besides Imperial forces.
Nice, as you may know, the intro of Jedi Knight 2 mentioned that there were various armies now seeking to take control of the galaxy since the fall of the Galactic Empire, I was always curious what these other factions next to the New Republic and Empire were.
Introducing them brings in some new dynamics, will they for example also fight each other when they don't notice you?
Perhaps its best that the games are subtitled as I can not imagine another voice actor for Kyle Katarn than Jeff Bennett. (yes I know it were different actors before ;) )
How many people worked on the storyline for DP?
The imperial world reminds me of the Fortress Worlds mention in Wookieepedia Starwars.wikia.com
Is this such a world?
I also like it that we get to explore more alien cities and world that we haven't seen in much detail or are completely new. (its to easy to do Coruscant or Tantooine all the time)
But will we also get to explore imperial bases, stations and ships?
I like the New Republic/Jedi Knight era as it is a period of transition from the Galactic Empire to a new republic, with the Empire now basically forced in the role of the Galactic Alliance, desperate to get their control back.
I never cared for the Clone Wars era.
A question, as your team seems to be Russian (apologies if I got it wrong), will there also be an English version or is that the initial goal of your project.
The work you and your team have done so far is very impressive and I really like the looks of the alien cities.
The New Republic/Jedi Knight games is one of my favorite eras in the SW setting.
It must be said, this is one of the better mods.
Its impressive what was done with a game released in 1996 but most praise should go to the people who assembled this.
There are AAA titles sold for full price that offer less than this.
Let us stick to the fact that tastes differ AudioGhost™.
As an old school Fallout fan I would have preferred Van Buren over Bethesda's Fallout 3, which IMO ruined the series with horrible ideas and content that appealed to people who never cared about Fallout otherwise.
I rather would have had it that Fallout had died rather than being zombie resurrected by Bethesda in order to appeal for the 'for lulz' crowd.
Fallout started as a hard PnP RPG for which Isometric Viewpoint is ideal before it was turned into a FPS/Stat hybrid (stats do not make a game an RPG), loosing many elements that made it good.
I agree with this guy, I rather also have this mod to become a focused FPS game than some half baked action/adventure with stat building elements.
Linear in this case means mission focused, it would be nice though if there could be multiple paths to the same mission objective, when possible of course.
