The 1911 is a 1 shot 1 kill weapon when you score a headshot. Mind you the Zombies don't charge directly at you with their head static and depending on your ping you'll probably have to get use to timing your shots differently then others like every other MP game. But in the end we'll all blame the game, lag, or mouse anyways won't we? heh.
We definitely see what you see and would have liked to have been able to share the latest content (most of which is being prototyped and put on hold as we work with Valve to get everything sorted) but you'll be seeing a proper setting on release so fear not :)
They are proper undead but I've always liked L4D's take on "rabies" and while it may resemble L4D in some ways like the virus it's a much different experience! We're looking into bringing the game to PAX Prime for attendees and interested parties to play (thought we're still quite busy with all the contacts from GDC 2012 atm as well heh). Hopefully we can do more for those who aren't attending soon after.
I've lived in Japan for 9 years but I'm caucasian and was born in the US. I live here because it makes my wife happy and offers my children some advantages they wouldn't have at home though I am definitely home sick. Hope that helps answer your question :)
We just took down the Kiosk as GDC Play is over. We'll still be on there for the last day of GDC tomorrow though. We did not have a playable demo of the game available at the Kiosk no but had one prepared for private meetings. What you find odd about the AR-15 could be the wire that leads to the flashlight. But we'll look into it as soon as GDC is over and we've had time to settle back in.
Appreciate the compliments and wish we had the resources that BF3 had (who wouldn't?) I personally think the game looks fantastic. As for melee, again this comes down to head shots by someone who plays 16 hours a day but we haven't even hit our balance or polish phase. Using melee usually means you're going to get hurt and with more than 1 zombie death is almost certain. It is a last resort attack that you can only get away with if you have the health and team support.
Don't want anyone making assumptions one way or the other. But quite a bit more work is done than what Groupyl has led himself to believe and the release date is still TBD. We won't rush the game out but hope to get it to you guys as soon as we can without sacrificing quality.

We're not looking at Valve time if that's what you're asking but we have a lot we want to complete but a good work flow so we're not concerned. Hard to say with the new Engine, features, polish, and marketing. Probably release sooner than most think and later than some are hoping for. A bit vague I know :/

Can adjust settings in options if you feel that way, though obviously we prefer it as is. Scale wise and design wise they're nearly perfect and were redone repeatedly for accuracy alone. Glad you like!
2012 is an exciting year for Monochrome and our title "Contagion" but as much as I would like to say 2012 release! I can't set anything in stone just yet. I can say we do have one in mind.

I'm not a fan myself but many of our fans are. I blame being American and 30 but the music fit the video and I was happy with the results. I do apologize to all those who aren't fans and hope you can enjoy the showcase trailer even so.
Well the seagulls fed themselves on litter and trash until they could lift small animals and eventually... So I moved to Japan and started a NEW family.

Of course. With the the obvious opposition to this bill and the admission by those who hold it in their hands that they have no idea what they're doing I hope we'll see even less restrictions. I'm not a pirate and would hope to see those who know they want the game were willing to pay for it but this goes a bit quite a bit beyond piracy and I'm grateful to all who protested. I only wish I had done more.

Some very important and exciting news yes. We will be posting soon but are quite busy with a deadline at the moment. Hope it will excite you all as much as it has us.
Some of what you're curious about was present but not shown but will be revealed in the near future. Hopefully before GDC :D and some will be present in the future. Promise we will find someone with a talent for PR to help get more updates out to the public but don't forget we do share stuff every so often on our Facebook and twitter profiles.
